WWE Unforgiven (2007)
Disappointing
I have to say that this event was nothing short but, disappointing. This is cause so far 2007 in my year had the best quality PPV's. This one was the most disappointing event of the year, considering last year's Unforgiven got excellent reviews.
FIRST MATCH- CM PUNK {CHAMPION} VS. ELIJAH BURKE FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP Not a bad choice for an opener, but this much was just a disappointment for me. These two are capable of much better as evident in their previous encounter at Judgment Day. Too slow and not enough fast paced wrestling, Punk wins after a roll-up to retain his title. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- MVP AND MATT HARDY {CHAMPIONS} VS. DEUCE AND DOMINO {W/ CHERRI} FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS Not a bad tag team match, with good wrestling and drama between Matt and MVP throughout the match. However could of been a bit better with more time added to the match, overall a pretty average tag title bout. Matt Hardy and MVP retain their belts after Matt hits a Twist Of Fate on one of the Domino's. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- TRIPLE H VS. CARLITO IN A NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH ONLY FOR CARLITO I expected better from these two, as this was a no disqualification match for Carlito only. A bit too slow and the match just seemed to drag on. But then again it's HHHH so what do you expect. HHH wins after the Pedigree but no one cares, I certainly don't. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- CANDICE MICHELLE {CHAMPION} VS. BETH PHOENIX FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Surprisingly I was not that disappointed with this match considering Candice Michelle is in it, as she is a over rated wrestler who always seems to get injured. Not a bad match, but again just seemed to drag on and on. Michelle wins after a surprise roll-up for a win. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- GREAT KHALI {CHAMPION} VS. REY MYSTERIO VS. BATISTA IN A TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP After Khali's and Batista's absolute failure of a match at Summerslam, Mysterio was added into this World Title bout to add excitement, which was most right in doing so. Not a bad match, but it was too focused on Batista and Mysterio ganging up on Khali, which got sometimes boring. Batista wins the World Title finally after having 1000 title opportunities by hitting a very impressive spinebuster on Khali. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. RANDY ORTON FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP After their absolute match of the year classic at Summerslam, it is a crime to end this match as a disqualification. Too much brawling between these two, and this match should of had a proper finish, that's all in my opinion enough said. Orton wins after Cena gets himself disqualified by continuing to beat Orton up and ignoring the referee's warnings. There shouldn't be a DQ finish at a PPV. 4/10
SEVENTH MATCH- LANCE CADE AND TREVOR MURDOCH {CHAMPIONS} VS. PAUL London AND BRIAN KENDRICK FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS Shockingly this is probably the only match that actually stood out on the card. Pretty much exciting and fast paced match that shows some breath of light in the tag team division in the WWE. Cade and Murdoch retain their titles after Cade hits a Sit-Down Spinebuster on London. 6/10
EIGTH MATCH- UNDERTAKER VS. MARK HENRY Even though Undertaker is returning back, this still is not the appropriate mainevent. Even though Undertaker is a legend in the WWE, when he returned back at Wrestlemania XX to face his brother Kane, that wasn't the mainevent, so this one shouldn't be. A bit slow and sloppy, but Undertaker wins to stop this bore of a match from continuing. 4/10
So this is it, 2007 being one of the years where WWE have produced every PPV that turned out to be exciting, and this one spoils it. A mediocre PPV where it seems all the matches just seemed to drag on and on. This is a disappointment from last year's Unforgiven, which turned out to be one of the best PPV's of the year.
Overall I'll give it a 5/10 and a D
WWE Vengeance (2006)
Decent is the best word to describe this event
When I bought this DVD, I thought that it was a very decent show to say the least, Raw has focused more on making this a great PPV with good matches and the return of DX. However the match placing of some matches on the card is the only problem that this event lacks.
FIRST MATCH- KURT ANGLE VS. RANDY ORTON I actually quite agree to putting this as the opener. This is quite a good rivalry, that can only just get better. The match pace started off very slow, but continued to pick up during the end. A bit disappointed with this match as these two are one of the WWE's best superstars. Orton wins after an RKO on Angle. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- UMAGA {W/KAMALA, DOINK THE CLOWN AND HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN} VS. UMAGA {W/ARMANDO ELJANDRO ESTRADA} Ehhh we shouldn't be seeing a squash match on live PPV. By the way what is this match doing on the card, give Umaga a better opponent, Eugene is not the right one. Very quick match which made no sense at all. Umaga squashes Eugene after a Samoan Spike. Afterwards Umaga knocks down Jim Duggan and Doink The Clown, but backs off against Kamala. Very weird booking here which once again should not have been on the card. 2/10.
THIRD MATCH- RIC FLAIR VS. MICK FOLEY IN A 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH These two are capable of much much better than this. This match was really boring, and did not show enough ring chemistry between these two legends. Pretty slow and boring, and the use of weapons in this match did not help at all. Flair wins by 2 falls after Foley on the second fall gets himself disqualified by hitting a trash can on Ric Flair's head. After the match, Foley busts Flair open by using 2 by 4 barbed wire to make Flair bleed profusely. 4/10
FOURTH MATCH- SHELTON BENJAMIN {CHAMPION} VS. CARLITO VS. JOHNNY NITRO {W/MELINA} FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Very good triple-threat match for the IC Title. All three men put on one great match filled with excellent wrestling and chemistry between these men. Shelton Benjamin is truly championship material, and it showed right here. Nitro wins his first singles gold after pinning Shelton after Carlito hit the Backstabber on him. 6/10
FIFTH MATCH- ROB VAN DAM {CHAMPION} VS. EDGE {W/ LITA} FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP A non-stop exciting match that I enjoyed really well. This should of been the mainevent but we can't have everything that we want. Great spots, and very exciting wrestling between these two men. Very good match that did not stop the excitement from flowing and both men did not slow the pace down at all. Hands down to both great performers, RVD retains his title after a Frog-Splash on Edge. 7/10
SIXTH MATCH- JOHN CENA VS. SABU IN A EXTREME RULES LUMBERJACK MATCH Not a bad match, but could of been a bit better, it could of been a bit longer. The Lumberjack gimmick helped out the match and became exciting when Raw and ECW Superstars started brawling at ringside. Cena wins after making Sabu tap out to the STFU. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- KANE VS. 'IMPOSTER' KANE Bad match, bad storyline. Honestly Kane deserves better than this, he is a veteran and could easily retire soon. Very slow and sloppy match which hardly got the crowd involved. 'Imposter' Kane wins after a Chokeslam. 4/10
EIGTH MATCH- DX VS. THE SPIRIT SQUAD IN A 5-2 HANDICAP TAG TEAM MATCH While I thought the match was both good and bad, this still should not have been the mainevent, but I understand that this is the way WWE hypes the major DX return. I was surprised to how exciting this match turned out to be as there were some great spots in this match such as one Spirit Squad member jumping off a trampoline and hitting a bulldog on HBK. Good handicap match, and a very average mainevent that could off been in the mid-card. DX supposedly wins after HHH hits a Pedigree on one member of the Spirit Squad. 5/10
As I wrote in the title of this post, I think it is safe to say that this event was pretty much decent. While it was a good event after the abysmal failure of the last Raw PPV Backlash 2006, this show could of made the WWE Championship the mainevent, and the handicap match a mid-card. But still great show, which does not make me want to return the DVD and ask for my money back.
Overall I'll give it 7/10 and a C+
WWE Royal Rumble (2008)
Entertainning the Rumble is as usual
The Royal Rumble is always entertaining as usual, and this one was no exception. However I thought the Rumble could of been a bit better considering how many star wrestlers were in the Rumble.
FIRST MATCH- RIC FLAIR VS. MVP IN A CAREER THREATENING MATCH IF RIC FLAIR LOSES HE MUST RETIRE FROM WRESTLING Not much of a smart way to open up the event, but the crowd was widely involved which was a good sign. Pretty much disappointed with this match as it was too slow and sloppy, MVP is a good wrestler and Flair should of carried him throughout this match. Flair wins after making MVP tap out to the Figure 4 Leg Lock. 4/10
SECOND MATCH- CHRIS JERICHO VS. JBL Was not expecting much from this one, but it turned out pretty average. Jericho is an excellent performer, while JBL still shows signs of ring rust after being on Smackdown commentating for at least a year and a half. Pretty brutal match with a bit of a crappy finish, JBL wins by DQ after Jericho hits him with a chair. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- EDGE {CHAMPION} VS. REY MYSTERIO FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Again this was nothing more than a pretty much average match, which is a bit of a disappointed since these two are capable of producing high quality matches. Good wrestling throughout this one, as both kept the pace going, but it could have been a bit more better. Edge wins after spearing Mysterio in mid-air. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON {CHAMPION} VS. JEFF HARDY FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP The weeks of buildup leading into this match was superb and excellent booking. However I am disappointed about the outcome of this match. This match had good wrestling, but only 15 minutes of solid action does not give it justice. Orton predictable wins after an RKO on Hardy. Jeff Hardy certainly is main event calibre. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH I was reading throughout the boards and comments, and this Rumble match was given such good and positive reviews. When I watched it, I thoroughly enjoyed this Rumble match, however it was a bit slow at times. I was not expecting Cena to win and I don't think anyone else did also. Entertaining as usual, but could of been a bit better as what is the point of Jimmy Snuka and Roddy Piper coming in the Rumble when they have no chance of winning it. John Cena shockingly makes a surprising return and FU's HHH over the top rope to win the Rumble. 7/10
This year's Royal Rumble was given a lot of good comments by those posting on these boards. I thought it was a very good event, however some of the matches were just put on the card to make the event pad out. The Royal Rumble was entertaining, and Cena winning it has got to be the biggest shocker in WWE History. Overall I was quite impressed with the WWE on this one.
Overall I'll give it a 7/10 and a C+
WWE No Way Out (2008)
I had high hopes for this one
When I found out that there were going to be 2 elimination chambers in one night, i was had high hopes and was looking forward to this one, since Elimination Chamber is one of my favourite WWE Gimmick matches.
FIRST MATCH- CHAVO GUERRERO {CHAMPION} VS. CM PUNK FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP A solid opener in which I was not too disappointed with. However it could have gone for at least a couple of more minutes, The crowd also played a role in this one, as Chavo is supposed to be the heel, but the fans were chanting for him anyway. Chavo wins after hitting Punk with the Frog Splash. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- UNDERTAKER VS. BATISTA VS. FINLAY VS. MVP VS. GREAT KHALI VS. BIG DADDY V IN A 6 MAN ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH WINNER BECOMES NO. 1 CONTENDER AND FACES WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION AT WRESTLEMANIA 24 It started off a bit slow which is no surprise considering Great Khali and Big Daddy V were put into this match {Why couldn't they put Kane or Shelton Benjamin instead}. This match had it's moments {Like MVP getting choke slammed of the pod, and Batista spinebustering Big Daddy V}. Overall I was quite impressed with this match, but it could have been more exciting and brutal like most Elimination Chamber matches should. Undertaker wins after a Tombstone on Batista. 6/10
THIRD MATCH- MR. KENNEDY VS. RIC FLAIR IN A CAREER THREATENING MATCH IF RIC FLAIR LOSES HE HAS TO RETIRE FROM WRESTLING The most predictable match on the card. In my opinion this match was quite boring and most times very slow. Kennedy should have been in one of the Chamber matches, as he is a wrestler with absolute potential. Very slow and most times boring, Flair wins after Kennedy taps out to a Figure 4 Leg Lock. 4/10
FOURTH MATCH- EDGE {CHAMPION} VS. REY MYSTERIO FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Surprisingly one of the shortest matches on the card all because of Mysterio's bicep injury. Had it not been for his injury, this match could of been a great match, possibly better than their match at The Royal Rumble. Edge wins after spearing Mysterio in mid-air. Afterwards Big Show returns and starts assaulting Mysterio, which leads to Floyd Mayweather to come and hit a series of punches on Big Show's face which makes him bleed. Not a bad segment, and very surprised that Big Show has returned. 4/10
FIFTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON {CHAMPION} VS. RANDY ORTON FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP Their match at Summerslam the past year was absolutely one of the best wrestling matches I have seen in quite a while. Too bad this one did not stand out as it could of been. Both of these men are no doubt the future of the WWE, and there are still way more matches in them. This match was pretty much mediocre to say the least, but it was pretty entertaining nonetheless. Orton gets himself intentionally disqualified after slapping the referee, Cena wins by DQ but Orton is still champion. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- TRIPLE H VS. JEFF HARDY VS. JBL VS. CHRIS JERICHO VS. SHAWN MICHAELS VS. UMAGA Hands down this is the match of the night and even possibly match of the year. Amazing elimination chamber match with great wrestling and incredible spots like Umaga slamming Jericho through the glass, and Hardy swanton of the top pod. Excellent match which was more superior than the Smackdown elimination chamber. It was obvious HHH was going to win, HHH wins after hitting a Pedigree on Jeff Hardy on the steel chair. 7/10
As there were 2 elimination chambers in one night, I had very high expectations for this event, especially since it was the last one before Wrestlemania. I was not disappointed at all, but I thought that some of the matches could of took a bit longer such as the World Heavyweight title match or the Raw elimination match. Overall a very exciting event which only makes WWE fans look more forward towards the Road To Wrestlemania.
Overall I'll give it a 7/10 and a C+
WWE No Mercy (2006)
Pretty good event, nothing that much disappointing
Well Smackdown PPV's are just always my favourite as, Smackdown is the best brand so far in WWE in my opinion. This PPV was no indication, as it was a good event that was not disappointing at all.
FIRST MATCH- GREGORY HELMS VS. MATT HARDY Not a bad way to start the show. The action picked up well throughout the bout, as a lot of intensity was shown between these two men. Matt Hardy wins after nailing the Twist Of Fate on Gregory Helms. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- PAUL London & BRIAN KENDRICK {CHAMPIONS} W/ ASHLEY VS. KC JAMES & IDOL STEVENS W/ MICHELLE McCOOL FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS A very impressive tag team match this was, a lot of nearfalls and moments that made this quite enjoyable. Kudos to Paul London & Brian Kendrick, these two teams are just the best. Paul & Brian retain after a double team somersault. 6/10
THIRD MATCH- MVP VS. MARTY GARNER This is MVP's debut match. This is probably the only boring match which is on the card, MVP is boring and still is as off today. MVP obviously wins after nailing his finishing move the Playmaker. 2/10
FOURTH MATCH- UNDERTAKER VS. MR. KENNEDY This was very close to being named Match Of The Night. I liked the way how this match progressed as each wrestler was focusing on each other's body parts. Great match as Undertaker is a true legend & Mr. Kennedy has a bright future and will be WWE or World Champ someday. Kennedy wins by DQ after Undertaker knocks him out with the US Title. After the match, Undertaker tombstones Kennedy & the referee. 6/10
FIFTH MATCH- REY MYSTERIO VS. CHAVO GUERRERO W/ VICKIE GUERRERO IN A FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH I gotta be honest, I did not watch a large part off this match due to the DVD freezing, but I did catch the near end moments for me to give it a rating. Great feud between these two men as I think it's the best if WWE just let's Eddie rest and admire his great accomplishments instead of mentioning his name in story lines. Mysterio wins after nailing a 619 from a barricade area. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- WILLIAM REGAL VS. CHRIS BENOIT This was added as a bonus match by Teddy Long earlier in the night. This was also Benoit's return match that year. Pretty good submission styled match, as both of these two men were doing grappling moves and focusing on each other's body parts. Good match, could of been better but nothing to complain about. Benoit wins after Regal taps out to the Crossface. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- KING BOOKER {CHAMPION} VS. BOBBY LASHLEY VS. BATISTA VS. FINLAY IN A FATAL 4 WAY MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP I have not seen that many Fatal 4 way's in my 4 years as a hardcore WWE Fan. But I have gotta say that this was the best that I have seen among them. All four men involved gave it their all throughout the match, as this was indeed Match Of The Night. Kudos to all four of the men involved. King Booker pins Finlay after Batista slammed him with a Batista Bomb to get the win & retain his World Heavyweight Championship. 6/10
Another great Smackdown PPV which was very enjoyable and is a must see. Great action from every match, except for MVP's debut match. But nothing to complain about as this event has exceeded my expectations.
Overall I'll give it a 7/10 & a C+
WrestleMania XXIV (2008)
A great Wrestlemania that was under the sun
Wrestlemania XXIV was a great show which had great matches, good memories, good story lines and hype. I would definitely say that this Wrestlemania was better than last years {Although last years was a great Wrestlemania as well}.
FIRST MATCH- JBL VS. FINLAY W/ HORNSWOGGLE IN A BELFAST BRAWL MATCH An okay way to start Wrestlemania with this Belfast Brawl match which has had a great storyline behind it. It was pretty brutal with lots of weapons used such as kendo sticks, tables, trashcans etc. Good match, JBL wins after hitting Finlay with the Clothesline From Hell. 6/10
SECOND MATCH- MR. KENNEDY VS. JOHN MORRISON VS. CHRIS JERICHO VS. CM PUNK VS. CARLITO VS. SHELTON BENJAMIN VS. MVP IN A MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH This was by far the best MITB that I have seen, although one problem is if it could have gone maybe a extra 5-10 minutes longer. Highlights are definitely Morrison doing a moonsault on the outside holding a ladder at the same time. Also Matt Hardy made an unexpected return & nailed a Twist Of Fate on MVP from a ladder. CM Punk grabs the briefcase & wins the MITB Ladder match. 6/10
THIRD MATCH- BATISTA VS. UMAGA IN A RAW VS. SMACKDOWN SUPERIORITY MATCH Started off slow, but picked up pace later on. Could of been a good match but it was kept pretty short as Batista beat Umaga with the best Batista Bomb I have ever seen {Even though I hate Batista}. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- MARIA & ASHLEY VS. BETH PHOENIX & MELINA IN A TAG TEAM LUMBERJACK MATCH SPECIAL ENFORCER: SNOOP DOGG I had low expectations for this match, as Diva matches at Wrestlemania seem to be very boring. But I slightly enjoyed this match, because off new wrestling moves shown by the Divas throughout the match. Santino distracts Maria, enough time for Beth Phoenix to nail her Brainbuster move for the win. After the match, Snoop Dogg knocks down Santino & surprisingly locks lips with Maria. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- RIC FLAIR VS. SHAWN MICHAELS IN A CAREER THREATENING MATCH IF RIC FLAIR LOSES, HE WILL HAVE TO RETIRE FROM WRESTLING Good enjoyable match that had that Wrestlemania feel to it. Great submission wrestling holds were used through this match, as Ric Flair despite his age sure can wrestle. Michaels hesitates, then tells Flair "I love you" before nailng Sweet Chin Music on Flair for the victory, as Flair's prestigious career is sadly over. An emotional match it was as we should expect, as Flair was very tearful after his match. 6/10
SIXTH MATCH- CHAVO GUERRERO {CHAMPION} VS. KANE FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP Kane won the 24 Battle Royal earlier to earn a title shot. Very short match with Kane nailing a Chokeslam on Chavo for the easy victory. May be short, but it was priceless as Kane has finally won after all the benefits he has done for the WWE such as competing in lame story lines. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON {CHAMPION} VS. TRIPLE H VS. JOHN CENA IN A TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP I was very surprised to see this match placed too early on the card, as I honestly thought it was going to be the mainevent. I was a bit disappointed as to how short this match took, should of been longer. Randy Orton covers Cena after a HHH Pedigree for the win to retain his WWE Title. I honestly did not think that Orton was going to retain, good job WWE. 5/10
EIGHT MATCH- FLOYD "MONEY" MAYWEATHER VS. BIG SHOW IN A NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH I enjoyed this match very much, as Floyd Mayweather is just not worth $20 Million. I liked how Big Show was beating Floyd up, until the end of the match, where Mayweather would knock Big Show out with a brass knuckle for Big Show to be knocked out for the 10 count. 6/10
NINTH MATCH- EDGE {CHAMPION} VS. UNDERTAKER FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP This was by far the best match on the card. You can feel the intensity, the rivalry and the hype behind this match. Lots of nearfalls and counters made this match just plain enjoyable and pure entertainment. Edge even breaks out of Undertaker's tombstone finisher during the match, Undertaker catches Edge in his new submission to get the tap out victory, keep his undefeated streak alive and winning the World Heavyweight Championship for the 6th time. Kudos to both men as this is what you call a Wrestlemania main event. 7/10
This was a very enjoyable Wrestlemania, even better than last year's. WWE put a very good effort on this event, that made it worth watching. Some matches were short, but that was about it. Still this is one Wrestlemania to talk about. Good job WWE.
Overall I'll give it 8/10 & a B+
WWE Great American Bash (2007)
The Greatest Bash Ever
With the Great American Bash one of my favorite events of the year, this was the greatest Bash ever, almost every match was entertaining, as this was a definitely a must see.
FIRST MATCH- MVP {CHAMPION} VS. MATT HARDY FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP The match started off slow, but picked up later on, these two are capable of great matches in the future. Also the right amount of time was given in this match. MVP wins and retains his title with his finishing move on Hardy, the Playmaker. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- CHAVO GUERRERO {CHAMPION} VS. JAMIE NOBLE VS. FUNAKI VS. SHANNON MOORE VS. JIMMY WANG YANG IN A CRUISERWEIGHT BATTLE ROYAL FOR THE WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP I love Cruiserweight matches, and this is mostly the reason why, this match had all the high flying moves you would see in a Cruiserweight match, only seen on Friday Night. With all the Cruiserweights knocked down, Hornswoggle suddenly appears from under the ring, nails a Frog Splash from the top on Jamie to unbelievably win the Cruiserweight title. 6/10
THIRD MATCH- CANDICE MICHELLE {CHAMPION} VS. MELINA FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Candice has really improved in the ring ever since winning the Women's title. Melina just keeps getting better, this was a really nice Women's match as finally the Divas are putting on classic contests instead of being noticed as eye candy. Candice retains her title after nailing a Standing Bulldog on Melina. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- UMAGA {CHAMPION} VS. JEFF HARDY FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP It started off with Umaga dominating the match, then Jeff Hardy fought back which brought the match to a great new level. Nice match here with a lot of crowd involvement. Jeff Hardy is really Championship material, and could be WWE Champion one day. Umaga nails Jeff with the Samoan Spike to retain his IC title. 6/10
FIFTH MATCH- JOHN MORRISON {CHAMPION} VS. CM PUNK FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP These two by now know each other's moves and arsenals in the ring. They get better and better each time they are in the ring and this match is no exception. John Morrison retains his ECW title after his Corkscrew Neckbreaker on CM Punk. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. DUSTY RHODES IN A Texas BULLROPE MATCH Some might say that this match was boring, or Dusty Rhodes is too old and should not wrestle again. Well this match did have that feel to it as it was a normal Texas Bullrope match which you would expect. Dusty Rhodes despite his age, still has something left in the tank, but it doesn't matter as Orton nails Rhodes with the cowbell on the head to win the match. After the match, Orton goes to beat up Dusty Rhodes, but his son Cody Rhodes comes in for the save, making Randy leave the ring in the process. 4/10
SEVENTH MATCH- GREAT KHALI {CHAMPION} VS. BATISTA VS. KANE IN A TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP It takes Batista & Kane to put Khali in a good match, seriously Great Khali just cannot wrestle, if Kane was not in this match, this would be a train wreck. Batista is not that far behind Khali. Khali nails Kane with his Chokebomb for the win to retain his World Title. 5/10
EIGHT MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. BOBBY LASHLEY FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP This is practically a dream match, and what a better way for it to happen at the Great American Bash. This was a hats down contender for Match Of The Year. Kudos to Cena and Lashley, as they gave it all in this amazing contest, good job Cena and good job Lashley. Lashley will become WWE Champion one day, that's for sure. Cena nails the FU from the top to get the pin on Lashley to retain his WWE title. 6/10
This was the greatest Great American Bash ever, as all of them are. Watching this amazing event makes one thing for sure, Smackdown is the Flagship of WWE and will be for the long time. Good job Smackdown and Kudos to WWE.
Overall I'll give it 9/10 & a A
WWE One Night Stand (2007)
An Extreme PPV
Normally I really don't care about ECW, as I just watch it sometimes for fun, but this PPV definitely downed the work 'Extreme'
FIRST MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. ROB VAN DAM IN A STRETCHER MATCH It started off slow but picked up later on, this was also RVD's final match before leaving WWE. RVD nails a huge kick on Orton, puts him on a stretcher and pushes him past the line. After the match, Orton destroys RVD with numerous kicks and shots on the head, and a DDT from the barricade. May I just say that it is good RVD is leaving, as he is the worst wrestler ever and is a drug user, I hate RVD. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- CM PUNK, TOMMY DREAMER AND SANDMAN VS. THE NEW BREED {ELIJAH BURKE, MATT STRIKER AND MARCUS CAR VON} IN A 6 MAN TAG TEAM TABLES MATCH This was a damn good exciting match, I really enjoyed this contest as it had the fair bit of time it deserved, and all six men did their best to entertain the fans, and they definitely did. CM Punk superplexes Striker on Elijah Burke through a table for his team to win the match. 6/10
THIRD MATCH- HARDY BOYS {CHAMPIONS} VS. THE WORLD'S GREATEST TAG TEAM IN A TAG TEAM LADDER MATCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP At first, I said that the match between Undertaker and Batista in a last man standing match at Backlash was a match of the year candidate, I may have to change that as this match was definitely match of the year. So many high spots, risky and bumpy moves, all thanks to Hardy Boys and Shelton Benjamin. Charlie Haas didn't really do anything, and should be released from the WWE, he is a bad wrestler. Shelton Benjamin is really championship material, and should be a champion again one day. Hardy Boys climb up and grab the titles together to retain. 9/10
FOURTH MATCH- KANE VS. MARK HENRY IN A LUMBERJACK MATCH It is sad to see the way Kane is being pushed, against a man who can hardly wrestle, which is Mark Henry. This match was pretty bad, that I was paying attention to the reaction off the lumberjacks, then Mark Henry wrestling. Kane is a great wrestler, but couldn't keep up with Mark Henry, since he just cannot wrestle. Mark Henry beats Kane by making Kane pass out to a bear hug. 4/10
FIFTH MATCH- VINCE MCMAHON {CHAMPION} VS. BOBBY LASHLEY IN A STREET FIGHT This was the second best match of the night, that's right Vince McMahon was finally in a good match against the man Bobby Lashley. This was a really enjoyable street fight, which saw Lashley having to fight against Shane, Umaga and Vince as well. Lashley overcomes the odds, and spears Vince for the win, and to win back his ECW Championship. I guess the feud between these two men is finished, but it was a great feud. 7/10
SIXTH MATCH- CANDICE MICHELLE VS. MELINA IN A PUDDING MATCH This match was just bad, plain bad. Words cannot describe it, as it is a waste of PPV time, and has no sense at all. Thankfully it finished pretty quick. Candice Michelle wins but no one, as well as me cared. 1/10
SEVENTH MATCH- EDGE {CHAMPION} VS. BATISTA IN A STEEL CAGE MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Out of all the steel cage matches I witnessed as being a 3 year wrestling fan, this has got to be the weakest cage match ever. Why, because we have Edge who is an alright champion but is a bad wrestler fighting against the worst wrestler ever in WWE Batista. But it finished at the right time, as Edge climbed over and out of the cage for the win to retain his World title. 5/10
EIGHT MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. GREAT KHALI IN A FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP It was an so and so match, but their encounter at Judgment Day was a bit better. John Cena who is the best wrestler alive today, is facing against Khali who is not so far behind Batista as the worst wrestler ever. Cena carried this match to a good level, but I'm serious, Great Khali should never main event a PPV again. Cena wins after nailing an FU on Great Khali from the top of a tractor to retain his WWE title. 4/10
ECW has definitely made it's mark, as this was one of the better PPV's off the year after No Way Out and Backlash. Some matches were disappointing {especially the pudding match, my god that was awful}, but the Street Fight, Tables and Ladder match made this PPV a must see. Once again, good job WWE as their PPV's are improving every month.
Overall I'll give it 8/10 and a B+
WWE Judgment Day (2007)
Such an under-rated Smackdown PPV is
I always liked Smackdown, and watching this PPV just shows that Smackdown is the flagship of the WWE. But looking at the ratings and reviews, my goodness how under rated this PPV is, there's hardly anything wrong with it.
FIRST MATCH- RIC FLAIR VS. CARLITO It started off slow, then came out as a psychological match as Carlito worked on Flair's arms throughout the whole match. Flair needs to have more moves in his arsenal, as all he did in this match was hardly chops. Flair wins after making Carlito tap out to the Figure 4. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- BOBBY LASHLEY VS. VINCE MCMAHON {CHAMPION}, SHANE MCMAHON & UMAGA IN A 1 ON 3 HANDICAP MATCH FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP I like this match as a shocker as to how short it lasts. Lashley dominates for about a minute, before pinning Shane to win his ECW title back. After the match, Vince McMahon announces that he is still the champion as he did not get pinned. May be a cheap outcome, but the rivalry still continues between Mr. McMahon & Lashley. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- CM PUNK VS. ELIJAH BURKE Surprisingly this was match of the night, as both these two young starts just show why they are the future of WWE at the moment. Great match, as these two need to have a 20 minute match. CM Punk wins after nailing the GTS {Go To Sleep} on Elijah Burke. 6/10
FOURTH MATCH- HARDY BOYS {CHAMPIONS} VS. LANCE CADE & TREVOR MURDOCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS This match was somewhat similar to their Backlash bout, but still was a very good match. Hardy Boys win after Twist Of Fate, then an Swanton Bomb to retain their World Tag Team titles. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. SHAWN MICHAELS This had a potential to be the best match of the night. But Shawn Michaels was seriously injured, suffering a concussion at the hands of Great Khali on Raw about 2 weeks ago. Randy Orton completely destroyed Michaels, targeting his severely injured head until the referee stopped the match and awarded Orton the win. After the match, Shawn Michaels was taken away on a stretcher with the help of trainers and his own wife. 3/10
SIXTH MATCH- EDGE {CHAMPION} VS. BATISTA FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP I was actually expecting a bit more from this match, as this was for the Heavyweight title, and every World title match is a good one. Edge is okay as champion, but thank goodness Batista is not champion, as he is the worst wrestler and worst former champion as well. Edge retains his title by a roll up on Batista. 4/10
SEVENTH MATCH- CHRIS BENOIT {CHAMPION} VS. MVP IN A 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP An okay match, but a little too much submission and UFC style moves involved. It was alright with MVP focusing on Benoit's knee throughout the match. MVP wins the second fall after a surprise roll up on Benoit to win the US title for the first time. 5/10
EIGTH MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. GREAT KHALI FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP First mistake WWE did was put Khali in a main event, as seriously he just cannot wrestle. But I was really surprised with this match, as it was really enjoyable, mostly by John Cena who is the greatest WWE Champion at the moment, after Randy Orton. Cena makes Khali tap out for the first time to retain his WWE title and end Khali's 14 month undefeated streak. 5/10
This PPV was really under rated, as it was an enjoyable event, as mostly all Smackdown PPV's are. I like it, but why it is so under rated, I guess I'll never know.
Overall I'll give it 7/10 & a C+
WWE Backlash (2007)
Raw's Finest PPV after Unforgiven 2006
This has not only got to be the best Backlash in history, but Raw's best PPV this year after Unforgiven last year.
FIRST MATCH- HARDY BOYS {CHAMPIONS} VS. LANCE CADE & TREVOR MURDOCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS A nice way too kick off Backlash and what a way. This tag match took about 13 minutes, with great wrestling action & psychology between these two teams. Hardy Boys win after a Twist Of Fate then an Swanton Bomb. 6/10
SECOND MATCH- MELINA {CHAMPION} VS. MICKIE JAMES FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP This has got to be the longest Women's match I have ever seen, without Trish or Lita, I'm surprised these two women can show their athletic abilities and wrestling skills in a close 10 minute match. Melina wins after an Inverted DDT. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- CHRIS BENOIT {CHAMPION} VS. MVP FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP A great match with a good psychology between these two athletes, i've just got to say that their Wrestlemania 23 encounter was just a bit better. Benoit retains title after a surprise roll up on MVP for the win. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- BOBBY LASHLEY {CHAMPION} VS. VINCE MCMAHON, SHANE MCMAHON & UMAGA IN A 1 ON 3 HANDICAP MATCH FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP With Mr. McMahon's matches always being a bit of a bore, this was a surprise for me, as this was a great match. Bobby Lashley showed off his great power and best pure athlete abilities so far in WWE. Umaga nails two splashes from the top on Lashley, then Mr. McMahon tags in and pins Lashley to become the new ECW Champion much to the shock of the ECW commentators. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- UNDERTAKER {CHAMPION} VS. BATISTA IN A LAST MAN STANDING MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP This is definitely what I will call a grand match. After their epic Wrestlemania 23 encounter, this was another great match in the chapter of the rivalry. I'll go even far as to say, this may be a contender for Match Of The Year, just maybe. Batista spears Undertaker through the bottom equipment, as both men stay down for the 10 count. Nobody won, but Undertaker still retains his World Title. 7/10
SIXTH MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. RANDY ORTON VS. EDHE VS. SHAWN MICHAELS IN A FATAL 4 WAY MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP This was a very good match, but would have been better if the match had just a bit off a more fast pace into it. But it was still an exciting Backlash main event, which told the story off Cena overcoming the odds again. John Cena has got to be the greatest WWE Champion after Rock and Brock Lesnar. 6/10
No wonder this PPV is over-rated, as it is over-rated for a good reason. Six matches on the card, and not one match disappoints. I think Smackdown is the best brand in WWE, but Raw definitely held it's own here tonight, great PPV. Good job WWE.
Overall I'll give it 8/10 & a B+
Summerslam (2005)
Has it's moments
A good Summerslam event, as nothing was really wrong with it, but could of been a bit better with the matches, the duration of them & their pace.
FIRST MATCH- ORLANDO JORDAN {CHAMPION} VS. CHRIS BENOIT FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP This has got to be the fastest title change in Summerslam & WWE history. Benoit makes Orlando tap out to the Sharpshooter in about 25 seconds to become the new United States Champion. 3/10
SECOND MATCH- EDGE W/ LITA VS. MATT HARDY This more of a brawl, not a wrestling match, but what a good brawl it was. Edge beats Matt Hardy bad until he bleeds, as the referee stops the match, which results Edge as the winner. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- REY MYSTERIO VS. EDDIE GUERRERO IN A LADDER MATCH FOR CUSTODY OF DOMINICK Pretty cool ladder match, although I really didn't see the ending, but from what I saw, it was an acceptable ladder match from these two great athletes, especially Mysterio, but never count Eddie Guerrero out. Eddie's wife distracts him, knocking him off the ladder, as Mysterio climbs up the ladder & retrieves custody papers to gain the right to keep his son Dominick. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- KURT ANGLE VS. EUGENE W/ CHRISTY HEMME IN A NO TIME LIMIT CHALLENGE FOR KURT ANGLE'S GOLD MEDALS A pretty solid & one sided match, but it was alright. Angle always rules, but Eugene is just bad. Angle makes Eugene tap out to the ankle lock to get his gold medals back from Eugene. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. UNDERTAKER Very good match, pretty much the same like their Wrestlemania encounter, but it was great, both these two men have got great chemistry in the ring together. An unknown hooded figure interferes, giving Orton enough time to nail an RKO on Undertaker for the three count. After the match, it turns out the hooded figure is Cowboy Bob Orton, Randy Orton's dad. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. CHRIS JERICHO FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP Another good match, as all the hype between these two men have not carried down this match. Jericho & Cena are really great athletes, & have got really good chemistry together. Cena nails the FU for the win & to retain his WWE Championship. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- BATISTA {CHAMPION} VS. JBL IN A NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Wasn't bad, but could of been given just a little bit of more time, pretty coll spots in this match. Batista nails a Powerbomb on JBL on the steel steps, for the cool victory & to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. 5/10
EIGHT MATCH- SHAWN MICHAELS VS. HULK HOGAN Finally, the match everyone has dreamed & waiting to watch for one last time has come here, & what a better place besides Wrestlemania than Summerslam. To say the truth, I was expecting a lot more from this match, but Hulk Hogan is getting pretty old, so you gotta give him a break. It was alright, as Hogan was busted open really badly in this match. But he was able to fight back, & nail a Big Boot followed by a Leg Drop for the win. After the match, both Michaels & Hogan shook hands in respect, as what a great way to end Summerslam. 4/10
As I said, this Summerslam has it's moments, especially the ending of the mainevent, as it was a great Summerslam which is no surprise as all Summerslams are exciting to watch. Good event, nothing really too bad, but the mainevent could of been a bit better, but overall, it was a great event.
Overall I'll give it 7/10 & a C+
Summerslam (2007)
Definitely the biggest part of the summer
My goodness, when they are saying biggest part of the summer, they sure are not kidding, this was a roller-coaster ride of an event. This is the best Summerslam so far, even after Summerslam 2004.
FIRST MATCH- KANE VS. FINLAY With this match having enough time, this was a damn good way to start the show, both men were in a good match, & despite it's duration, this was a really good match. Kane wins after a massive Chokeslam on Finlay. 6/10
SECOND MATCH- UMAGA {CHAMPION] VS. MR. KENNEDY VS. CARLITO IN A TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP It's pretty hard to rate this match, as it was really good, but I felt as though something was missing, anyway still an exciting bout to watch, although I really wish Mr. Kennedy won. Umaga nails the Samoan Spike on Mr. Kennedy for the win & to retain his WWE Intercontinental Championship. 6/10
THIRD MATCH- REY MYSTERIO VS. CHAVO GUERRERO The fans went absolutely wild & crazy when Mysterio made his return, but what the heck, it is really great to see him come back after a long & severe knee injury. Mysterio makes his long awaited comeback by defeating Chavo with a 619. Welcome back Rey. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- RAW VS. SMACKDOWN VS. ECW DIVA BATTLE ROYAL WHICHEVER DIVA WINS BECOMES NO.1 CONTENDER FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP It was pretty hard to watch this match, as too many Divas in the ring & they were all screaming, anyway Diva matches hardly impress me. Beth Phoenix eliminates Michelle McCool last, but I don't think anyone cared. 4/10
FIFTH MATCH- JOHN MORRISON {CHAMPION} VS. CM PUNK FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP These two just get better & also have more chemistry every time they step in the ring together. But it wouldn't hurt if CM Punk could get the title some time. Sadly no, as John Morrison puts his feet on the ropes & pins CM Punk for the win & to retain his ECW Championship. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- TRIPLE H VS. KING BOOKER W/ QUEEN SHARMELL The crowd goes twice as crazy when HHH the King Of Kings returns, it sure as hell is great to see him come back. What a comeback it was, as he carried King Booker to a good match {King Booker himself & his gimmick is just really bad}. HHH nails the Pedigree on King Booker for the comeback win. I think it's time HHH becomes Champion again. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- GREAT KHALI {CHAMPION} VS. BATISTA FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP My goodness this match was just horrible, for the first time ever, I actually wish that Great Khali remains champion, then that useless wrestler Batista. Thank God that this match finished pretty quickly. Great Khali nails Batista with a steel chair to disqualify himself, but remains champion. After the match, Batista nails a spine buster on the giant Khali, I'll be surprised if anyone cared. 3/10
EIGHT MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. RANDY ORTON FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP The match that most fans would love to see is finally here. The match started off slow & a bit slow paced as well, but later throughout the match, the pace quickened very fast, & turned out to be the Match Of The Night. John Cena nails the FU out of nowhere for the hard fought victory. John Cena has won 10 PPV 's so far this year, what an awesome fighting champion. 6/10
This year's edition of Summerslam definitely delivered, awesome matches, great comebacks by Mysterio & HHH, this was a great Summerslam, definitely categorized as the 'Biggest Party Of The Summer'.
Overall I'll give it 9/10 & a A
WWE Taboo Tuesday (2005)
Way better than last year's disappointment
After last year's mediocre Taboo Tuesday, this one really delivered in which the fans played a huge role in this PPV event.
FIRST MATCH- GENE SNITSKY & CHRIS MASTERS VS. ????? & ????? IN A RAW VS. SMACKDOWN INTERPROMOTIONAL TAG TEAM MATCH THE OPTIONS WERE REY MYSTERIO, MATT HARDY, HARDCORE HOLLY, JBL & Christian THE FANS VOTED FOR REY MYSTERIO & MATT HARDY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE EDGE TEAMING UP WITH CHRIS MASTERS, BUT EDGE BACKED DOWN, & CHOSE SNITSKY AS HIS SUBSTITUTE Great way to start the show, it was given the time it needed, & all four superstars showed off their wrestling skills, great match. Mysterio wins after a Springboard Leg Drop on Masters. 6/10
SECOND MATCH- CARLITO VS. ????? THE THREE OPTIONS WERE MICK FOLEY, CACTUS JACK & DUDE LOVE THE FANS VOTED FOR CACTUS JACK Not really that bad of a match, but wasn't also slightly good, should of been given a bit more time. Cactus Jack wins after the Mandible Claw. 4/10
THIRD MATCH- FULFILL YOUR FANTASY BATTLE ROYAL FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP THE THREE OPTIONS FOR WHAT THE DIVAS TO WEAR WAS SCHOOLGIRLS, NURSES & FRENCH MAIDS THE FANS VOTED FOR SCHOOLGIRLS I was a bit surprised at what an okay improved match this was, pretty entertaining, the reason being is Victoria made this match good. Mickie James & Victoria eliminate each other last, to make Trish win 7 retain her WWE Women's Championship. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- ROB CONWAY & TYSON TOMKO VS. EUGENE & ????? THE THREE OPTIONS WERE KAMALA, SERGAENT SLAUGHTER & JIMMY 'THE SUPERFLY' SNAUKA THE FANS VOTED FOR JIMMY 'THE SUPERFLY' SNAUKA Pretty slow, sloppy kind of match, wasn't really interesting as well. Eugene & Jimmy Snauka win, but I forgot how. 4/10
FIFTH MATCH- JONATHAN COACHMAN W/ GOLDUST & VADER VS. BATISTA IN A ????? THE THREE OPTIONS WERE STREET FIGHT, VERBAL DEBATE & ARM WRESTLING CONTEST THE FANS VOTED FOR STREET FIGHT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN VS. JONATHAN COACHMAN, BUT STONE COLD WAS INJURED Too quick, & way too rushed, we all know Batista can beat up Coach any time, & this match was no different. Batista wins after nailing a Batista Bomb on Coach. 2/10
SIXTH MATCH- LANCE CADE & TREVOR MURDOCH {CHAMPIONS} VS. ????? & ????? FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS THE THREE OPTIONS FOR A WRESTLER TO FACE JOHN CENA & KURT ANGLE IN A TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR WORLD TITLE IS SHAWN MICHAELS, BIG SHOW & KANE THE FANS VOTED FOR SHAWN MICHAELS BIG SHOW & KANE TEAM UP TO FACE THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS The match was a bit slow, normally because of the size difference between the teams. Big Show & Kane nail a double-chokeslam on Lance Cade to win the World Tag Team Championships. 4/10
SEVENTH MATCH- RIC FLAIR {CHAMPION} VS. TRIPLE H IN A ????? MATCH FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP THE THREE OPTIONS WERE STEEL CAGE, NORMAL MATCH & SUBMISSION MATCH THE FANS VOTED FOR STEEL CAGE What a brutal, bloody & entertaining match this was, words can't do justice of how this match was brutal & sadistic. Both men gave it their all, as they were both bleeding profusely during this match. Ric Flair nails HHH repeatedly on the head with a steel chair, then escapes the steel cage to get the win & retain his WWE Intercontinental Championship. 7/10
EIGHT MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. KURT ANGLE VS. SHAWN MICHAELS IN A TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP I have seen many triple-threat matches, & this match was the best out of all of them. It was fast paced, everything a main event should be. All three men did it their all to entertain the fans & pull out almost a 5 star main event classic. John Cena nails Shawn Michaels with the F-U to get the win & retain his WWE Championship. 7/10
Great PPV, no doubt about it, as this was way better than the disappointment Taboo Tuesday that happened last year. Good on ya Raw for pulling out a good Raw interactive PPV.
Overall I'll give it 8/10 & a B+
WWE Taboo Tuesday (2004)
I didn't expect that much out of it
Having to watch this first ever Raw interactive PPV, I was not really that much excited watching it, as knowing how bad ratings this got, despite a couple of good matches, this PPV was a bore.
FIRST MATCH- CHRIS JERICHO VS. ????? FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP THE OPTIONS WERE SHELTON BENJAMIN, MAVEN, ROSEY, HURRICANE, TAJIRI, BATISTA, RODNEY MACK, JONATHAN COACHMAN, WILLIAM REGAL & OTHER MIDCARD WRESTLERS THE FANS VOTED FOR SHELTON BENJAMIN Not a bad way to start off the match, but it went mostly slow, & not that much pace was quickened. Jericho goes for a cross-body but Shelton reverses it into a T-Bone Suplex for the win, & to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship for the first time. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- FULFILL YOUR FANTASY BATTLE ROYAL FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP THE OPTIONS WERE FOR THE DIVAS TO BE DRESSED AS SCHOOLGIRLS, FRENCHMAIDS & JOCKS THE FANS VOTED FOR SCHOOLGIRLS Bad, just bad, Divas in the WWE are not used properly. Trish wins after throwing Molly Holly out to retain her WWE Women's Championship. 2/10
THIRD MATCH- KANE W/ LITA VS. GENE SNITSKY IN A ????? THE OPTIONS WERE CHAIN MATCH, LEAD PIPE & STEEL CHAIR THE FANS VOTED FOR CHAIN Another bad, sloppy, slow & boring match. Words cannot do justice at how this match is a complete bore. Snitsky pins Kane for a 3 count, after he jumps from the top on a steel chair hung on Kane's throat, making him bleed profusely. After the match, Snitsky attacks Kane while he is on a stretcher. 2/10
FOURTH MATCH- LA RESISTANCE VS. ????? & ????? FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE THREE OPTIONS FOR THE SUPERSTAR TO FACE TRIPLE H FOR THE WORLD TITLE IS EDGE, SHAWN MICHAELS & CHRIS BENOIT THE FANS VOTED FOR SHAWN MICHAELS EDGE & CHRIS BENOIT FACE LA RESISTANCE FOR THE WORLD TAG TITLES This was an okay match, but something just stopped it from being a good one, don't know, but the match was acceptable enough to be entertaining. Edge leaves during the match, making Benoit face La Resistance on his own. Benoit makes a member of La Resistance tap out, to make Edge & himself the World Tag Team Champions. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- EUGENE VS. ERIC BISCHOFF IN A LOSER MUST ????? THE THREE OPTIONS WERE GET HIS HEAD SHAVED BALD, WEAR A DRESS OR BE A SLAVE FOR A MONTH THE FANS VOTED FOR SHAVING HEAD BALD This match was way too quick & lame. Eugene wins after a Big Boot, followed by a Leg Drop for the quick win. After the match, Bischoff tries to escape his way, but Vince McMahon comes, & makes Coach wear a dress, & makes Eugene shave his head bald, finally something good happens in the PPV. 2/10
SIXTH MATCH- TRIPLE H VS. SHAWN MICHAELS FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP We have seen these two fight many times, but this match was not really different. HHH focuses on Michael's leg almost the entire match. While the referee is down, Edge comes out of nowhere, spears Michaels, as HHH covers for the three count to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- CHRISTY HEMME VS. CARMELLA IN A ????? THE THREE OPTIONS WERE LINGERIE PILLOW FIGHT {I FORGOT THE OTHER TWO OPTIONS} THE FANS VOTED FOR LINGERIE PILLOW FIGHT This is just lame, was not ever supposed to happen, & should of never been on this PPV. Christy Hemme wins after pinning Carmella. Just way too lame. 1/10
EIGHT MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. RIC FLAIR IN A ????? THE THREE OPTIONS WERE STEEL CAGE MATCH, SUBMISSION & FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE THE FANS VOTED FOR STEEL CAGE Again, this was a good match, but the slow pace just stopped it a little, but overall this was an okay mediocre match. Orton wins after nailing the busted open Ric Flair with an RKO. 5/10
This was a pretty bad & bore of a PPV, especially the first Interactive Raw PPV. I agree with the ratings, as this was not good enough.
Overall I'll give it 5/10 & a D
WWE No Way Out (2007)
Watching this PPV, proves that Smackdown is the greatest show in WWE
Watching this PPV, I had high expectations for it, since Smackdown is the best show in WWE, this is a very good PPV as it is the last one before Wrestlemania.
FIRST MATCH-HARDY BOYS & CHRIS BENOIT VS. MVP & MNM W/ MELINA IN A 6 MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Good way to start the match. It started a bit slow at the start, but later the pace quickened & the match got more exciting & entertaining. Benoit rolls through & makes Joey Mercury tap out to get a victory for the Hardy Boys & himself. 6/10
SECOND MATCH- GREGORY HELMS {CHAMPION} VS. SHANNON MOORE VS. FUNAKI VS. CHAVO GUERRERO VS. DAIVAIRI VS. SCOTTY 2 HOTTY VS. JAMIE NOBLE VS. JIMMY WANG YANG IN AN OPEN CRUISERWEIGHT INVITATIONAL MATCH FOR THE WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP I'm a very big fan of Cruiserweights, & I never get disappointed watching them, especially in this match here. Chavo Guerrero nails the Frog Splash on Jimmy Wang Yang to get the win & become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- FINLAY & LITTLE BASTARD VS. BOOGEYMAN & LITTLE BOOGEYMAN This was not really a wrestling match, it was more like a comedy match, despite not being a clear wrestling contest, it still entertained me with the funny antics. Finlay nails the Little Boogeyman with the Shillaegh to get the win. Boogeyman does not deserve to be on a PPV, & does not deserve to be in WWE. 4/10
FOURTH MATCH- KANE VS. KING BOOKER W/ SHARMELL This was a surprisingly good match, I thought it would be mediocre, but it turned out into a real competitive wrestling contest. Hats off to both men, pulling a very entertaining match. Kane wins after a Chokeslam on King Booker. 6/10
FIFTH MATCH- PAUL London & BRIAN KENDRICK {CHAMPIONS} VS. DEUCE & DOMINO W/ CHERRY FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS Not really that much of a good match, Deuce & Domino need more training to wrestle, & London & Kendrick are the only ones keeping this match fast paced. London & Kendrick retain their titles, after Kendrick gets a roll-up on one of the guys for the win. 4/10
SIXTH MATCH- BOBBY LASHLEY {CHAMPION} VS. MR. KENNEDY FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP Mr. Kennedy attacks Lashley from behind, before the match starts. It was an okay match, but not really good. Lashley & Kennedy have a bit of chemistry, but not enough to pull a great match. Kennedy wins by DQ, after Lashley nails him with a chair, then assaults him with the chair all the way to the entrance area. Lashley still retains his title. 4/10
SEVENTH MATCH- JOHN CENA & SHAWN MICHAELS VS. BATISTA & UNDERTAKER This is probably the greatest tag team match that I have ever seen. Hats off to all of these men {yes even Batista} for pulling off as close as a 5 star main event classic. All 4 of these men played their parts in the match very well, as this was a very great & entertaining tag team match. Batista turns his back on Undertaker spine-busting him, then leaving the ring, which prompts Michaels to nail Sweet Chin Music, then Cena to nail an F-U for the hard fought victory. 7/10
I don't know why everyone says that this PPV is not good enough, or it is boring, I just don't get it. It is a great PPV which Smackdown always delivers. A great PPV indeed.
Overall I'll give it 8/10 & a B+
WWE Vengeance (2007)
The Night Of Champions Prevail
This was a very interesting PPV, as for the first time in WWE history, all 9 titles would be on the line in one night.
FIRST MATCH- LANCE CADE & TREVOR MURDOCH {CHAMPIONS} VS. MATT & JEFF HARDY FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP I didn't watch the start off this match, but I saw enough of it to rate it. It was an okay match, but went a bit slow & sloppy. Murdoch & Cade win after nailing their double-team finisher Sweet & Sour on Jeff Hardy to retain their WWE Tag Team titles. 4/10
SECOND MATCH- CHAVO GUERRERO {CHAMPION} VS. JIMMY WANG YANG FOR THE WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP I liked the psychology in this match, as it tells the story quite a bit between these two. I was really hoping for Jimmy Wang Yang to win, as Chavo is a disgrace as a champion. Chavo retains his title after a Frog Splash. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- SANTINO MARELLA {CHAMPION] VS. UMAGA FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP This wasn't really a match, it was more of a beatdown on Marella. Umaga beats Santino Marella at the count of 5 & gets disqualified, resulting Santino to still be the champion. After the match, Umaga nails a Splash from the top, then his finisher the Samoan Spike. 2/10
FOURTH MATCH- DEUCE & DOMINO {CHAMPIONS]W/CHERRY VS. JIMMY 'THE SUPERFLY' SNAUKA & SERGAENT SLAUGHTER IN A TAG TEAM OPEN CHALLENGE MATCH FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Very sloppy, slow & a bit of a boring match, I would have preferred the Major Brothers instead. Deuce & Domino win after nailing their finisher to retain the WWE Tag Team titles. After the match, Deuce & Domino beat down their opponents, until old time partners {forgot their names] come & clear the champions out of the ring. 2/10
FIFTH MATCH- MVP {CHAMPION} VS. RIC FLAIR FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP From the duration of the match I saw, it was pretty slow & sloppy, but a bit entertaining, but not that much. MVP retains his US title after hitting Ric Flair with his finishing move the Playmaker. 3/10
SIXTH MATCH- CM PUNK VS. JOHNNY NITRO FOR THE VACATED ECW CHAMPIONSHIP IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE CHRIS BENOIT VS. CM PUNK, BUT JOHNNY NITRO IS REPLACING BENOIT, AS BENOIT CANNOT COMPETE DUE TO FAMILY EMERGENCIES A short match, but the outcome of it I was surprised, as I would have never imagined Nitro to win the title after nailing his finishing move on CM Punk to win the vacated ECW Championship. 4/10
SEVENTH MATCH- EDGE {CHAMPION} VS. BATISTA {CHA IN A LAST CHANCE MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP IF BATISTA LOST, HE CAN NEVER HAVE A WORLD TITLE SHOT AS LONG EDGE IS THE CHAMPION This was a great entertaining match, it just makes you keep guessing until the end. During the match, Edge tried to retain his title by a countout, but the GM Teddy Long did not allow it. So the match continues as, Batista nails a Batista Bomb on Edge to the outside. Just as he puts Edge in the ring, he gets counted out, losing the match, & losing his title shot as well as Edge is still the World Heavyweight Champion. 5/10
EIGHT MATCH- MELINA {CHAMPION} VS. CANDICE MICHELLE FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Short match, not really a fan of Diva matches, but thank God that Candice Michelle won, as Melina is the worst champion ever. Candice wins after her spinning kick to become the new WWE Women's Champion. 3/10
NINTH MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. BOBBY LASHLEY VS. RANDY ORTON VS. MICK FOLEY VS. KING BOOKER IN A OPEN CHALLENGE FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP A great match filled with excitement & also a bit of suspense. Hands down to all these 5 men for pulling a classic Night Of Champions event. John Cena survives dramatically after nailing an FU on Mick Foley for the win & to retain his WWE Championship. 6/10
It was an okay event despite it being Night Of Champions as every title was on the line for the first time ever in WWE history. Good event, although some of the matches were rushed & did not take that long, but still an acceptable event.
Overall I'll give it 6/10 & a D+
WWE Judgment Day (2005)
Just a normal & also a good Smackdown event
Once there's always a PPV which Smackdown represents it, you know that it is going to be a good event, & this one was no surprise.
FIRST MATCH- MNM W/ MELINA VS. HARDCORE HOLLY & CHARLIE HAAS FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Hot way to start off the show. This was a pretty good tag team match, although I wish it could off been just a bit better. Also Charlie Haas has improved quite a bit in the ring. MNM nail the Snapshot on Haas for the win & to retain their WWE Tag Team Championship. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- CARLITO W/ MATT MORGAN VS. BIG SHOW A bad & boring match, Carlito does not have that much talent in the ring, while Big Show is always a sloppy wrestler. While the referee is down, Matt Morgan unbelievably picks up the Big Show & nails an F-5 on him, which makes Carlito get the unbelievable & surprising win against the Big Show. 3/10
THIRD MATCH- PAUL London VS. CHAVO GUERRERO FOR THE WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Another thing I love Smackdown more than Raw is because off the Cruiserweights. This match was pretty good & awesome, with both Cruiserweights showing that they can handle well in the ring. London nails the 450 Splash to defeat Chavo & retain his WWE Cruiserweight Championship. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- BOOKER T VS. KURT ANGLE Another nice, long match, both Angle & Booker T have got great chemistry in the ring together. After almost a 15 minute match, Booker T gets a roll-up on Angle for the prestigious win. After the match, Sharmell comes to celebrate with Booker T, only to get handcuffed to the ropes by Angle. Then Booker T comes & handcuffs Angle to the ropes & beats the hell out of him. Sharmell slaps Angle a few times, then kicks him right in the groin before heading to the back with Booker, leaving Angle humiliated & stuck to the ropes. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- ORLANDO JORDAN VS. HEIDENREICH FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP Before the match began, Heidenreich chose a girl from the crowd to be his friend. Slow, sloppy & a bit of a boring match. Orlando Jordan does not have the right material to be a U.S Champion. Orlando Jordan nails a DDT on Heidenriech to win & retain his WWE United States Championship. After the match, Heidenreich & the girl from the crowd march around a bit in the ring. 3/10
SIXTH MATCH- EDDIE GUERRERO VS. REY MYSTERIO This has got to be the most personal match ever. It was an okay match, which took a bit long like 15 to 20 minutes. It was still alright, Mysterio & Guerrero just blow the roof off arena's when they wrestle together. Mysterio wins by disqualification, after Mysterio went for a springboard cross body but Guerrero hit him with a chair. After the match, Eddie beat Mysterio up by slamming him repeatedly on the ribs with a chair, making Mysterio having to be taken on a stretcher. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- JOHN CENA VS. JBL IN AN 'I QUIT' MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP A very sick, long brutal match this was. Which was really entertaining. This main event has made this PPV to be remembered for almost years to come. Hats off to Cena & JBL putting on a classic Smackdown main event here at Judgment Day. Cena was going to hit JBL with a truck steel pipe, but before he could, JBL uttered the words 'I Quit' making Cena win & retain his WWE Championship. 6/10
Pretty good Smackdown PPV, as Smackdown is the greatest show & also better than Raw. Nothing that much wrong with it, as the matches were good, but the US title match & Big Show vs. Carlito were the only least great match on this event, but still a great Smackdown PPV.
Overall I'll give it 7/10 & a C+
Summerslam (2006)
A mix of good matches & some bad ones
This was an okay Summerslam, well what would you expect from the biggest part of the year & summer.
FIRST MATCH- REY MYSTERIO VS. CHAVO GUERRERO Good, okay match to start the show with, it's always a treat when you have Mysterio & Chavo Guerrero in the ring together. But I think the match could of been just a little bit longer, but still good. Vickie Guerrero comes, interferes & slaps Chavo, then knocks Mysterio off the top, which results a brain buster suplex, followed by a Frog Splash by Chavo Guerrero for the win. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- BIG SHOW VS. SABU IN AN EXTREME RULES MATCH FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP Not a bad extreme match, with a lot of cool weapons. There were some botched spots, but it was an okay match, but I wish it went just a bit longer. Big Show wins after Chokeslamming Sabu through a table for the win to retain his ECW Championship. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. HULK HOGAN I wish Randy Orton won this match, but it was not to be as Hulk Hogan remains undefeated at Summerslam. I was surprised to see what a bad match this was as it was supposed to be good. A bit off a disappointing match as Randy Orton almost won but Hulk Hogan had his feet on the rope. Hulk Hogan wins after a Big Boot then a Leg Drop for the win. 3/10
FOURTH MATCH- RIC FLAIR VS. MICK FOLEY IN A 'I QUIT' MATCH Very brutal, gruesome, exciting match you name it. This is what Hardcore is all about. Hats off to Ric Flair & Mick Foley for pulling on a good old classic slobberknocker. Both men are heavily busted open & bleeding in this match. Melina comes to try & help out Mick Foley. Ric Flair gets a barb-wired bat & gouges it at Foley's eyes to make him say 'I Quit' for the win. 7/10
FIFTH MATCH- KING BOOKER W/ SHARMELL VS. BATISTA FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Pretty slow, & a bit of a boring match. Batista uses his own moves while King Booker tries some dirty moves in this match to turn up the pace a bit. Batista is about to nail a Powerbomb when Sharmell interferes which draws a disqualification for King Booker. Batista wins by DQ but King Booker is still the World Heavyweight Champion much to Batista's dismay. 4/10
SIXTH MATCH- DX VS. VINCE & SHANE MCMAHON Before the match started, Vince McMahon called these superstars Mr. Kennedy, William Regal, Finally, Spirit Squad, Big Show {who chokeslammed HHH through the announce table} & Umaga {who started brawling with Kane backstage} to take out DX before the match officially started. This was a pretty mediocre match, as Michaels got beaten up by the McMahon's by a large majority of the match. But HHH recovers & Michaels nails Sweet Chin Music mid air on Shane. While Michaels nails Vince with Sweet Chin Music, then HHH nails Vince with a Pedigree for the win in this epic match. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- JOHN CENA VS. EDGE W/ LITA FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP THE TITLE CAN CHANGE HANDS ON A DISQUALIFICATION OR A COUNTOUT Very good mainevent match which could off took longer, but Edge-Cena seriously pull great matches any time they wrestle. Great match, but could off took longer. Behind the referee, Edge nails Cena on the back with brass knuckles for the win to retain his WWE Championship in a controversial way. 5/10
Good Summerslam, which had a few flaws in the matches, & a couple of slow paced matches, but most excellent & good matches. Great Summerslam as every Summerslam is full of great wrestling action & surprises. Thumbs up.
Overall I'll give it 7/10 & a C+
Royal Rumble (2000)
A mediocre Royal Rumble
This was not the best Royal Rumble that I watched, although it was some what entertaining, it was not the best that I have seen.
FIRST MATCH- TAZZ VS. KURT ANGLE Not bad to start the show off, but a very short match, nothing good or special in this match. Tazz wins after Kurt Angle passed out to the Tazzmission. 2/10
SECOND MATCH- DUDLEY BOYS VS. HARDY BOYS IN A TAG TEAM TABLES MATCH Okay tables match, but it got dragged a bit onwards in my opinion. Hardy Boys win after Jeff hardy does a dangerous leap from the top off the stage & a Swanton Bomb on Bubba through a table for the win. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- THE ACOLYTES {BRADSHAW & FAROOQ} VS. ROAD DOGG & BILLY GUNN FOR THE WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP What a short match, even though the Acolytes dominating a whole majority of the match, it is such a short match. Some team called Mean Street Posse interfere, making Billy Gunn Road Dogg & Billy Gunn win to retain their WWF Tag Team Championship. 2/10
FOURTH MATCH- HARDCORE HOLLY VS. CHRIS JERICHO VS. CHYNA FOR THE WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Not a bad triple-threat match, but could of been somewhat way better in my opinion. Jericho nails a Lionsault on Chyna for the win, & to be the right holder of the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
FIFTH MATCH- TRIPLE H W/ STEPHANIE MCMAHON VS. MICK FOLEY IN A STREET FIGHT MATCH FOR THE WWF CHAMPIONSHIP Entertaining & also brutal match, HHH bleeds throughout the match while Mick Foley delivers the punishment throughout the match. Even Rock interferes during the match. But HHH overcomes the brutal match & Pedigrees Mick Foley on thumbtacks for the win & to retain his WWF Championship. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- 30 MAN ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH Not really a bad Royal Rumble match, but also nothing special either. It was entertaining as usual. The best is to be seen yet. Rock head scissors Big Show over the top rope for the win & will be going to main event Wrestlemania 2000. After the match, Big Show tosses Rock over, but it doesn't matter, Rock still won the Rumble & will be going to Wrestlemania for a title shot. 5/10
Okay Royal Rumble, I have to say that I was entertained. But also a bit disappointed as the lack of some matches. But still it was a decent Rumble, with Rock being the right winner for the Royal Rumble.
Overall I'll give it 5/10 & a D
WWF Rebellion (2001)
An okay event
This was an okay event, nothing bad & nothing special. It was okay.
FIRST MATCH- EDGE VS. Christian IN A STEEL CAGE MATCH FOR THE WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Not a bad match, but in my opinion could of been a bit more better. Christian is about to escape, when Edge ties his shoes to the cage & climbs over & out of the steel cage to win & to retain his WWF Intercontinental Championship. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- SCOTTY 2 HOTTY VS. HURRICANE I've got to admit, this was really a good & enjoyable match. Great wrestling from both of these Cruiserweights. Scotty 2 Hotty wins after his finishing move The Worm. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- BIG SHOW VS. DDP {DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE} I've got to say that DDP did try hard to topple down Big Show, but it was not to be. It was a pretty short match but to me, it was surprisingly a bit entertaining. Big Show wins after a Chokeslam. 3/10
FOURTH MATCH- DUDLEY BOYS VS. HARDY BOYS VS. APA IN A TRIPLE-THREAT TAG TEAM ELIMINATION MATCH FOR THE WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Good match, it was pretty entertaining as the three most dominant teams in WWF face off against each other. Dudley Boys nail the 3-D on one of the Hardy Boys to win & to retain their WWF Tag Team Championship. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- WILLIAM REGAL VS. TAJIRI A bit too short to amount to anything. William Regal wins after the Power Of The Punch which is his special move. 3/10
SIXTH MATCH- CHRIS JERICHO VS. KURT ANGLE FOR THE WCW CHAMPIONSHIP Good match between these two, as they have great chemistry when it comes to wrestling in the ring. Jericho wins but I forgot how to retain his WCW Championship. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- TORRIE Wilson & LITA VS. MIGHTY MOLLY & STACY KEIBLER Bad, sloppy & boring match between these Divas. Torrie Wilson & Lita win but I forgot how. 3/10
EIGHT MATCH- ROCK VS. STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN FOR THE WWF CHAMPIONSHIP The long awaited Wrestlemania X7 rematch was here. It was a good match, noticing the fact that this is Rock's first match since returning, & also this match has DQ's in them as it had not at Wrestlemania X7. The referee goes down, which Jericho comes to help out the Rock, but accidentally hots the Rock with his WCW belt. Austin covers & gets a 3 count to win & retain his WWF Championship. 5/10
An okay event, nothing really to complain about, it had good matches & some that were bad. Pretty good event which keeps delivering the perfect hype towards Survivor Series.
Overall I'll give it 6/10 & a C
WrestleMania X-Seven (2001)
This was a unbelievably great Wrestlemania
This was a really great Wrestlemania. Not one thing to complain & not one thing bad about it. Totally fantastic & excellent.
FIRST MATCH- CHRIS JERICHO VS. WILLIAM REGAL FOR THE WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Good way to start off Wrestlemania. Good match as well if it only took a little more time, then it would of been good. Jericho wins after a Lionsault on Regal for the win & to retain his WWF Intercontinental Championship. 4/10
SECOND MATCH- APA {BRADSHAW & FAROOQ W/ JACQUELINE} & TAZZ VS. RIGHT TO CENSOR {BULL BUCHANAN, GODFATHER, VAL VENIS & STEVEN RICHARDS} IN A 8 MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Good tag team match, I really enjoyed it. Nothing bad about it to complain. APA & Tazz win after a Clothesline From Hell by Bradshaw on one of the Right To Censor members for the win. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- EDDIE GUERRERO VS. TEST FOR THE WWF European CHAMPIONSHIP Test showed most of his toughness in this match, but the match did not go for very long, but it was still okay. Perry Saturn & Dean Malenko interfere during the match which leads to Eddie Guerrero nailing a Frog Splash on Test for the win & to become the new WWF European Champion. 4/10
FOURTH MATCH- RAVEN VS. BIG SHOW VS. KANE IN A TRIPLE-THREAT HARDCORE MATCH FOR THE WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP Great Hardcore match which showed the excitement for the match when they started brawling backstage. I can't believe Raven isn't even scared to go up against big wrestlers like Big Show & Kane. Kane knocks Big Show & Raven into electrical equipment next to the stage, Kane covers Big Show for the 3 count to become the new WWF Hardcore Champion. 5/10
FIFTH MATCH- KURT ANGLE VS. CHRIS BENOIT Great technical match between these two, whenever you have Benoit & Angle in the ring wrestling, you know your in for a slobber knocker of a match. Angle wins after a roll-up. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- CHYNA VS. IVORY FOR THE WWF WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Wow, this match was not long, but it was entertaining & funny the way Chyna showed her absolute toughness against Ivory. Chyna slams Ivory & covers her for the 3 count to win the WWF Women's Championship & beat Ivory in like 3 minutes. 3/10
SEVENTH MATCH- DUDLEY BOYS VS. HARDY BOYS VS. EDGE & Christian IN A 3 WAY TLC MATCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS Unbelievable, shocking, fantastic & excellent. You know not one word can describe how AWESOME this match is. The best match ever, & I mean ever in the history of WWF & WWE. There are so many highlights in this match, like Edge spearing Jeff Hardy off a ladder, or Jeff Hardy nailing a Swanton Bomb off a high ladder on Bubba on a table below. I have never seen a ladder match that had so many sick spots & high risking moves like this one. Edge & Christian overcome this brutal match & grab the title belts hanging high to become the new World Tag Team Champions. 10/10
EIGHT MATCH- TRIPLE H VS. UNDERTAKER Another good match, which showed that HHH & Undertaker can wrestle well against each other in the ring. The best highlight in this match is when HH & Undertaker brawl in the crowd & up a stage, where Undertaker Chokeslams HHH from the top & all the way down to the floor, that was sick & awesome. They fight back in the ring {Where the referee who was knocked out recovers}. HHH pounds Undertaker in the corner, but Undertaker nails a Last Ride for the win. 6/10
NINTH MATCH- SHANE MCMAHON VS. VINCE MCMAHON IN A STREET FIGHT MATCH SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE: MICK FOLEY Good match, but I was expecting a bit more since it was Wrestlemania & it was son vs. father. Shane McMahon puts Vince in the corner, then nails a Van Dam Terminator from the other corner on Vince for the win while he had a garbage can in front of his face. 5/10
TENTH MATCH- GIMMICK BATTLE ROYAL IN THIS BATTLE ROYAL IT HAD LEGENDS LIKE SEARGAENT SLAUGHTER, IRON SHEIK, DOINK THE CLOWN, REPO MAN, KAMALA & OTHER LEGENDS WHICH I DON'T REALLY KNOW SPECIAL GUEST COMMENTATORS: MEAN GENE ORKELUND & BOBBY 'THE BRAIN' HEENAN Good battle royal, I really enjoyed it since the age of these legends were very familiar. Iron Sheik eliminates Seargeant Slaughter last to win the Gimmick Battle Royal. After the match, Seargeant Slaughter takes his frustrations for losing right on Iron Sheik by choking him out with the Cobra Clutch. 5/10
ELEVENTH MATCH- ROCK VS. STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN IN A NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH FOR THE WWF CHAMPIONSHIP Very good match, the futures of WWE & WWF are fighting against each other in the main event of the biggest spectacle Wrestlemania. Very good match, as I have no complaint or problem with the match whatsoever. Vince McMahon comes in the ring & helps out Stone Cold Steve Austin to nail Rock numerous times on the back with a steel chair, then covers for the 3 count to get the win & also to win the WWF Championship. After the match, a bloodied Austin celebrates with Mr. McMahon with a beer as this is a shocking & surprising way to end Wrestlemania. 10/10
Great Wrestlemania, so far this is the best I've seen & also Wrestlemania XX. but still good. But hands up to definitely the best match of the night is the TLC match, never ever have I seen such a ladder match where they risk everything just to win a title. Hardy for risking his body for the fans & still not winning the title, may God bless him for that. Thumbs up to a very great & excellent Wrestlemania, as this Wrestlemania will go down in the history books.
Overall I'll give it 10/10 & a A+
WWE Armageddon (2002)
The only best Armageddon PPV I watched
This was the only best Armageddon PPV I watched, which surprised me since Armageddon is such a bad event.
FIRST MATCH- CJRIS JERICHO & Christian VS. BOOKER T & GOLDUST VS. DUDLEY BOYS VS. WILLIAM REGAL & LANCE STORM IN A FATAL 4 WAY ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Nice way to start the show as these teams get a shot at the Tag Team titles. Jericho & Christian are last with Booker T & Goldust, Booker T nails Jericho with the Scissors Kick for the win & for him & Goldust to become the new World Tag Team Champions. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- EDGE VS. A-TRAIN Why did they have to bring A-Train back? I mean he is such a bad wrestler & most of his matches are boring. Edge wins by disqualification after A-Train nailed Edge with the chair. After the match, Edge capitalized, & got a chair & beat A-Train with it getting revenge for injuring his tag team partner Rey Mysterio. 3/10
THIRD MATCH- CHRIS BENOIT VS. EDDIE GUERRERO W/ CHAVO GUERRERO WINNER GETS A FUTURE TITLE SHOT Good match, well what would you expect from wrestlers like Guerrero & Benoit. Both these men know each other so well & they also have great chemistry in the ring when it comes for them two to wrestle each other. Benoit makes Eddie Guerrero tap out to the Crossface to win & get a future title shot. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- BATISTA W/ RIC FLAIR VS. KANE Well this match would of been something if it took just a bit longer. But still nothing really special or interesting in this match up. Ric Flair distracts the referee, which makes Batista to nail Kane with a Powerbomb for the win. 4/10
FIFTH MATCH- VICTORIA VS. JACQUELINE VS. TRISH STRATUS IN A TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Bad, sloppy & boring match. You know, I really think that Diva's should have more time in the ring rather than being just eye candy. Victoria wins after knocking Trish with her belt, then covering Jacqueline for the win & to retain her WWE Women's Championship. 3/10
SIXTH MATCH- BIG SHOW W/ PAUL HEYMAN VS. KURT ANGLE FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP Well okay match, when you have Angle who is a great technical wrestler but not better than Benoit, then you have Big Show who most of his matches are big letdowns. The referee gets knocked down for A short while, which leads to Lesnar coming & nailing an F-5 on Big Show, the referee recovers as Angle covers for the 3 count & to win the WWE Championship. 4/10
SEVENTH MATCH- TRIPLE H W/ RIC FLAIR VS. SHAWN MICHAELS IN A 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP FIRST MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH SECOND MATCH: STEEL CAGE MATCH THIRD MATCH: LADDER MATCH Good & also brutal match. HHH & Michaels pull out great matches when they fight against each other. HHH wins the first fall while Michaels wins the second fall. Michaels is on top of the ladder & is about to grab his World title, when HHH comes & pushes Michaels right onto a set of tables, then HHH grabs the belt to win & become the new World Heavyweight Champion. 5/10
Armageddon normally is a bad event with some matches that do not make any sense & that are also boring. But this Armageddon was okay, the only best Armageddon that I watched.
Overall I'll give it 6/10 & a C
WWE Survivor Series (2002)
The Elimination Chamber match debuts at Survivor Series
The Elimination Chamber match debuts here at Survivor Series, where 6 men go at it in the first ever brutal structure for the World Heavyweight Championship.
FIRST MATCH- 3 MINUTE WARNING {RICO, JAMAL & ROSEY} VS. JEFF HARDY, BUBBA RAY DUDLEY & SPIKE DUDLEY IN A 6-MAN TABLES MATCH Good way to start off the show, a tables match is an okay match with nothing bad about it. Bubba Ray & Rico are the last men, shockingly D-Von Dudley comes & does a 3-D with Bubba on Rico through a table to win the match. It looks like the Dudley Boys are back. 5/10
SECOND MATCH- JAMIE NOBLE W/ NIDIA VS. BILLY KIDMAN FOR THE WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP A very fast paced & excellent Cruiserweight match-up. This is what Cruiserweight is all about. Billy Kidman nails the Shooting Star Press on Jamie Noble for the win & to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. 5/10
THIRD MATCH- VICTORIA VS. TRISH STRATUS IN A FIRST EVER HARDCORE WOMEN'S MATCH FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Well what do you know, a Hardcore Women's match, man wrestling rules for sure. It would of been a pretty sloppy match, but including weapons in it makes it more interesting. Victoria wins but I forgot how to become the new WWE Women's Champion. 4/10
FOURTH MATCH- EDGE & REY MYSTERIO VS. LOS GUERREROS VS. KURT ANGLE & CHRIS BENOIT IN A 3 WAY ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Easily & surprisingly the best match of the night, no kidding. This match was so fast paced that you can hardly even keep up with the action that is happening. Los Guerreros overcome the teams & win but I forgot how to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. 6/10
FIFTH MATCH- BROCK LESNAR W/ PAUL HEYMAN VS. BIG SHOW FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP It was a boring match which didn't really take long, but I've got to be honest, the match was becoming more interesting when Brock Lesnar unbelievably picked up the Big Show & nailed an F-5 that not only shocked the fans in attendance, but also shocked me. Paul Heyman pulls the referee out of the ring before he makes the 3 count, Lesnar chases Heyman in the ring which leads to Big Show nailing Brock Lesnar with a chair followed by a Chokeslam on the chair for the win & to become the new WWE Champion. But the shock in this match is that Paul Heyman has betrayed & screwed Brock Lesnar. 4/10
SIXTH MATCH- TRIPLE H VS. BOOKER T VS. ROB VAN DAM VS. CHRIS JERICHO VS. KANE VS. SHAWN MICHAELS IN A FIRST EVER 6 MAN ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP The main event is here & the Elimination Chamber debuts here at Survivor Series, this will definitely be in the history books. A great match & a bit brutal which off course you would expect from a match like this. HHH & Michaels are the last ones in the brutal structure. Michaels nails the Sweet Chin Music on HHH for the win, as Michaels is not only the sole survivor in this brutal match, but is the World Heavyweight Champion as well. 5/10
This Survivor Series will definitely go down in the history books as all Championships have changed hands here tonight. Great Survivor Series as it is definitely watchable & recommendable to anyone.
Overall I'll give it 8/10 & a B+
WWE Rebellion (2002)
To say the truth, there really is nothing to see in this event
To say the truth, there;s nothing to see in this event as it is like watching Smackdown. except as a PPV. But don't get me wrong I like Smackdown better than Raw.
FIRST MATCH- MATT HARDY VS. BOOKER T IN A RAW VS. SMACKDOWN INTERPROMOTIONAL MATCH Okay match, but these two know each other very well in the ring, this match could of been better if it took a bit more longer. Booker T wins after a Book End, then a Scissors Kick. 4/10
SECOND MATCH- FUNAKI VS. CRASH HOLLY This is a Cruiserweight match, & it could be way better if more cool moves & acrobatics were involved. Funaki wins after a roll-up. 3/10
THIRD MATCH- REY MYSTERIO VS. TAJIRI VS. JAMIE NOBLE W/ NIDIA IN A TRIPLE-THREAT ELIMINATION MATCH FOR THE WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Nice, good match. Cruiserweights should wrestle exactly the way like this. Okay & acceptable match. Jamie Noble wins after getting a roll-up on Mysterio & grabbing Nidia's hand for leverage to get the win & retain his WWE Cruiserweight Championship. 5/10
FOURTH MATCH- RON SIMMONS & REVEREND D-VON DUDLEY VS. THE BIG VALBOWSKI & CHUCK PALUMBO Pretty brief tag team match which did not take very long. Reverend D-Von Dudley & Ron Simmons get the win, but I forgot how. 3/10
FIFTH MATCH- RIKISHI VS. A-TRAIN IN A KISS MY ASS MATCH LOSER HAS TO KISS HIS OPPONENTS BACKSIDE {ASS} Pretty boring match, but the stipulation of the match is funny. Rikishi wins but I forgot how, after the match A-Train refuses to kiss Rikishi's ass, so Rikishi gets him with the Stink Face. Pretty funny. 3/10
SIXTH MATCH- JOHN CENA & DAWN MARIE VS. BILLY KIDMAN & TORRIE Wilson IN A TAG TEAM INTERGENDER MATCH Boring match, & there is no chemistry between any of these superstars, maybe except a little bit for Dawn Marie & Torrie Wilson. But still boring & sloppy match. Billy Kidman & Torrie Wilson win after Billy Kidman nails a Shooting Star Press on Cena for the win. After the match, Torrie Wilson kisses Billy Kidman. 3/10
SEVENTH MATCH- KURT ANGLE & CHRIS BENOIT VS. LOS GUERREROS FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Pretty good tag team match, off course mostly enjoyable by the great Angle & Benoit. In this match you can even see the rivalry almost heating up between Angle & Benoit as tag champs, they just cannot get used to each other. Angle & Benoit win by making one of the Guerrero's tap out, but I forgot which one to retain their WWE Tag Team Championship. After the match, Eddie & Chavo Guerrero try to steal the tag belts, but get caught & run away. 5/10
EIGHT MATCH- EDGE VS. BROCK LESNAR & PAUL HEYMAN IN A 1 ON 2 HANDICAP MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP IF EDGE PINS HEYMAN, THEN HE WINS THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP ALSO IF EDGE PINS LESNAR, HE ALSO WINS THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP It would of been an okay match between Lesnar & Edge, if they did not involve Heyman in the match. But still it was alright as Heyman almost gets pinned during the match. Brock Lesnar nails a F-5 on Edge for the win & to retain his WWE Championship. 5/10
There really is nothing special on this PPV, it will be forgotten soon enough, or not even mentioned.
Overall I'll give it 5/10 & a D
WrestleMania 23 (2007)
Just watched it today
I just ordered Wrestlemania 23 today & watched it with my neighbors, & let me tell you, I was not at all disappointed. Undertaker finally winning a championship in 5 years, Cena retaining his title again & Mr. Kennedy being known now as Mr. Money In The Bank.
FIRST MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. JEFF HARDY VS. KING BOOKER W/ SHARMELL VS. EDGE VS. MATT HARDY VS. MR. KENNEDY VS. CM PUNK VS. FINLAY IN A 8 MAN MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH WINNER GETS TO CHOOSE ANY TIME TO HAVE A TITLE SHOT IN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS What a smashing, shocker way to open up Wrestlemania, an 8 man ladder match. This ladder match had so many sick spots, especially when Jeff Hardy nailed a leg drop off the top off the ladder on Edge who was on a ladder himself. Both men got so hurt, that they were sent to the back by medical people. Mr. Kennedy overcomes the odds, & climbs up & grabs the briefcase, as Mr. Kennedy is known as Mr. Money In The Bank. 6/10
SECOND MATCH- KANE VS. GREAT KHALI I knew this match was going to be bad, but it did pick up the pace a bit. But the shocking highlight in the match was when Kane got his hook, & hit Khali in the groin with it. Then Kane picked up the big giant & body slammed him. But Khali fought back & nailed a big slam for the win. 4/10
THIRD MATCH- CHRIS BENOIT VS. MVP FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSIP Lots of great technical wrestling here, also good counters. The match was a bit slow, but there is nothing really to complain about, only if there was more time for these two 2 wrestle. Benoit makes MVP tap out to retain his WWE United STates Championship. 6/10
FOURTH MATCH- BATISTA VS. UNDERTAKER FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP I can't believe that they put this match in the middle of the card, I mean it was supposed to be the main event. But this match was really great & exciting. Props to Undertaker doing a big dive from out of the ring right onto Batista. Undertaker even broke out of the Batista Bomb, while Batista broke out of the Last Ride & Chokeslam. Undertaker finally nails a Tombstone for the win & not only is 15-0 at Wrestlemania, but finally gets to win a championship for the first time in 5 years. Also thank God that Undertaker is the champion, because I cannot stand Batista as being the World Champion. 6/10
FIFTH MATCH- ECW ORIGINALS {ROB VAN DAM, SABU, TOMMY DREAMER & SANDMAN} VS. NEW BREED {ELIJAH BURKE, MATT STRIKER, MARCUS DAR VON & KEVIN THORN W/ ARIEL} IN A 8 MAN TAG TEAM MATCH ECW superstars did pretty well in this match, which came as a surprise to me as ECW originally sucks. Great match in my opinion, but it needed to be a bit longer. But still great match. RVD nails a Five Star Frog Splash on Matt Striker to win. 5/10
SIXTH MATCH- DONALD TRUMP {BOBBY LASHLEY FIGHTING FOR HIM} VS. VINCE MCMAHON {UMAGA W/ ARMANDO ELJANDRO ESTRADA FIGHTING FOR HIM} IN A BILLIONAIRE VS. BILLIONAIRE MATCH SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE: STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN THE BILLIONAIRE WHO'S REPRESENTATIVE LOSES WILL GET HIS HEAD SHAVED BALD Great match, really good. Stone Cold gets knocked down by Umaga, which leads to Vince & Shane McMahon to interfere as Shane nails a Van Dam Terminator on Lashley, then reveals that Shane is a referee. Just when Shane is about to count Lashley to 3, Stone Cold knocks him out. Stunners Umaga which leads to Lashley nailing him with a Spear for the win as Vince Mcmahon will get his head shaved bald. After the match Vince McMahon tries to run away, but Lashley catches him, puts him in the ring & Donald Trump & Lashley shave Vince's hair all bald in the most greatest Wrestlemania moment that I can remember. Then Stone Cold nails Donald Trump with a Stunner, before leaving. 5/10
SEVENTH MATCH- MELINA VS. ASHLEY IN A LUMBERJILL MATCH FOR TE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Okay Diva matches are boring yes, this one here is an example of how boring Diva matches are. I mean this match took like 3 minutes, didn't even go any longer. Melina wins to retain her WWE Women's Championship, although I didn't really see how. 2/10
EIGHT MATCH- JOHN CENA VS. SHAWN MICHAELS FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP John Cena's entrance was him driving a cool Mustang, & slamming through the Wrestlemania arena as his entrance, really cool. Alright, the match started slow, then picked up a great pace at the end, both Cena & Michaels were busted open. Okay match, really nothing to complain about, as both these men tried to put on a great show, & successfully they did. Cena makes Michaels tap out to the STFU to retain his WWE Championship. Cena starts celebrating with fireworks all over the arena, as Wrestlemania goes off the air. 5/10
Another great Wrestlemania, another Mr. Money In The Bank winner. Undertaker continues his winning Wrestlemania streak in a big way this time, winning the World Heavyweight Championship, & John Cena again retains his title in a hard match with the legendary Shawn Michaels, & Vince McMahon is now a bald billionaire, oh what am I kidding, Donald Trump is richer than McMahon. Thumbs up to another great Wrestlemania.
Overall I'll give it 7/10 & a C+
