The Craft (1996)
Actually has basis in Wicca
It's actually a pretty good movie, with a basis in Wiccan practices and beliefs, although the effects are exaggerated. I also think it's neat that the girl who played Nancy is actually Wiccan as well.
Of Mice and Men (1992)
It was okay
It just wasn't my kind of movie, but it wasn't too bad. It certainly is a good representation of the great depression and what it was like to live in those times. It stuck pretty close to the book as well.
Ghostbusters (2016)
I regret watching it
Do yourself a favour and don't watch this crap. Feminism is good and all but the extreme side of it ruined this movie. It's so bad that people don't even want to acknowledge it's existence. It is NOT considered Canon. They ruined the wholesome humour that the original movies had through censorship, and they the plot through forced inclusiveness rather than keeping things relevant. It's basically a crappy copy of the first movie. Film production companies should try making films based off of things things haven't already been done because you can't beat perfection.
Holes (2003)
Pretty good
It was pretty good. When I found out they made a movie out of the book Holes I was pretty excited. A movie that kids and family can enjoy. The problem with making books into movies is often that they try to squish too much into one instead of just doing what one can without cutting too much out. I think the people who made Holes into a movie did an excellent job. I also think it helped that it was a short story.
City of Ember (2008)
Underrated
This is a great post-apocalyptic film for kids and or family to see. It's well written and well made.
Supernatural (2005)
A great series...that went on too long
This series was really well done. Really good writing, special effects and so on... Kinda scary. Definitely worth watching for the first while, but seriously this series went on for FIFTEEN years. After a while I needed to take a break from it, and in later seasons the writing lost it's shine. You could tell that the writers were running out of ideas so they finally ended it.
Happily Ever After (1989)
Not enough people have seen this
It truly is a great sequel to Snow White and The Seven Dwarves. More people should watch it.
Pretty in Pink (1986)
Decent enough for what it is
Is it worth watching? Yes. Was it good? Yes. Was it unique? Not really.
This movie has a predictable plot but it was well executed. I'm sure little girls will love this film and maybe even older ones will too. The acting was good, the costumes were good, and the dialogue was good. On a personal note I actually watched this as a kid but couldn't remember what movie had the record store for years and was glad to re-watch it.
The Neverending Story (1984)
Definitely worth watching
Wonderfully written, wonderfully done. It's one of the best movies to see growing up and or with the family. It captures a world beyond wonder and fantasy. Dive in and discover the meaning behind The NeverEnding Story.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
The dialogue and plot sucked
The only good thing about the movie was the special effects. I'd say the dialogue was like it was written by a high schooler for a high school play or English assignment but that would be an insult to high schoolers. The climax was anti-climatic and bespoke poor planning. I've read young adult books with power fantasies, and dialogue that's less awkward and better written than this.
