Lovesick (2014)
Surprisingly sweet and adorable with lots of heart
I started this show as a recommendation from watching shows like Miranda and Coupling and the premise is bit shallow with this guy contacting all his exes because he has an STI- but it ends up being this heartfelt journey of self discovery with a great supporting cast who really grow into their roles, especially Luke at the end of season 3 who is so much more layered than we think. It's funny, touching, and even sad at times and super underrated. I love the best friends falling in love premise and going back to a past experience in different episodes to really be able to see the growth in the characters. Great show!!
Tell Me Lies (2022)
Nothing Special at All
Here we go, another tv show about a toxic college relationship with way too much pointless sex. Don't waste your time with this one because it's nothing special. The main characters are completely unlikable and flat in their acting- it's hard to care about them or their storylines because they are so unlikable. The main male character, Stephen, comes across as slimy and almost rapey at times and you have a hard time believing that the main female character, Lucy, is drawn to him, and Stephen and Lucy's chemistry is lukewarm at best. The writers go overboard to show how unappealing and toxic this character is almost to a laughable degree. The show lacks focus and is confusing to watch, almost making you wish it was already over. Moreover, it romanticizes toxic relationships, and to the demographic it is intended for, it sets a bad example for women as victims. Don't waste your time.
Everything's Gonna Be All White (2022)
Must watch
This is a must watch in your face needed series. Lots of education and the perspective of black people of white people is essential because the representation of black people is based on racist stereotypes. White people need to take a seat and sit with why they are uncomfortable with this series.
The West Wing: The Supremes (2004)
One of the best
This episode is breathtaking and perfect
During the tumultuous political climate we are in now, this episode is a reminder how we can come together. Expertly acted by Glenn Close and William Fictner, it's so awesome to see the brilliant interaction between political opposites and still be able to agree and challenge each other. It's especially touching to watch after the death of our own liberal lion woman justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The moment where Evelyn Lang signs a copy of the 14th amendment for Toby's infant daughter as the first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court is amazing.
Everyone should watch this episode
My Best Friend's Wedding (1997)
Hard to Watch
This movie is hard to watch, filled with embarrassing moments and seeing Julia Roberts on the wrong side. Especially after 25 years.
