3D Kanojo Real Girl (2018– )
10/10
Loved All of It.
20 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Based off a popular manga of the same name 3D Kanojo real girl better known as Real girl is a romantic comedy anime that gives us the opportunity to look at what will happen if a high school boy shunned by his fellow classmates for being an otaku was to encounter the beautiful but badly reputed troublemaker Iroha and end up receiving a most unexpected answer to a question that he asked merely as a joke. The first episode of the series made quite the impression on me because of its unique premise of paring an otaku with limited social skills with a popular and beautiful girl that would usually be out of his reach and was interesting enough that I kept it on my watch list and I'm glad that I did.

Taking place in a modern-day Japan the overall story of 3D Kanojo girl follows the life of Hikari Tsutsui a high school student that while kind-hearted and decent is shunned by his fellow classmates for being an otaku and his encounter with the beautiful but ill-reputed high school girl Iroha Igaraishi and the surprising romantic relationship that they both embark on thanks to a daring question and a most unexpected answer. As Hikari and Iroha embark on their most unexpected relationship both must learn to break out of the shells that they have hidden behind all their lives and learn that to find what true love is they must first learn to accept the strengths and flaws of both their personalities and overcome the barriers that isolation in society have created in their lives. In overall 3D Kanojo girl was an anime that I really enjoyed watching with its main strengths being its unique premise, strong story, excellent characters, excellent voice acting and its integration of various but related themes into the story. While the premise of having an average guy falling in love with one of the schools most popular girls is itself not unusual within the anime world I felt that the unique premise that the series introduced to the concept made it sound even more interesting than the base concept something that definitely caught my interest. Within Japan, the term Otaku is a derogatory term unique to Japan that is used to label people that have obsessive interests in aspects of Japanese popular culture such as anime and manga. The negative nature that this term conveys means that people often look down on otaku and view them with suspicion and often causing distances to form between them and the person in question. Having the main character as an otaku that falls in love with a girl I felt was an interesting premise exactly because the lack of knowledge on basic human to human interactions is something that's unknown to most otaku and seeing Hikari not only try to confront this overwhelming wall that stands between him and Iroha but make it work was something that really resonated with me.

The overall story for the series I felt was one of its main strong points with its focus naturally being the relationship between Hikari and Iroha after their first meeting. True to most otaku Hikari, in the beginning, was someone that adored the world of anime and manga and as a result, bore a distinct dislike of human girls and interactions with humans that don't share his passion which combined with his lack of social skills made him an outcast within the class that he was part off. Until Hikari met Iroha his life had always been stable and revolved around anime and his passion for it and being able to share his passion with like-minded friends like Itou. But the fortunate encounter between Hikari and Iroha resulted in the birth of not just the unlikeliest of romantic relationships between them but also created within Hikari a desire to change his personality and for the first time in his life embrace the world that he had for so long been ignoring and as a result learn what it actually means to be a human being. While the relationship between Hikari and Iroha is anything but smooth sailing seeing them both work so hard to overcome the many challenges both physical and mental that laid in their path as they try to understand each other's personalities was something that I thought the story handled really well. But understanding comes in many forms especially when related to love and being able to bond and connect with your other half on an emotional level is just as important a fact that I thought the story dealt with relatively well in showing the secret insecurities that both Iroha and Hikari confronted and eventually overcome as their relationship developed and blossomed. While the development of Iroha and Hikari via their relationship was, of course, the main focus of the story with it comes a secondary aspect that's just as important as the main one which is how the rest of the school and their classmates and later friends view them. With few exceptions, most of their classmates viewed the couple with scorn not understanding why and how Iroha ended up as a couple with someone like Hikari. But as their relationship develops and Hikari and Iroha's hearts start to gradually open as they overcome challenges this sense of hatred gradually starts to vanish as for the first time they can see that both are trying hard to overcome the many things that were holding them back. Watching the opinions and attitudes of the supporting cast of the series change as they bore witness to Hikari's evolution as a character and seeing them gradually realise their error and become friends with him instead of hating him was something that I really enjoyed seeing because it meant that Hikari's attempts to improve himself had succeeded.

Overall 3D Kanojo girl was a series that I really enjoyed watching with its unique premise, story and character development being its best points. The gradual understanding between Iroha and Hikari of the fact that love is not just about physical attraction but also an emotional attachment to the person that you love was something that I really enjoyed seeing and makes you realise just how deep your love for someone can be. As a final score, I would say that 3D Kanojo girl deserves a final score of 10/10.

Roohi (2021)
6/10
Hmmm...
12 March 2021
In the 2018 'Stree', Bollywood gave us A Ghost Who Walks, her twisted 'ultey' feet leaving tracks of gleeful subversion in the small town she haunts. A few hiccups notwithstanding, 'Stree' was a sharp feminist comment on the age-old fear of strong, desirous women. With the same producer and lead actor toplining 'Roohi', this week's new release in theatres, I was hoping for an encore. Sadly, the Dinesh Vijan-Rajkummar Rao's horror comedy is just plain horrible, with not one laugh in sight. There's nothing funny about 'pakdaai shaadi', in which young women are kidnapped and forced into unwanted marriages. Every time a film decides to bring it up, it makes you cringe. Why would a film in this day and age want to give space to this 'tradition' that should have been deep-sixed long back? 'Roohi' spends too much of its opening in setting up one such 'kidnap', for the benefit of a naive, open-mouthed 'gora' played by Alexx O'Nell, which brings together a couple of small-town layabouts, Bhawra played by Rajkummar Rao, and Kattani, played by Varun Sharma, and a shy young woman Roohi, played by Janhvi Kapoor, and deposits them in the middle of a jungle, for no good reason. A muscle-bound hood played by Manav Vij, shows up once in a while. Why? We never quite get it. The characters mumble, and fumble, and it's all a jumble. There's something up with Roohi. The two fellows soon discover that she is a shape-shifter, switching from a whisper to a roar whenever she feels like it. There was potential to this idea: a woman is never just one thing, or another. She has as much right to be many entities, as anyone else. But the film squanders it with great determination, and tasteless jokes. What's missing is a coherent plot and writing. All we get is one cringe-inducing sequence after the next 'jhaad-phoonk', exorcism, women in chains, where we are treated to problematic lines: when, when will mainstream movies stop terming wives 'chudails'? No, it never was funny; the usage now just arouses fury. Just tossing in one line as a disclaimer that the film doesn't encourage superstition, is not a buy-out. Neither is the reliable Rao's presence, usually a guarantee of quality. Sharma's brand of dialogue delivery already feels jaded. Kapoor tries gamely, but never gets a break-out right till the end. This is all I have to say.

Enola Holmes (2020)

Holmes to the Rescue
6 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It is set in the background of early 1880s in England. It starts when Enola Holmes , Sherlock's teen sister-discovers her mother missing, she sets off to find her, becoming a super-sleuth in her own right as she outwits her famous brother and unravels a dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord. In my opinion Mille Bobby Brown is excellent, Sam Claflin is extraordinary and Henry Cavil is being Henry Cavil. The Production is great, the story is heart warming but the mystery is not to much.See the spin off with Henry Cavil as Sherlock Holmes is a mind blown. These universes of Sherlock is going wider and wider with each actor setting a different image as Sherlock. Where Benedict Cumberbatch sets a sly and mindful sherlock, more wit and less physical strength. Well Ferrell sets a more comic yet witty Sherlock. Robert Downey Jr. is more like a mastermind sherlock with both physical strength and wits but lack the British touch in his accent. Taking things back to Enola Holmes, portraited by Millie Bobby Brown, is a delight to watch as she is young, goregous and talented. Her womenly appeal is depected more in this movie which was lacking in her appearance in Stranger Things. Taking about the plot, direction ,set build-up it was a very beautifully done. Overall I would like to conclude this video by saying. Its not something new you'll see but it will be worth your while. Thanks for watching this video. Maat Dekho
5 October 2020
I have score this 4 only for efforts of Eshaan Khaatar as a dancer and performer. The only good thing about this movie is its title "Khaali Peeli" which justifies it making which is like a casual home video of a road trip. It looks more like a video make by a overenthusiastic vlogger and compiled in into a 2 hr movie.

It is a wonderful comedy movie with acute punch lines and with a great story line well executed. The animation and the character voice dubbing brilliantly done. Love the way Disney is taking animation movies to another level and giving tough competition to some live-action films.

I love the way families get all worked up with their daily routine and require a holiday to soften their mood and harden their bonds. Its a movie that portraits that with decent comedy and up-work drama.I personally loved this movie but found some key elements that were missing and would not suit to most tastes so I scored it 6/10.For me its a 8.5/10.

Cool Grandparents
7 September 2020
I loved the concept of making grandpa a spy went undercover and retired. Usually it is the kid or either of parents or both but the concept of bring grandparents is a cool thing to do.I don;t understand the others but in my opinion and taste it was better than most of the low key spy movies other than 007 and other which are big budget blockbusters.

Decent yet Underappreciated film
6 September 2020
The setting was good and the story was actually good but couldn't gain the favour of mainstream audience as lacking in promotions and conduction the true nature of the setting and engrossing the audience till the end where the real fun begins.I would like to appriciated Varun Dhawan , Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt for their roles and how magnificently it was executed not to forget Madhuri Dixit for her small but significant impact to the story line.

Middle-Class Luck with WTf
10 August 2020
A hilarious way of portraying what a low middle class has to go through to make their dreams their reality and in turn turned into a hell of a battle for life. I wouldn't deny that Kunal Khemu has done a splendid work of art in his role play. I would vote for this movie to has a theatre release and would guarantee a massive hit for the brilliant performance in showcasing the bitter truths of life in such a hilarious way with unforgettable punches.

Motivating and Resilient
7 August 2020
Love the presentation of the struggle in the life of a overachiever in order to maintain his/her dignity and also have fun at the same time. The scope of enjoyment is limited and yet thrush with all the responsibilities of an adult. Not able to live ones story ones way is quite frustrating at times. That leads to resentment and resilience.

Decent
4 August 2020
Although I think it is decent I personally liked the first instalment of the movie series. I personally think it took its elements from "To All the Boys I have Ever Loved 2"and I personally think it was kind of predictable sequel I didn't get amazed with it so. It has also teased it third instalment and I sincerely hope they don't mess it up. Overall I enjoyed it needless to say because of Joey King and Joel Courtney. Hope to see more but not a remake of old love story.

One of the mixed wow and sorrow moments. The sudden demise of the actor makes this films climax more heart breaking. Brilliant acting done by Sanjana and Sushant both by create a joy in each others life by completing each other. I would say this is one of the best Hollywood remakes ever made. I have my condolence for Sushant's family and wish Sanjana luck in this Bollywood Warzone for fame.

Sanjay Mishra performs a wonderful role of an film sidekick who has more achievements than any actor still gets that much popularity and recognition as deserved by needless to say he proves that what true success means. His performance is even backup and enhanced by Deepak Dobriyal who continuously supports him in his purpose. Hence true success is defined in the heart of self rather than the comments of others.

Although Adam Sandler's films are quite hilarious many don't gets its true intentions as its a light comedy and romance with a wonderful message to share to keep yourself good and good will happen. Most of his movies of that time point how the outcast of the so called society were treated and how they were misused by people with cunning mind.It is a very interesting movie to watch with family and enjoy the weekends.
