Nobody (2021)
The wait was worth it.
As a fan of Better Caul Saul, I was in mixed feelings of how Bob O was going to play this one. As Saul, Bob had us on an emotional rollercoaster.
From the second I saw a trailer for Nobody I was counting down the seconds for its release.
Then I sat down with my wife to watch it. She's not a movie fan in any respect and only a small few will she watch more than once. Also she usually starts looking at her phone part way into films. This is a good indication of a good film because it has to be good to catch her full attention.
Well, the camera shots, action, music and acting definitely won - the phone wasn't touched!
This film is added to John Wick, GOTG and Abba the movie as her rewatchable films.
And it's a frikken A from me. I hope there is a sequel.
Cosmic Sin (2021)
Cosmic Cringe
What an epic disappointment this turned out to be. Dire acting, unconnected plot. As mentioned there is a large percentage of nothing happening in this movie. The aliens were nothing of note. Special effects were lacking. I thought Bruce Willis was going to save the movie but he gave up in the first bar scene. Mankind did not deserve to win in tjis one. Come on writers, stop using the angry young soldier stamping his feet routine as it made me want to stop watching more than the slow pace.
After Life (2019)
A rare program about what life is really like.
I just finished watching season two and as with the first season, this is an awesome production.
It's a roller coaster of emotion to watch having gone from laughing out loud to fighting back tears of sadness.
Last time I cried watching a program was when Benji got kicked at the cinema.
Mr Gervais' acting is second to none.
Keep them coming please - and for God's sake keep doing the Golden Globes as it kicks the year off to an awesome start!!!
Another Life (2019)
Not only a big dissapointment to watch, but it's a projection of our future
Another show invented to make social thikkos feel valued in society.
I watched the first episode despite the ratings mentioned below to give Katee a chance to save it - What a waste of time.
As mentioned in other comments, sending social tards into space to investigate an alien device is the sort of plot a flat earther or antivaxer would do.
The plot is ok, the special effects are ok. The characters and acting is so out and unbelievable that it's cringe worthy and laughable.
**Spoiler** A bunch of whining, ageist, rich kids with no respect for authority retreat into their bubble when told not to do something only to totally fail and have the adult save them.
I may be wrong though and the script writers may be trying to show the way our society is going by not addressing the snowflakes uprising - this was done in the film Idiocracy.
One plus is that in episode one there is not tglb or gender rubbish and only ageist remarks to anyone over 27..... but I expect that's to come in episode two....
What is more worrying is that some "adult" signed a budget to get this made!
I'm giving it two stars for Katee having the guts to be in the same set with these actors and the set designs.
It's time to stop pandering to the bad points in society and go back to producing great shows without trying to cater for the socially weak.
If I want to be exposed to characters like those in this show and listen to their whining, I'd go to a comic con or the job centre.
