The Beatles were great, in context of time and place and social movements and art movements and everything. Their influence on pop music is tremendous (would have been interesting to explore what the music world would look like without their influence, not only their songs, but the movie took a pass on that.) Although it is not a serious movie by any stretch, it is built on the premise that art is objectively great divorced from all that. I don't agree.
Also I wish I could watch just one mainstream movie in which the main characters don't hook up by the end. You can watch the first two minutes and easily predict who will be in bed within the next 90 minutes. There are so many interesting types of relationships that can be explored, but this movie (like most) went for the easy one that required no writing talent, effort by the audience or risk by the studio.
