Over the top

The movie has a good message, the relationship between the "stepfather" and his son is heartwarming, their dialogue and the way they open up to each other is great, but all of that get's torn apart and gets ridiculed by the unbelievable stuff that is happening around them.

The conflicts and scenarios created in this movie are highly unrelatable and unrealistic, they don't mirror the reality at all, which is bad if you want to create a believable and relatable story. Some of the stuff that is happening is exaggerated at best, but most of the stuff that is happening is just outlandish fantasy.

One example.

All the hideous acts of racism and all the violence that has happend in this movie and not ONE single time was the press or police involved?! I mean no one calls the police or get's jailed, EVER. Like the only scene that someone got into CUSTODY is after something gets blown up with a grenade and even then, the person simply gets released without an investigation.

I don't know why they couldn't keep things more grounded and based on reality, it would have made this movie sooo much better, but instead this movie just tries too hard to shock people with exaggerated fights and conflicts.

Stargate SG-1 (1997–2007)

My all time favorite

If you haven´t already watched Stargate SG-1 you will probably have a hard time to dig into this show, but if you give it a try you might just fall in love with it. I grew up with this show, so I am really affected by the nostalgia lens. None the less I still think that there is more to this show then many probably think, I often here people say that the show is just too goofy and they can´t take it seriously, thus they never really watched it or only remember it as a silly sci-fy show. And even though the show is in fact more on the light hearted side, it still provides extremely enjoyable stories and characters, some episodes really manage to effect you, not just comedically but also emotionally. The show really has some poignant moments. And some episodes are just hilarious and will bring a big smile to your face. It´s and great story with lovable characters and has this adventures vibes to it.

So if you don´t really know what to do or what show to watch next, especially in times like this, maybe you wanna give Stargate SG-1 a try.

Masterpiece

An intriguing story about a boy, the reincarnation of the Avatar, master of all for elements, who has to restore harmony and balance once again, after evil forces have brought chaos, fear and war into the world.

The story is just amazing and keeps evolving and growing beautifully, creating a world that you just wanna dive in to and stay there, it just keeps you hooked. The show is very heartwarming and often heartbreaking at times, but also manages to bring a lot of joy and laughter to anyone who watches it. The characters are amazing, adorable, funny and often relatable.

The Art style and animations are just amazing and the music fit´s just perfect into the whole picture and underlines the emotions so well.

Avater - The Last Aribender is a show that manages to reach kids and adults alike.

It´s just fantastic and a must watch!

The Legend of Korra (2012–2014)
4/10
Not that good.

Warning: Spoilers
The writing is bad.

I like most of the characters and the humor of the series, but thats about it. There is no grand scheme, no emphasis, no build up, the story leads to nowhere and lacks emotion, no intriguing development of the main character.

The story just kinda keeps repeating itself after the first season throughout the entirety of the series, new villain gets introduced and wants to either conquer or destroy/change the world. So sadly there is nothing to anticipate or really look forward to. The fighting is also just too anticlimactic and often takes far too long.

And Fan service? Even the reunion with old and beloved characters from ATLA didn´t really manage to satisfy. The encounters were often too short and they also did not really help that much with the development of the main character. The whole "loosing the connection to the previous avatar" thing was also boring and just seemed like they wanted to get rid of Aang after he didn´t really have a purpose anymore in this story.

I wish I could like this show but it´s just too mediocre and uninventive in story telling and sometimes even seemed inconsistent with the past story of ATLA.

The only positives that remain are the characters, the world building and the art style. The humor is also fun but can also ruin some moments, sometimes they just miss the opportunity to be emotional and serious, but i still count it as a positive.

The Witcher (2019– )
9/10
A Great Start!
23 December 2019
I want to keep it short.

Didn´t read the books, only played The Witcher 2&3 and I must say I really love how the show turned out!

The acting is great, the small roles and the big ones alike. The Story is is exciting and captivating, wasn´t bored for even a moment.

Only thing that was off-putting for me is the Nilfgaard Armor and the Dryads. The Armor just looks silly and the Dryads just looked like generic cliche fantasy people.

Besides this, everything was great in my eyes. Some may have been confused by the timeline differences, i wasn´t. But I guess it wouldn´t hurt to have more episodes to flesh out the story more properly.

Altogether I really enjoyed watching the series and can´t wait for season 2!
