Walker (2021)
Typical for Today's Shows
The script quality leaves a lot to be desired. Padalecki's character, Walker, really isn't the star of the show. He has been placed in the subordinate after-thought character that is nothing like Chuck Norris' version. Everyone has representation and they're all better than him. He rarely catches the bad guy, his partner does it each time. There's more drama talk than actual action. The action scenes lack good choreography as well. It's just really starting, so I have hopes that it will improve; perhaps they will read the reviews.
Professionals (2020)
Dry, Old Fashion Style, but May Have Potential
This reminds me of the 80's shows in regards to most of the script and camera work. While the action sequences are not as over-the-top as you see in most shows today, they are more believable to actually occur. Basically, no crazy, both feet off the ground, acrobatic false fights that seem to dominate action shows now. The script is lacking in chemistry. There's very little acting passion (no I'm not talking about sexual passion which they thankfully left out of the show), it's pretty dry. They do try to add some humor, but because of the poor script it usually falls flat. I think if Brendan and Welling really put their heads and experience together, work with the writers, then they can make season two (if they get a second season) much better.
