Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017)
Take my review with a grain of salt-
This is the first RE game I've ever played. I chose this because it was said to be "terrifying"..... I was sooooo BORED. Couple of jump scares sure, but there was nothing actually scary to me. I also just binged playing the "Outlast" games so maybe I'm spoiled/ ruined for anything else to be "scary".
I'm incredibly confused too how this has anything to do with the RE story. (Again this is my first RE game and I've only ever seen the movies). But I don't understand how this is a RE game. I'll have to play others to see if I'm missing something I guess.
Not a horrible game but nothing special.
Kenan & Kel: The Crush (1997)
Yikes! P3d0 jokes
I absolutely love this show. I was born in 1990 so the 90s have a special place in my heart. But oh my god this episode is absolutely foul and glorifies inappropriate behavior and relationships with teachers/ students. Hell children and adults in general. Far too many inappropriate jokes and behavior from the older women and the under age characters in this episode. I don't care that this is the 90s. This has always been unacceptable and disgusting. Why is this episode sexualizing children with older women? Eww. Why did anyone ever think this was acceptable to make and put in a tv show? Barf!!!
Cursed Friends (2022)
Bland. Let down of a comedy.
I guess luke warm temp is the best way to describe this. You'll smile or perhaps get a single "ha" from the movie once in awhile but truly not that funny of a movie. The whole thing just fell flat and felt tepid for me. Not a BAD movie, just not very funny or interesting. Think I spent more time scrolling TikTok than watching due to this not holding my attention really. Kind of typical and easy to predict. Cheesy moments that are to be expected. All in all, this is decent background noise but nothing that will captivate you or make your stomach hurt from laughing so hard. You won't be bummed you missed this or not.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)
The most absolute perfect show I have ever loved.
I was OBSESSED with this show as a child (so much I wrote a suicide note after staying up all night crying when it was ending lol, this was almost 20 years ago now.... Jesus.)
Anyways, this show beautifully captivated the amazing 90s. While telling the tale of adolescence mixed with the supernatural destiny Buffy must carry. Cheesy at times (like the good 90s are) with serious sacrifice and heartbreak (seriously nothing like the s2 finale). This show is utterly perfect in every way in my eyes.
Buffy will live forever.
Be free.
Live.
For Buffy.
Promising Young Woman (2020)
If you or someone you know hasn't been SA'd don't review this, you don't get a say.
I feel if you have never been assaulted or know someone who's been assaulted, you don't get a voice on this movie as you just don't understand it. This film was fantastic. Tough to watch as a survivor myself. But so worth it in the end. I just wish all abusers got their comeuppance like what happened in this film.
It's beautiful, raw and passionate. 10/10. Again if you've never been a victim or hurt by SA'd you're not going to appreciate this movie the way it deserves.
