Mortal Kombat (1995)
Clunky and Funky

While Paul WS Anderson is without doubt the worst director and writer of all time, this movie itself isn't all that bad. He probably begged someone else to direct this for him and payed him off discretely. Basically this movie is a mix of good style and music with some bad plots, >B grade acting and passable dialog. The fight scenes are mostly crap, choreographed but bad. They are nothing compared to what you would expect after playing the game or seeing real kung fu flicks and don't even pass for martial arts. The CGI used is crap and special effects are highly limited. Once again, thats not what you expect after playing the game. Since the worst ever director has made something passable, any one else could have made something way better overall, given the potential. However, the music is A+.

Decent but thats all

This movie is extremely predictable. Thats an irony because a significant part of the plot is about building some computer that can predict the future and heres the audience doing exactly the same in relevance to the plot. Overall, its nothing great but a warm fuzzy, feel good movie for the most part. The songs sucked. The jumping sequences range from utterly fake to decently implemented but the guy shaking his hands and legs during jumping and also executing so many moves while in mid-air, looked pretty dumb, irrespective if someone taking long jumps would actually do that and they don't. The heroine proves that she cant act for nuts but was at least better than the horrible one in Koi Mil gaya.
