JFK: What the Doctors Saw (2023)
Another round of misinformation
The evidence lines up as Baden presents it. Two shots from the rear. First thru the neck, into Connolly in the jump seat, second rear top of head removing the majority of the right lobe of his brain. The bone evidence supports this as the vertebra are beveled in from the rear on the neck shot.
There was no front shooter. No visual or odiferous evidence. Folks in the SBD under LHO heard and smelled the shots. It's an easy set of shots for a marine marksman with a high powered rifle and scope.
JFKs time in the ER was brief. He was not examined. Never undressed. The tracheotomy was performed at the exit wound site. No one examined the back of his head as the anesthesiologist had his head in his lap basically while trying to resuscitate. Jackie never left him and they didn't do a detailed look as she wouldn't leave.
The autopsy location wasn't determined by Jackie until about an hour before landing. Bobby and she did not want an autopsy. There was never a time the casket wasn't unguarded and never a time it could be switched or manipulated.
Unexplained and Unexplored (2019)
These two dudes are idiots. Laughably so.
I thought this was a comedy, a riff on exploring reality shows. It's not. These idiots act like they are the first to see everything. Even though most of this stuff are tourist locations with signs in the background. They have zero historical knowledge.
Dazed and Confused (1993)
A typical high school night
This was my class portrayed in the movie, the class of 77 at the end of their junior year. I was a Texan growing up in Memphis and about the only thing we didn't have was the formalized hazing. The rest was very accurate.
With an18 year old drinking age, alcohol was rampant down to freshmen. Weed was not as pervasive but was there. We all had hot muscle cars because they were cheap; today that parking lot would cross an auction for millions of dollars. The other accurate part was school wasn't as segregated into cliques as now; jocks, dopers, nerds, band folks, scholars, etc all socialized together and got along. Wild parties were happening on weekends.
A great movie, lots of laughs, great characters.
Away (2020)
Terrible writing. No knowledge of how space travel works.
So stupid. We had better technology in the 60's. Actually if we go to Mars the initial trips should be done by robots to build a base. A trip like this makes zero sense. They have no robots. No propelled space suits. And the soap opera aspects suck too.
Selling the Big Easy (2019)
Sucks
The realtor is an irritating annoying yak monkey. Obviously never learned the first rule of selling: listen more, talk less.
October Faction (2020)
Great premise. Terrible writing. Odd casting.
The premise of this is interesting. Basically a centuries old multigenerational monster fighting family. Fightingwarlicks and vampires instead of Russian spies or SMERSH..
Instead there's not much monster fighting. It's basically an allegory in wokeness, if humanity killing the world and it's creatures. Horrible teen centric writing and angst. Mom and dad are cold blooded monster killers! How could you!?!
Could have been really good.
Cadillac Records (2008)
Inaccurate beyond belief but...
The story of Leonard Chess and the development of the Chicago blues scene is totally inaccurate (can't even get cars close), it's an entertaining movie with great music just the stories are mostly fiction. If this movie leads some folks to dive into the blues and r&b and discover the real stories it's done it's job.
McMillions (2020)
Excellent documentary; highly entertaining
A well done documentary of an elaborate scam that could easily have gone undiscovered. I knew nothing of this crime and have resisted googling it, so unlike most documentaries where I already know the eventual outcome, this is more entertaining.
I enjoy the more in-depth backstories than you get in one hour crime docs. The stories how these various folks got involved in this scam are fascinating, as is the method the ringleader pulled it off.
Hunters (2020)
A disappointing pile of hot mess
I looked forward to this and am extremely disappointed in the writing and the acting. It's like The Boys mashed up with Hogan's Heroes, Grindhouse, and Vice. A terrible mess of historical inaccuracies, cardboard Nazis, time period confusion between the 70s and today, plot loopholes, and weird little inserts to either inject humor or outrage. The folks responsible can't seem to get the TDS out of the way when this is occurring under the Truman and Carter administrations. The improbable situations set up political diatribes that just get tiresome. The grandmother is set up as a death camp superhero who then lives a double life of meek Jewish grandma who partners with a billionaire to be a Nazi hunting vigilante at night without notice of her millennial acting overly dependent drug dealing grandson.
No wonder the series has been denounced by various holocaust agencies as harmful to memorializing this tragedy and serving the message of the deniers.
I thought this might be a solid program that would get into the many issues of Operation Paperclip and the development of the military industrial complex in the 40's and 50's, it's just a bad cartoon.
