Mariska and Meloni
11 May 2024
It's great with the Roku, I get to catch up on old series. Just Started watching SVU from the beginning. I have already seen a lot of these episodes on prime time and in reruns. Can you imagine any other actors other than Mariska or C Meloni playing the two leads? As a side note, check out C Meloni in Oz, another great series that was on HBO, and is now available streaming. Also, the cast of this show had Mayhem, who knew, Belzer, Ice T (so good) and a slew of others. Such great acting and writing in this series. I have to imagine all of these actors must have had great chemistry behind the camera, and must have all become friends. I can't imagine this show being as good as it was to last all of these years if these actors didn't all get along. Talk about typecasting. Highly recommended.

How Is This Show Still On TV!
12 March 2024
No longer funny or relevant. If SNL was introduced to us in its current format and comedy team it would likely be canceled. For the past 10 years, I have tried to watch this abomination, and turn it off. Especially all of the crappy political hack. Back in the day SNL made lighthearted fun of the government, whoever was in office at the time, and it was typically funny. Now it's just a hit piece. And I used to like Alec Baldwin, and thought of him as a great actor, but not so much any longer. And karma seems to be a real B as they say. So I don't know who your current audience is and if you're playing to the younger generation, I have the wonder wonder if they are even watching this show. Your demographic that you're playing too, would rather be on a cell phone watching TikTok. Only reason I gave a higher rating is because of the legacy. Please go away already!!!!!

Forgot About this One
11 March 2024
Watched this film for the 2nd time. 1st time was shortly after it was released in 2006, so a long time. Not sure if the actors read these reviews but I wanted to say I have been a fan of Matt Dillon since he was in My Bodyguard and Little Darlings, but my favorite film of his is Beautiful Girls. Kind of pains me now after all of these years that Matt hasn't received his due with an Oscar nod. He was stellar in Crash. Crash was a tour deforce of so many fine actors, Don Cheadle stood out, and Ludacras in an early role, who has found his way in the Fast series. This film is an emotional ride and it was a few stories all in one film with some of the best acting in a long while.

Dang, What Movie Did Ya ll Watch?
3 March 2024
Based on the reviews I was excited to see this on Prime and decided to give it a go. Looks like a bunch of people involved in the film rushed to IMDB and placed a positive rating and review. There is no way normal folks liked this film! Most of my adolescence was based on watching sophomoric T and A type comedies with sex and childish behaviors this is my favorite film genre. But maybe I am getting old. Where are the hot girls? There was not one chick in this film I would be remotely interested in seeing them nude. This film was not funny at all. Horrible script, poor acting. If it was a normal film about heterosexuals it still would be horrible!!!! This reminds of the time my buddies played a joke at a bachelor party and brought out a gay porn VHS! Where's a Stiffler, Oz, maybe an Ogre, a Booger, these were great identifiable characters that were beloved. I didn't want to like any of these characters.

Dang, Gets Better with Time
9 December 2023
Can't believe I haven't given a review. One of my faves! I remember when reservoir dogs came out. No one had heard of this film , but it was getting a lot of buzz during the movie rental craze. And I remember back then they had DVD clubs that you could join similar to the old album of the month club back in the 70s, RD was a big seller. Anywho, just caught this again after not seeing the film for years. Can you imagine anyone else cast in this film besides the actors that were cast? The tough guy, Larry Tierney, was an old time actor and couldn't get hired in the 70s and 80s due to his drunken behavior, and apparently was an ass on the set. But I can't imagine anyone else in that role. And a lot of these guys were no names at the time. Chris Penn had done a few films that were more in the party dude type films, and we had never really heard of Harvey Keitel (he was in Blue Collar, which was excellent). As we see now, Quinten has a knack for casting various actors in roles and after seeing the films, you can't imagine any other actor playing the part. Probably the best. So glad we have Quinten and his films, they are some of my favorites!!! I hope he comes out with a few more, my fave is the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood film. That one will be tough to top.

Sly (2023)

Excellent!!!
22 November 2023
On a whim I watched it on Netflix, I figured why not. But I am glad I watched. Very well done. Glad to see the warmer side of Sylvester. Never knew his dad was the way he was, gees I was thinking what a film that would be about how Sylvester's father grew up and became who he was!!!!

Also, I never realized Sylvester's son Sage had passed away back in 2012. Sage played Sylvester's son in Rocky 5, and I remember he did a pretty good job as playing his son. Was it Slys best film? No, but it was a pretty good film.

I remember when Rocky came out, I was a young kid in my early days of High School, and I think we rode our bikes a few miles to the Cinema to watch it because we were too young to drive. I remember thinking it was the best film I had ever seen in my young lifetime, and I would say is still one of my favorite films.

Looking back, it dawned on me that I have seen pretty much all of Slys movies at the theater. I remember seeing First Blood at the theater. That film came out and was not well advertised, so not many had seen it. I remember thinking First Blood was like another Rocky. And every person I interacted with at that time that saw First Blood loved it, there was nothing like it at that time!

Just makes me wonder what we would have missed out on had Sly never made Rocky and ended up selling the script and Burt Reynolds's playing in another bomb. Would not have been the same.

Anywho, I am glad Sylvester showed us behind the curtain as they say. Well worth the watch.

Better Than Advertised
20 November 2023
A film with Nolte and Redford, how can you go wrong. Nolte has always been one of my favorite actors since he played Tommy Jordache in Rich Man Poor Man, for some reason as a 16 year old kid I always related to the Tommy character. For my adulthood Nick has always played various characters in films, and for me he was so typecast as the Tommy Jordache character, I was wanting more. I have seen pretty much all of his films. Redford on the other hand I have seen pretty much all of his films as well.

Redford plays the snobby uppity suburbanite middle aged man to a tee, likely playing himself. This was a case where Bryson didnt want to do the hike alone so he reaches out to his friend network, and low and behold he gets one of those lower tiered friends, Katz, to join him on the hike, but you can tell Bryson had his doubts.

During the hike the calamity ensues with Katz playing the Costello to Brysons Abbott, or the straight man. Is it the film of the year? No, but it has some great scenes and Nolte definitely holds his own with Redford. Definitely worth the viewing.

Not bad for the 70s
20 November 2023
So how many of you bought a Roku which plays all of these old 70s and 80s shows. This series came out when the general public was lucky to have a second television and cable didn't exist. Erik Estrada is what made this show, I guess he was in a bad spot, get typecast and sellout, or do other projects back then. For a 70s early 80s show it wasn't too bad. Yes, you notice the ramps slightly hidden behind a car during car crash scenes, so be it. Cheesy comedy. Several scenes are overacted so be it. Larry Wilcox is great as well, making the two of them a great duo. I think this series started out with some great writing and then as the series went on, tended to write scripts for a 10 year old pre-teen audience. Still entertaining after all these years.

A Real Stinkfest
19 November 2023
I see the fake reviewers were out in droves on IMDB already. I always get excited when a new superhero film comes out, and always try and see it at the theater, nothing better than seeing these superhero movies at the theater for the true ambience, sound, popcorn, etc.

However, what movie did y'all watch? This was a stinker!!! And I am glad the Kravitz kid did this, so we will never have to see her in anything ever again! Overacting, and just terrible. I wanted to like her, but ughhhhhh. All of her scenes were amateurish at best. The talent behind this film, and you cast this kid? You have ruined the franchise.

And Gothum Square Garden? Ughhhhhh. Really? So who came up with that name? I can see it now, bunch of money counters in a room throwing out names for scenes in the film, "Let's call it Gothum Square Garden, since it appears similar"

Can't wait for the sequel! Please stop it already.

Was it Me? Or was it Slow
15 November 2023
I know it came out some time ago, and I remember when it came out I thought it would be something I would like to see. My buddy had a DVD of it so we thought we would check it out. Had a lot of top notch actors in it including Harrison Ford. Ford hasn't been in many stinkers! Anywho, I thought Cowboys was very slow. I think they spent way to much time on character building of the Wild West, half the movie!!! They lost my attention! They could have easily reduced it to a half hour. The aliens were done very well however, but seemed like a ripoff of a popular game, Gears Of War. Worthy effort, but just OK.

Great Series. Jumped the Shark in Season 4
4 September 2023
Is it me? Or did season 5 just kind of Peter out the entire series. Then they brought out girl fights, and other things to try and reel us back. I love Costner, always have even goin back to Fandango (his best movie BTW). But it started to show he was just phoning it in in season 4 and 5. We don't know all of the behind the scenes details with the creators and Costner as to what the issues are and we never will. Seems today money is ruining the entertainment industry (besides this woke BS ruining the creativeness in entertainment). This has been one of my top rated series. Bla blah blah.blah bl.

Eh, Stop Ruining Our Old Shows!!!!
21 July 2023
First off, any time this it person was on screen it creeped me the F out! Or is it just me? My mind cringed thinking if this is a dude in make up? Or a chick with make up? And here is a novel idea, why don't you get an actor to play that part? Not a real person, it's called acting for a reason. Someone playing themselves is not acting! Kind of like Vince Vaughn all over again.

You had a great series to work from. It's 30 plus years later one would think with the premise of the old show you would automatically have a hit. I watched the pilot and haven't been back.

Holly weird, this is your F around and find out moment. And I think you have found you have a dud.

Now take the Brady Bunch, Gilligans Island, Partridge Family remakes off the table!

I Wanted To Like It
17 May 2023
Sorry Hulu, wish you would stop trying to one up Netflix as to having the most terrible movie choices. Both services have really gone downhill.

Such a great cast put together for this film. Several new faces I've never seen before, however, some pretty big comedy heavyweights in this one. Always like Kevin Dillon, but dang, a doctor? Yikes! It appeared to me that several of the actors may have lost a bet to Josh and had to play a character in this film as their payoff! I really wanted to like this one, and it had a great storyline, but all of the jokes were predictable and were rather boring.

Why Haven't We Seen More From Ms Chapman?
10 April 2023
I have been doing a Wonder Years marathon over this past weekend. One episode after another, in order, from the beginning. Of course all of the episodes are great, however, a few stand out. Kevin's job at the hardware store, lessons learned in math class, etc. However, the episode with the teacher, Ms Shaw, is one of the best yet. Watching these episodes of TWY over 30 years after they originally aired is amazing. One would have think in 2023 they would be dated and for some reason they are not so dated to me. Anywho, this episode with the English teacher Ms Shaw was one of the better episodes in the series. One reason I am writing a review is I wonder what ever happened to Ms Chapman, the actress that played Ms Shaw. For the few minutes she was in the episode her character carried the entire episode. She reminded me of a Younger Alfie Woodard. Also, why can't they write shows like this anymore. The writing for this show is better than most shows. Check them out, you won't regret it.

I So Wanted To Like This!
3 October 2021
Right after I got out of the theater I checked out Internet movie database for the reviews on this movie. Because I share the same sentiment. After the rioting and looting scenes, which really have nothing to do with a sapranos episode, I almost walked out of the theater. I do have to say the acting was stellar. I didn't even know that was James Gandolfini son during the movie I hadn't really heard so much about this movie prior I went to see it on a whim. AnyWho, if you're looking for a lot of backstory character development, this is not for you.

Anabeth Gish
20 July 2021
Yes it's a great movie, I have seen it a bunch of times and I also saw it at the theater when it came out. All of the actors are great, but to me Anabeth stood out among all of the actors, and there were some heavyweights in this one! For some reason I relate to the character of CAT. And in the end CAT gets her college money. If you haven't seen mystic put it on your must see list! May not be for everyone, a similar must see film is Beautiful Girls, and Anabeth just so happens to be in it.

The Ray Pruitt character
18 July 2021
Just watched an episode where the Ray Pruit character sings on stage. Ughhhhhh!!!! Seriously? How did this guy get this far? People were actually into this back in the 90s? This was a thing? Horrible!!!!!! I would have rather seen Steve Sanders lip syncing to a few songs. At least Sanders had in screen chemistry. And what's going on with Sanders? The bad luck he had was always good for a laugh. I can tell the show really jumped a shark, as they say, around season 6.

442 Oldsmobile
11 July 2021
What's funny about this movie is I graduated HS around this time so I can relate to it. I too had an early model 70s Cutlass and also drove up to a northern Michigan college, with milk crates full of my possessions, and had a few Strohs beer bottle boxes filled with my clothes. But I highly doubt Jake had a 1970 mint 442 when he went to college. They were worth quite a bit in 1980, one of the true first classic cars even in 1980.

It okay
24 June 2021
Watched the first season a few years ago after a few friends told me how great the show is, especially for fantasy football fans. I bought the second season at a DVD resale shop thought I would give it a try. I love all of the gross out type sophomoric movies, but there are some funny parts in this series, But eh! I will probably finish the second season, and that's that. I can't believe this series has 80 some episodes, they had to run out of story lines. So boring!!!!

Snowman, the horse that was almost human
19 June 2021
I was always a fan of the Palomino because of the show Mr. Ed, I was scrolling through the Roku the other day and this documentary popped up for whatever reason I do not know. But I think I got drawn in from the white horse so glad that Harry decided to make a few films of snowman for the documentary. Not sure if I've ever seen an animal, or a horse for that matter, that was part of a family and the horse knew it. I am curious why they never made a film about this they could make it lighthearted have a little fiction story line with it but they may have a little bit of trouble finding a horse with a personality like snowman. You can really tell that Harry had such a love for snowman like he was his own child. This one brought tears of joy for me highly recommend it.

better than the reviews
15 June 2021
Ok so it's an early 80s campy film. One of Willem Defoes early films, he was basically a nobody when he did this one. Several other familiar faces as well. But the big surprise came from the junkyard owner, Sam. He played the commissioner in Beverly Hills Cop. Anywho, this film was better than all of these reviews. This was my era so I don't know why I never watched it on cable or on VHS. If you are a car person, hot rods etc, then you might like this one. Give it a try if you ha e it available, I watched it free in my Roku.

Way better than people think
12 June 2021
This is that movie that no one has ever seen. I just watched this again for probably the 20th time recently and it still is not dated. Sure it was made in the 80s and has the 80s look and feel with the clothing and what have you, however the storyline still rings true generation after generation after generation. The nerdy yearbook kid, the jock, the band geeks, the burnout. And the crazy teachers with the rather large egos, who don't have a clue! Followed by the idiot security cop who is still living his high school dreams long after he graduated. I always hoped there would have been a sequel, but such is not to be. Great acting!!! One of my faves!!!

One of the better 80s action movies
12 June 2021
This is a classic 80s film. Who would have thought Bodicker would become Red Foremen!!!! Who can forget the commercials? "I'll buy that for a dollar!". The gas guzzling car? "Bitches leave!" Excellent writing for sophomoric adult men!!! I saw this film at the theater, I remember leaving in awe! Couldn't wait for the sequel! If you haven't t seen the original, I just wonder what Rock you have been under.

1 June 2021
I remember when this came out at the theater and I couldn't wait to see it because I liked all the others, III was kind of a stinker but it was still watchable. I remember being in the theater watching this about a third of the way through it was so bad. I waited till the end but this had to be one of the worst movies that I've seen at the theater.
