The Equalizer 3 (2023)
Disappointing
Being an avid Equalizer trilogy fan, I was full of enjoyment at the thought of watching the latest in the McCall experience, however this was short lived.
Sadly for Denzel and cast, the storyline was utterly appalling, super simple, predicatble and full of holes.
Denzel plays his part well but extremely restricted by the story line and what I feel was a low budget.
It is not a patch on the previous two movies. The previous two were a different league.
I am utterly gobsmacked at the higher scoring reviews but each to their own.
All in all, it was a poor movie that I cannot recommend nor would I watch again.
Silent Witness (1996)
Needs to be retired....or bring back the good old days
It is getting more unrealistic with each episode that passes.
The majority of the Lyall team are now nearly fluent in British sign language. Incredibly unlikely especially the new addition to the team.
The Lyall team having holes bigger than Swiss cheese in relation to realism in their story lines.
Series 26 last 2 episodes - it was never considered that there could be 2 actual suspects until the end and the child's views were dismissed.
The whole story line was just imaginary.
Police officers taking prisoners to the police station in their own car with head injuries instead of phoning the Calvary and doing things properly...I mean it's utter nonsense.
The script writing and associate acting is really terrible and the good old days of Sam, Leo, Harry and Thomas with their associated writers need to come back because it is shameful what is happening to this show...shameful!
I think it's had its day!
Silent Witness: The Penitent - Part 1 (2023)
Disappointed
Having been an avid fan of Silent Witness of many years, from Series 25, I feel it has went downhill and have been left disappointed.
Its script writing and ability to deliver the story in a well acted and realistic way has always been very good.....until now.
I feel that now the main issue is the script writing followed by poorer acting and quite unrealistic scenes and generally poor story telling.
This was confirmed by watching Series 26. It fails to transition between series 25 and and 26 in terms of staffing/new members of the team and the relationship between Nikki and Jack.
Also the series 26 episode 1 & 2 story is relatively good on paper but very poorly delivered and acted out.
Many key omissions from realism and blatant holes in the story.
I question whether I would continue to watch it.
Black Site (2022)
Blinkin Shocking
Utterly appalling movie!
The worst movie that I have watched in my life.
Writer must be trying to breakout into movies but based on this attempt, the career is over before it starts.
Poorly written and poorly executed.
Location budget of 300 dollars.
Shameful.
The Courier (2019)
Shocking
What a terrible storyline! It has more holes in it than Swiss cheese.
The acting is beyond appalling. Particularly Agent Bryant. Utterly shameful.
It was the longest hour imaginable and the back still didn't even turn up.
90 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
Unstoppable (2010)
Action Packed
I really enjoyed this movie.
Good storyline, albeit flying close to unrealistic but full of action with good acting from Denzel and his sidekick.
It kept me engaged throughout the whole movie which is what a good movie should do.
Recommended.
Out of Death (2021)
Appalling!
The worst movie available to watch.
Poor story line with utterly dreadful acting!
It doesn't deserve a 1.
Times must be tough for Bruce, he should have hung up his gun well before this movie.
Don't waste your time.
Married at First Sight Australia (2015)
Realism or Ratings..
The very premise of the show is a relationship lottery from which the majority beneficiaries of are the expert panel, the media company and on a rare occasion the individuals.
It portrays the image of science equalling love but yet we have seen some awful matches and very little love.
On the up side there are the fortunate ones but ... Is the science consistently correct.... No is offcourse the answer because science cannot account for physical attraction and connection.
I question the integrity of the panel as there portrayal does not always relate to them being professional relationship experts based on their comments/responses.
I watched season 6 and for them to decide to make a complete mockery of the show and ignore their own science, being the very premise of the show in which they allowed inviduals from differing couples to get together is a mere statement of actually how important their show is as opposed to the science and/or couples.
In my opinion the fact is that the majority of couples fail and they are simply playing with people's lives and feelings, all for fame, money and publicity ratings and viewer numbers.
Yes it is their choice to participate but I feel the show let's them down immensely.
The format needs a complete overhaul, if indeed not completely terminated.
Debt Collectors (2020)
Diabolical
Debt Collector 2
Bones of a plausible story.
Atrocious acting ++++
Wholly unrealistic even for a movie!
Poseidon (2006)
Welcome to Hollywood
Oh dear oh dear oh dear.
The premise of the story is kind of there but the execution and delivery is poor.
Quite obviously it got cut down to focus on the random 8 with a short visited obnoxious gambler getting killed pretty quickly.
The storyline of the survivors was not executed greatly and it was very obvious to me the Kurt Douglas was gonna get killed in an attempt at bravery but unbelievably Elena who was just hitching a ride to see her I'll brother, got killed.
Additionally Connors mums dress must have been glued on.
A bit like the sinking ship this movie was full of holes and felt like it was just different bits stuck together.
Watchable as had enough action to keep you amused but take it with a pinch of salt and go with the flow so to speak.
It also ended dreadfully.
La belva (2020)
Abismal!
Dreadful movie with poor storyline and even worse acting.
Clearly a very low budget movie.
The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)
Enjoyable
It is a well made movie with a consistent story line, plenty of action and reasonably good acting.
However it had 3 key flaws for me:
The asset is sent to kill Bourne and the Journalist but only kills the journalist and actually ends up running away from Bourne.
The storyline should have been... Just kill the journalist as the assets jobs is to finish the job, either way.
The CIA Station Chief in Madrid would know better than to use his passport and the same phone.
Bourne is internationally wanted but can travel the world under different names but same face and not get flagged up anywhere.
Its Hollywood but I did enjoy it if you take it for what it is.
An Affair to Die For (2019)
Nonsense
So the premise is about a woman who wishes to teach the woman and her husband whom are having an affair, a lesson, by enlisting the woman's husband's help whom is a surveillance expert to get pay back by setting them up but in the end.. gets killed leaving her 2 year old alone.
What did the husband of the lady who was having an affair do to deserve being killed.
Poor storyline and poor acting overall. It had promise and certainly kept you thinking in parts but absolutely no realism, in terms of story development l, character development, rationale or reasoning whatsoever.
John Henry (2020)
Utter Garbage
Poor Acting
Poor storyline
Poorly made.
Dreadful movie.
Unthinkable (2010)
Brilliant!
Brilliant, edge of seat psychological thriller.
Acting is really good, story line plausible and asks the question... How far is far enough to save a city, country, way of life and at what cost.
It provides the titles unthinkable twist near the end that is very thought provoking.
I really enjoyed this well made and thought out movie.
The Foreigner (2017)
Surpringlsy Enjoyable
This movie had a good story line with substance alongside wanna see expected action.
A little wooly in areas but it had enough to make it believable and appear realistic.
Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
Intriguing... Until the End!
Overall I kind of enjoyed this movie as the story did have enough to keep you intrigued and rooting for the law abiding citizen.
However the last third of the movie was very poor. By happenstance Chester sends costs of warehouses that lead Foxx and sidekick to garage and tunell and then to add insult to injury....
..... LAC leaves bomb briefcase for all in sundrie to see at City Hall and then Foxx must have teleported to LAC prison cell with bomb in tact for LAC to be blown up alongside anyone else that happened to be in solitary and what about the floor above solitary.
Punchline... Lawyer no better than LAC but for completely different reasons.
Siberia (2018)
Confusingly Empty
There was no substance to this storyline at all.
Acting not the worst but nowhere near the best.
I'm still trying to work out what the actual aim of this movie was.
Soldiers of Fortune (2012)
Utter Garbage
Title says it all!
Appaling acting. Just dreadful.
Mile 22 (2018)
Watchable Action
Ultimately it's the story of a supposed elite team of professionals with the assistance of overwatch (a suposed elite team of intelligence analysts) getting a man from A to B with an army after them.
It also came with a little twist at the end although at the beginning of the movie, you will note the Russians stating if he is alive in 24 hours then they have failed so we knew he was going to die...or did he?!
The action is constant but not consistent. The elite factor of each element not so elite.
The necessary addit of the female agent with family issues to give a bit of stuffing to the story but yet she gets killed so the ex gets his wish.
It was really a basic shoot me up, run and keep our fingers crossed with a team 7 that was reduced to 3 within the first mile.
Like I say, watchable.
Faster (2010)
Watchable... Just..
The Rock makes this watchable but really.. Come... On....
The guys face is all over TV yet he continues to drive around killing folks until a preacher rocks his conscious and his life is saved, all, whilst the strange wanna be assassin seems to follow him about before just walking away from it all... without his dollar.
Full of holes except the second bullet hole in his head, all thanks to the metal plate.
Super duper poor story line with some of the acting to boot but hey ho it's budget Hollywood.
Rogue Warfare (2019)
Utter Nonsense
I have rarely seen such diabolical acting nor a complete lack of realism in a movie.
I'll name a few:
No allocated team leader
Helmets that don't fit.
Rarely anyone covering their rear position on the ground.
Sniper with no scout
Dog tags on a secret mission
Homemade military bombs
I could go on but you get the idea.
Its so bad that it's funny.
The Sinner (2017)
Intriguing but unrealistic
Series 1
The general premise of the story was good and at times, gripping, with differing twists to keep the viewers guessing.
From a logical investigative and scientific perspective, it lacked consistency and was full of holes, as well as being somewhat unrealistic on many fronts.
For it all to be wrapped up in the last 20 minutes is somewhat typical of such series.
It did interest me and I will watch the 2nd series and hope for improvement.
Series 2
Even more unrealistic than the first series.
More holes than a sieve.
These series appear to focus more on the psychological aspect of things and forget about linking it realistically to the story and the outcome.
Aftermath (2017)
Absolutely Atrocious
Wholly unrealistic, disjointed and has more holes in it than a sieve.
Utter nonsense!
Luther (2010)
Ridiculous
I am sorry but I thought I had seen a lot of holes in Series 1 & 2 but Series 3 is soo far fetched and completely 100% unrealistic, it's unbelievable in this day and age of crime series.
The acting is good on the whole which is what keeps me intrigued, just about.
Luther arrested for the death of Justin by a vigilante whom cannot get through the gate that he then does and when his Superior arrvies at the scene, so does he.
Let's not mention that witnesses heard Luther tell Justin to go after Vigilante and also no gun, no gunshot residue on Luther.
Then the internal affairs rogues pitch together a ridiculous story whereby Luther had orchestrated it all.
As if Police officers, whether internal affairs or not, would behave in such a manner.
Then the invisible being of Alice returns to save the day and not get arrested.
I mean, come on, even for a TV series, it's flying in the fictitious wind.
