Jack Goes Home (2016)
It's okay
I'm not sure what the story was going for. Was it a psychological thriller? A horror movie? very strange. i like Rory Culkin, and he and Lin Shaye - who i adore - did the best they could with what they had. My recommendation is to see it for yourself, but if you don't, it would be no great loss.
Vivarium (2019)
I'm not exactly sure
I'm not exactly sure how i feel about this movie. the trailer was interesting, and the movie held my attention. but i can't say i liked it, and i can't say i hated it. it just...was. sorry if that sounds weird, or unhelpful. but if there was every a middle of the road movie, this is it.
i will say that it would have been better as an episode of The Twilight Zone than a full length movie. so there's that.
Teen Titans Go! To the Movies (2018)
Set aside your petty grievances and see this movie
This movie is very good and stays true to the shenanigans that is Teen Titans Go!, a show aimed at children. It is just as lighthearted and airy as the tv show. I laughed throughout and enjoyed it immensely. Please do not let the reviews of people who prefer the dark, brooding, teen angst titans to cloud your decision to see it. Like the TTG show, the movie stands alone.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Unforgettable
This movie will go down in history as one of the best, and it should. It was funny, emotional, filled with action and comedic moments to break up the fear and self-doubt of these heroes who want to save the world but aren't sure if they can. I cried, I laughed, I cried again. It was exciting and you will be invested in it from the opening credits to the end. If you haven't seen it, you gotta see it.
My Spy (2020)
Nice Distraction
I wanted to see this movie from the time I saw the teaser trailer. It delivered exactly what I expected. The kid was cute as a button and Dave Bautista did not take himself to seriously. I smiled, laughed out loud (you'll know why when you see it) and thought the movie was just precious.
Elephant (2020)
if you love nature, you'll love this
Elephant is a fantastic documentary. It is designed to evoke emotion and it succeeds. You will become connected to the family and invested in the survival of these majestic creatures. The visuals are impressive and the narration is on point. As always, Disney put a lot of love into their work and it shows.
You will see a lot of perfect scores and you will also see a lot of low scores. You will be able to tell who is pro Duchess of Sussex, and who are anti Duchess. i have noticed that the anti Duchess. While I highly recommend the movie to watch with your children, or even if you love nature documentaries, Do not let the negative, obnoxious reviews or cloyingly glowing reviews stop you from seeing it. It is a fun and moving film that I think you will enjoy.
