Lupt (2018)
Good watch for me during Covid-19.
This movie was not bad ! Basically this family, are on vacation and due to traffic jam they take a short cut and on the deserted road and their car breaks down. They meet up with the stranger on the road and take shelter at his guest house. That's when the killings start one by one and the movie gets into the darker zone as the clock ticks. The story is not the best. It could have been much better. Still its a decent thriller. Few emotional scenes are very well handled. The cast is impeccable, direction is good, the soundtrack is not bad and the cinematography is decent. But this movie is little slow paced and it works as a thriller, a mystery and a drama. If I could say negative things about this movie is that the character of Rahul was not at all good. VFX was poor and the ending could have been better. Although at the same time it kind of intrigues me and does explain the entire situation that they had been in.
Chhapaak (2020)
Chhapaak is a must watch! Great acting and direction.
Very difficult subject handled with much sensitivity & balance. Excellent direction which avoids making the movie emotionally overwrought, as generally movies of this genre end up. Deepika Paukone gives superb performance depicting the pain and also grit & hope of the main character - Malti. Outstanding make-up detailing the damage related to acid-burns with nuanced & realistic progressive changes as the wounds heal & the results of surgery, on the most difficult part to be so portrayed - the face, & especially eyes.
Street Dancer 3D (2020)
Complete Disappointment.
Iam a dancer myself, I'm disappointed with the representation of a "street dancer" Terrible, do not watch. Skip it and watch dance videos on TikTok or YouTube. Iam really very sorry for such bad review of mine. But why is Remo D'Souza not working on story. Same Dancers and Dance forms. Most common thing in all these dance movies Boring. Totally Disappointed
Thappad (2020)
Excellent movie - good performances.
The best story line for women's rights after and before marriage. And acting by Ms. Taapsee Pannu is outstanding. The movie resonates!! How the topic of domestic violence and emotional abuse is covered in both working women and house wives is just brilliant. The unapologetic behavior of the men and victim blaming by society is well captured. I think all young women should watch it.
Angrezi Medium (2020)
Great movie. Will miss Irrfan
Such a beautiful film, it's funny, emotional, heart touching. Good casting. I really like the concept of the story and it is something everyone can relate to. Irfan Khan's acting is definitely awesome. A must watch!
Baaghi 3 (2020)
Where is Bollywood going. It was just ridiculous.
The concept and the storyline is very bad. senseless action sequence , why do you need 5 tanks to kill a guy running without any weapons. Poorly made movie . Really unrealistic Senseless script with copied action sequences Really poor dialogues of lead actors. Indian film industry has been a big time copycat of Hollywood, but still there's no match.
Guilty (2020)
Film failed by its half-baked writing.
I expected much more out of this movie. Predictable and too long. Emotions are weak and the pace of the movie was very slow. Also no interesting characters. The film is not good in any aspects. The handling of the plot makes it obvious that it is being helmed by an amateur. Avoid
Gulabo Sitabo (2020)
Don't Expect much from this film.
Do not watch if you have high expectations from this film. It will for sure disappoint you. The script is average and so was the direction. There is no entertainment in this film. The pace was slow and it did started to bore at a point where the scene became a bit dramatic and chaotic. The second half, was bearable. Acting is great from Big B. And i think Ayushman is losing his charm. Same acting continues. Background score is good. Problem is with the the pace, very slow with no hook. Now with critics this is the issue, big names they always write good. What if this film would have been released n theatre. It would have never worked. Gave a very genuine review.
First Man (2018)
Ryan Gosling delivers a good interpretation of the character.
Curiously intimate study of a deeply stoic character. A father grieves the loss of his infant daughter, culminating in 10 minutes of radio silence on the lunar surface. Ryan Gosling delivers a good interpretation of the character.
The Last Full Measure (2019)
Boring
The Last Full Measure is a boring overlong film that squanders its cast. Sebastian Stan makes a likable lead. Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Plummer, and Ed Harris also make strong appearances. The film's story is an important one. Sadly, it is told in the most cliche way possible. The film is way too melodramatic. It undermines the events we are witnessing. The film also suffers from pacing issues. It was way too long and I wasn't as invested as the film thought I was. Overall, the film didn't do justice to its story or its cast. A shame since the film had potential.
Gisaengchung (2019)
Remarkable
Parasite was directed and written by Bong Joon Ho and tells the story of the Kim family and their life-changing involvement with the Park family.
Well written and performed also technically shines cinematography & bgm are too good and there's not even a single lag it's perfectly edited. Probably the best experience in recent times. Its pure art resembles the modern society the emotions they had shelved are insanely exceptional a layered masterpiece.
