Yes this film is one of the greatest pieces of suspenesfull movie-making being shown in cinemas for a long time now. I love the set up of a hospital pathologist getting messages form the dead that indicate to the police that he might well be the local serial killer.

And worse still, by the end of the film the pathologist ( Jeff Fahey) starts to believe these rumours and begins to believe that he could himself be the killer...Supporting actors of Marty Kove and Bruce bring strong supernatural element to the film, while Jon Morrey and Kim Thomson fight it out in some of the last scenes. Also some really Great strong Directing and suitably spooky and emotional score from Paul Turner,

A great psychological thriller with some really deep emotional drama

The denournment was most unpredictable....I enjoyed this one very and would strongly recommend it

"Boy, can this girl write!"
7 July 2006
A stark drama that is a strong yet accurate portrayal of the damage done in violent relationships. 'Silent Voices' tells it like it is and does not pull any punches - will tug at the heartstrings of those affected by Domestic Violence and sit back and do nothing. The actors pull us right into the script and make the words real. Director Charles Harris has treated a difficult subject with sensitivity and a light touch. These two should go far as a team. The whole thing was written and shot in under 20 weeks - a tough call on all the players, but they have pulled it off. Producer Paul Atherton yanked the lot together on a pretty low budget. He shows just what can be done if you really want something. A brilliant first drama.

Gauguin must be quaking in his grave at this effort
17 April 2004
An absolutely dreadful rendition of Gauguin's life on Tahiti. There is no sense of his passion in a wonderful adventure in the South Seas and the real difficulties he faced.Having studied this painters life in some detail I find this biopiic unbelievably innacurate. We even have his wife Mette loving his paintings from Tahiti, which in reality she despised. There is even a scene of her at his exhibition in Paris, an event she refused to attend. She never appreciated any of his work. If a filmmaker or writer embarks on a biopic picture they need to keep the basic facts correct. The Directing and editing is very slow and not very entertaining. It is difficult to blame the actors with such a pedestrian script but I found the casting quite misguided. Gauguin must be quaking in his grave at this effort at portraying his brave and noble life in pursuit of his art.

A Really Great Thriller
17 July 2002
Having recently rented this movie I have to recommend it to all the readers on IMDb. It really is a really great thriller. A Great story with some strong acting and some really wonderful and engaging imagery. Using selected news footage the film makers have manipulated them to produce images of real artistic quality.

This film takes you quite literally in to the dark and ominous world of The Henleys, a pair of scandal hungry video artists. Their reality of how they produce some of these images is investigated and uncovered by the freelance video journalist Alex as he ventures in their distasteful world. This film may shock some people but I could thoroughly recommend it to those brave enough.
