A-MAZING!!! WATCH IT NOW!!!

This has been the first show about Jesus that has drawn me in and made me proud to share with Christians and non-Christians alike. It is biblically based, but the script writers have used creative license to "fill in the blanks" of conversations and events. While we can't say that all of these conversations/events truly happened at that time, they fit seamlessly into the story in a way that I never would have thought, without changing the main facts present in The Bible. It provides an interesting "back story" for some of the most well known characters in Scripture. It makes for a very entertaining experience that I would watch over and over.

The script writing and the acting are phenomenal. The characters have personality that I haven't felt from any other production about the Bible before. The love, pain, and anguish in the first 8 episodes are palpable. The humor mixed throughout makes Jesus more relatable. Johnathon Roumie was the perfect choice to play Jesus. His eyes are kind and really convey the emotion in the scenes. All of the actors are perfectly cast.

The actors that play Mary Magdalene, Nicodemus, Simon Peter, & Jesus evoke so much emotion from the viewer that I often found myself in tears from their performances. I truly felt the pain of Mary Magdalene, the hopelessness of Simon Peter, the fear/anguish of Nicodemus, the love and compassion of Jesus, and the desperation of several other characters in season 1. All of the characters are really wonderful. The props and costumes are beautifully done. Overall an amazing series. I really don't have anything negative to say about season 1. I can't wait for season 2 to be filmed to see how it compares. This has made me fall in love with Jesus all over again, and challenged me to get back into my Bible.

SERIOUSLY WATCH IT NOW!

Warning: Spoilers
I have watched nearly every episode of "When Calls the Heart" since it first aired, and I can't get enough of it. The seasons are too short and too far between each new season.

I have loved the character of Elizabeth Bennett & how she has grown through adversity throughout each new season. That being said, season 7 was my least favorite season so far as Elizabeth seemed to be confused with what she wants from her life. This felt out of character for the normally head-strong woman she has been in seasons 1-6. I know that she was still mourning, but she seemed to not really know herself anymore. It became a bit disappointing to me as I felt I knew what decisions she would have previously made when certain situations arose.

I hope Season 8 has less confusion than the end of season 7. True fans will start to lose interest if things continue to move as slowly as they did through much of season 7. Overall though, I have really loved "When Calls the Heart" & can't wait to see what the next season holds for Elizabeth & all us "hearties".

I have loved watching When Calls the Heart since it first aired, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw this spin off series. Like When Calls the Heart, When Hope Calls is wholesome family entertainment that I would allow my kids to watch with me. In true Hallmark style, there is a conflict in nearly each episode, and It almost always works out.

The characters are loveable, draw you in to the storyline, and have to deal with real-life issues like loss of loved ones and traumatic childhood experiences. Overall I love this almost as much as When Calls the Heart. I can't wait for the next seasoning of When Hope Calls.
