Dune: Part Two (2024)

This just blew the lid off Sci Fi Fantasy Films!!

One of the most incredible amazing sci fi fantasy masterpieces of our time! Directed by a Canadian visionary - Denis Villeneuve, starring, Timothy Chalet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin and Rebecca Ferguson. From the impeccable talent, to jaw dropping cinematography, and the glorious soundtrack by Hans Zimmer you have yourself one helluva follow up to part one! At nearly 3hrs, it really went by fast! This is definitely a movie worth re visiting again and again! In fact I put up there with Empire Strikes Back. Every movie this director has made (Blade Runner 2049, the Arrival, Prisoners, Enemy) all are just incredible works of art!!

Go see this!! Now!

Ok wow.

2hrs and 15min.

Opening credits were amazing.

Cut to start of film.

Started rather flat, a bit convoluted and a wee messy. As the Synder's film carried on it somewhat improved and began to showcase what Synder does best- Slow mo, sweet shot action sequences, and profound set pieces.

Being as it was a part one of two it felt very incomplete by the two hour mark.

The acting was fine. Lead actress was interesting. Everyone else was subpar. Cool soundtrack, great dolby atmos soundtrack too! Is this for everyone? No. Fans? Maybe. Die hards? Ya okay.

Regardless give it a shot. You can always turn it off. Right?

The Family Plan (2023)

Here is a mess of a movie. It's frankly absurd. Probably the dumbest thing we've seen all year.

The above is only partially true if you go into this Apple TV Produced film with the crazy idea that it's gonna blow your expectations out the door.

This is what I call a FUN DUMB ACTION movie in reign of Last Action Hero, Or any Mark Walhberg action movie of past. It's ridiculous, sometimes annoying, and has poorly written bad guys. The plot is whatever you want it to be. There's no real story here. Just go with it. Pop your popcorn, add lots of butter and push play on your Apple remote. It's 2hrs long but don't panic. You'll survive.

Mary (I) (2019)

Let's begin.

Once upon a movie, there was one called Mary. It starred Gary Oldman, but why? It took place on a sailboat that was blatantly haunted, but of course nobody in the film bothered to check. Off they go, charting a course that is rerouted by the Evil known as Mary. Oooo!!! Noooo!!!

Ok but seriously people this is the kind of film you'd find in a Walmart bargain bin for $2. The writing was meh at best, wasting talent on screen. The horror wasn't so much the film but rather the fact this thing exists.

Do yourself a favour and avoid it like the plague.

It's absolute garbage. Every frame of it.

Citadel (2023– )

Like bland pizza.

After the Gray Man on Netflix by the Russo Brothers I was anticipating this to be something good! Really good. Unfortunately 4 episodes in it lands like bland pizza. There's really no oomph to this or even intrigue or excitement to be honest. It's like luke warm tea, unsweetened. There's two solid leads and Stanley Tucci. And none of them have anything to do except deliver meh dialogue and boring action sequences. Has the spy series become derailed? The answer is simply NO. There are good ones and this should have been WAY better!! Will there be a season?? Seems very unlikely. But hey this is Amazon...

Rabbit Hole (2023)

This Show is On Fire!!

Unbelievably good!!! Keifer Sutherland is fantastic in this series. Each episode begs the viewer to come along on the adventure. Each episode delivers one helluva punch and doesn't let you look away!

Kudos to the writers, the creator of the series and the directors! You can definitely feel a lot of time, care and attention went into crafting this thriller.

With only 8 episodes one wonders do we get an ending? Or are we going to get a season 2??? Nobody knows. At least not right now. Here's hoping for more. This is too good to see it get cancelled after one season!! Way too good!!!! Follow the Rabbit Hole. It's worth every second of your time.

Ghosted (I) (2023)

Honestly What the Heck?

No disrespect to the two leads, but fire your agents or stay away from bad film choices.

6 writers and that's the absolute best they could come up with?! The dialogue was brutal, the cameos were wasted, the action scenes were boring, and ok I will stop now.

Chris Evans go back to Captain America. Ana De Armas we need to figure out what to do with you.

This was one of the worst AppleTV original movies thus far. I cannot possibly recommend this mess. Nothing was good really. It wasn't funny, despite trying to be, nor was it exciting despite trying to be.

Stay clear of this atrocity. It's the worst.

Emily the Criminal (2022)

It Aint Criminal to Watch

This is Audrey's masterpiece. Her acting reckoning. From Safety Not Guaranteed to White Lotus Audrey Plaza has demonstrated to us that she is a force to reckon with. She commits to this role with abundance and fiery rage.

A simple story about a woman whose past is marked with a criminal record who ends up working for a guy who offers others a job that is no doubt illegal but will pay them once the task is completed. This intrigues Emily and she eventually takes this even farther. It's a good solidly entertaining thriller that will keep you glued till the very end. Hopefully will see more from it's director and Audrey Plaza.

Personally I'd love to see Audrey in an action-thriller or sci-fi with a big name director.

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)

A Must See!!!

Disclaimer: It FEELS like 3hrs but don't let that deter you.

Here we go.

The music (soundtrack) of this particular film was breathtaking to say the least. It captured every moment perfectly.

The Cinematography again, captured the depth and scope of the battles that unfolded before us on the screen

The Movie Overall: WOW!!! Yes it was tough reading subtitles for 2.5 hrs but it actually was worth the effort. You could switch the audio to British UK but honestly the Original German language was best for this.

Fantastic movie guys!! Brutal! Scary! Real! Right up there with Saving Private Ryan!

Nightmare Alley (2021)

Maybe I missed something?

But this film was a serious chore to watch. The pace it moved at was gruelling. At a runtime of 2hrs and 30min I was very skeptical in watching something like this. However numerous reviews from both here and RT had peaked my curiosity.

So I went over to Disney+ (Canada) and started to watch this thing.

Bradley Cooper, Ron Pearlman, Cate Blanchett, Mara Rooney to name but a few were all top of their game in this without question! It was merely the long, convoluted story (pacing) that was really hard to endure.

Del Toro nailed the production with incredible set pieces and great camera work.

But again it was a ghastly chore to sit through.

And the ending? Still puzzled. Sorry. Got some of it (the "twist") but not all of it.

Mediocre Recommendation at best.

Beast (I) (2022)

Lots of Bite, but not enough Chew

Ok. Weird subject title. Let me quickly explain.

So here we are in the middle of an African safari and we just witnessed some (redacted) prior to. We settle in with Idris Elba + his two daughters. One that is wearing a sweater over another and complaining how hot it is, the other daughter dressed a little more applicable for Africa (had to point that out because who wouldn't dress for the place and the heat? Lol) Anyways the movie for the most part kept me intrigued. I found that the most of actions done by Idris Elba's character was relatively believable. Even from his buddy Martin (Sharlto Copley). The CGI of the lions were pretty damn good.

So where does the not enough Chew fit in? Well without spoiling a single thing it definitely came near the end which I felt a bit rushed/predictable. A few other scenes too but nothing that wrecked the film by any means.

Overall a good but not great, but unfortunately forgettable Lion vs Man movie. Idris Elba deserves a lot better.

The Sandman (2022– )

What Am I Watching Exactly?!

I don't quite understand for a better word what the heck I'm watching?!

Ok let's unpack that. The visuals are awesome. I mean wow!! The characters are hard to follow. "The Sandman" character is a dull boring 1 dimensional character that lacks any real mmph!

Each episode feels disconnected from one to the next. Best though was 24/7. Before that Episode 2. After that just long winded boring incoherent episodes.

Why oh why didn't HBO claim this?!

Sorry guys I just don't get it. I'm trying but it's agonizing.

Prey (I) (2022)

Absolutely AWESOME from beginning to end. Fantastic Indigenous actors including our lead Amber Midthunder.

The SfX were decent, the story very well done, and Predator everything we hoped for.

Highly Recommended.

Uncharted (2022)

Brutally Boring

Seriously, it was. Tom Holland was basically Tom Holland playing Peter Parker playing Spiderman. Mark Walhberg in a snorefest role that was painfully hard to endure.

The story or lack thereof one, was a mess. The action sequences were nothing new, and everything else was just subpar. Extremely disappointed in this movie which under better writers and direction probably could have been a million times better.

American Siege (2021)

Bruce Willis Health is Deteriorating

Apparently not everyone reads the news but BW health is in bad shape. He has been diagnosed was a type of dementia that is making hard for him to remember lines etc. So yes the studio's reduce his lines so he can do them. Yes the movies produced are terrible but it's money in his pocket for his family.

It's awful to think our John McClane days our over.

The Terminal List (2022– )

Not as Awesome as Reacher or Ryan but...

It was pretty darn good in my opinion!!! Despite the man's religious beliefs blah blah (Chris Pratt) is way better than all those Jurassic World movies. He actually delivers and actually became the character that I invested in for 8 episodes.

Now granted there were some over the top moments, moments that made you go yeah sure ok, and others that were borderline cringe worthy.

Overall though it was good. Hopefully will get another season.

The Man from Toronto (2022)

Waste of Talent.

I blame the writers and the director for this embarrassing mess starring two heavy weight actors reduced to forgettable characters with bad lines.

A movie like this should have been funny especially with Harrelson and Hart, but instead we are given zero laughs, a pathetic story and a stupid ending.

Skip it. Seriously.

Finding Nemo (2003)

The Greatest Pixar Movie Ever.

Finding Nemo had brilliant, breathtaking underwater scenes that blow your mind!! Characters that you connect with, that have emotion, style and humour. The soundtrack is perfect to boot. Honestly what more could you ask for? In glorious 4K HDR with vibrant Dolby Atmos it gives this iconic classic a whole new life!!

Death on the Nile (2022)

Not bad, not great.

A decent Agatha Christie remake with a relatively strong A lister cast including Kenneth Branagh as Detective Hercule Poirots.

A tad long, but entertaining enough. Some great cinematography throughout. In conclusion it was fun, breezy, but ultimately forgettable.

But seriously though what the hell was that? This movie was a embarrassing as the Will Smith slap! The most ridiculous premise ever with lousy subplots thrown in to remind you still have 2hrs and 10minutes of this atrociousness!

Don't Breathe 2 (2021)

Don't Breathe - the Original is the only one worth watching period.

This like the Kings Man was unnecessary follow up. It was filled with plot holes, scenes that made you roll your eyes, and a ridiculous ending.

Seriously what a waste of 90min.

The King's Man (2021)

I'm sorry but this was a totally unnecessary prequel to already far better two films.

For starters it was way too long. I'm still unsure what the hell it was even about exactly? I think I spent more time being entertained by my phone vs this movie.

Anyways I didn't like it at all.

Yellowjackets (2021– )

I LOVE it!!! Who would have thought a show about a woman's soccer team crash landing in the middle of nowhere manage to successfully be an engrossing horror series?? This thing is incredible!!! 3 episodes in and Sunday can't come soon enough!!! Showtime you've blown mind!! Between this and Yellowstone Sunday's kick ass!!!

Strongly Recommended!!! If you can stomach it you will love it!!! If you appreciate good horror then this should do the trick!!!

CSI: Vegas (2021–2024)

I Miss the Old CSI big time!!!

I'm just going to say it. This new CSI is terrible. Let me explain. This new cast is unfortunately a total bore (and probably deserve better). Grisam and Sara as background characters suck. They are the only reason why I'm watching this. I miss the old cast, those crazy story lines, the cross over episodes etc.

Instead we are left with subpar acting, extremely predictable storylines, and mediocre crimes of the week.

Honestly if they could round up the old cast, writers and make a feature length movie with NY and Miami I would totally pay to see THAT!!

Gallowwalkers (2012)
