This movie was simply the best movie of 2018, visually probably one of the best in the decade. On my list - 8.5. The only other movies on my list rated 8.0 and above for 2018 are:
Dragged Across Concrete - 8.1
Shoplifters (Koreeda) - 8.0 and
Sorry to Bother You - 8.0.

What the Hamilton?
3 April 2021
I'm at 35:54 and I had an urge to come here to check if I am sane. If I were an American, I would be deeply embarrassed by this... embarrassment in every possible sense. On the other hand, I absolutely understand those who praise this (it doesn't deserve other term): this is just the consequence for the already brain-washed majority.
And I am absolutely aware that there are no chances to discuss it, to argue, to reach that majority's mind at all, while at the same time they scream they are "open-minded".
Close it please, while it didn't leak what's left of that "open-ness".
P. S.
I am used to watch the movies with subtitles only, so I could follow the script/lyrics easily, so I didn't miss anything - oh my God what a banal mess.

Compilation that bothers
8 March 2021
While compiling narratives of many directors and movies already mentioned here doesn't bother me at all (on the contrary, it was done so meticulously that it makes it art of itself), what strongly bothers me is the other compilation - language.
Three facts:
Now we can only imagine how to correlate these 3 facts, especially the latter 2, but what we might get from this as a side effect is to produce general, dangerous prejudice against Slavic nations. If there aren't already enough of them.
And this bothers me a lot. But, while almost sure it was a compromise, I am positive true art doesn't allow any compromises, and this could easily get back to the director as a boomerang in his future work, one way or another. Pity, though...
- The book which story happens in Poland was banned there.
- Director couldn't get any funds from Poland.
- He didn't script the story in Polish, nor the story happens in Poland, and he invented "Interslavic" language, compiling all, or most of Slavic languages.

The Wire
(2002–2008)
You probably guess this headline - best ever!
7 December 2020
I don't watch series. i find them too time demanding and mostly too boring for my taste. I tried to watch dozens of them and each try only firmed my belief from previous sentence. The last and the best series I have seen so far was "Brideshead Revisited" with Jeremy Irons, and I watched it back in the 80's!
But covid and the lack of qualtiy new movies forced me to give it another try to series and finally I got to "The Wire". I didn't like that much 1st season. but couldn't deny the fact that it was different from anything else I have watched before. I was even furious how first season was resolved. And then, I realized - I am furious the same way in real life for the same reasons how things described in the series work! That was a blast. Second season just sucked me in, but the third...
To sum it up: "The Wire" is probably the best thing that ever happen to TV, and the 3rd season is the best season in the series, and the 8th episode is the best episode ever written for the TV, at least to my taste. Such a natural writing, one of the best actings I have ever seen (so real and natural again), masterful directing and building up the tension, especially in the S03E08.
I am not sure if I am sad or happy to enjoy the series for the first time in 2020.

Invaluable Testimony
21 July 2020
It is great to have this as testimony why Serbian society failed to advance in after-Milosevic era. Post-Milosevic nomenclature didn't have any agenda or any concept for after-Milosevic era, and they didn't know how state system works, as stated by Srbijanka.
NIce story about painting, though.

One of those movies when the more the time passes, the more you appreciate it. Couldn't be better than that. Weird, strange, but not confusing for a moment. WIll stick you to the seat from the first moment.

Very recommended

Beautiful movie, almost a-must to watch. The only thing I don't understand is so much hype about it. Most probably made by people that didn't watch too many movies, or by the ones just introduced to the art.
