This movie was not good at all. At the beginning I thought I would give it an honest chance despite all of the negetive reviews the movie had recieved. After all, I have been waiting for this movie for years. Though after finishing I realised the movie truly was as bad as most say, if not worse.
First of, I found it incredibly annoying that the furious five weren't even in the movie? I mean the only real familiar characters, except Po obviously, are Shifu and Po's dads. That's it. I assume this was because they wanted to save money as other big characters, like Kai and Shen appear for a moment in the film but don't have ANY dialogue. What's the point in bringing back the older villains if they're just gonna stand there making an angry face? If they wanted to save money they should've just not even had Kai and Shen in the movie. It would have made the final scenes with the Chameleon a lot less odd.
Secondly, the movie doesn't even feel slightly similar to the other one's. For example, the tone feels way off (Looks more like a spinoff in terms of graphics) and occasionally the things that happen and the way certain characters act are out of place. A perfect example of this would be the scene after the Chameleon is defeated. I don't want to spoil it incase somebody reading this hasn't seen the movie yet, but wow. It seriously made me laugh out loud because of how bad, stupid and silly it was. It was completely out of place and didn't make any sense at all. Makes me doubt if the writers had even seen the movies prior to this.
Personally I also felt that the movie was way too fast paced. A lot of dialogue is too short and more scenes should have been added for depth, which this movie severely lacks. When I was reaching the end of the movie, it just felt like the Chameleon got defeated out of nowhere and the movie was practically over. This also means nothing important really got accomplished in the movie and it was just completely unnecessary story wise.
To finish of I just wanted to make a short list of a couple of things I thought was wrong and/or bad with the movie (Including but not limited to things mentioned above.) :
Story, characters and lack thereof, pace, lore, length, dialogue, tone, humor, graphics, ending.
