The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping (2024)
First Hand Personal Experience- This is 100% Accurate
As someone who was to a school with the exact same structure (Cross Creek in Utah), from 1997-1998, I can confirm that every detail about the schools setup is completely accurate. I never experienced abuse, or saw anyone being abused, to the degree these women did, but I do believe that it existed in other, similar "schools". From levels 1-6, with the privileges of makeup and shaving being earned after level 3, to the school's education structure, with independent learning and the requirement that we pass all exams with 80%+ to advance in a subject.
I was lucky. I had a wonderful group leader/therapist who cared immensely. I learned so much and grew emotionally, but I can also see how those that didn't have the same experience would have left with so much trauma. And it didn't mean that the bulk of my experience wasn't anywhere from terrifying to extremely uncomfortable.
I'm glad that the parts of these programs that are corrupt are being exposed, and that their insane shield of secrecy has been pierced. I hope this brings some sense of peace to the many that need it.
Four Weddings and a Funeral (2019)
Perfectly hilarious show...Why is it over?!
I watch a lot of TV...A LOT. As a semi-depressed single mom, I haven't laughed this hard or sat up and felt "high school butterflies" like this, until I watched this show. Please bring it back! <3. - Kristen Susemihl.
Senior Year (2022)
Watch if you can enjoy lighthearted & STOP bagging on weight loss!
If you can let a funny and lighthearted movie be just that...then watch this. No one wants to read your 17 page analysis as to why this movie is or isn't "woke", or whatever. And please stop saying anything negative about healthy weight loss! I know personally how much that tore Pat from Fall Out Boy up...and not understanding why he was being trolled and picked on when he did something healthy for himself, and has the kindest heart. Don't be an a$$hat and congratulate Rebel for looking so amazing. -Kristen Susemihl.
Don't Look Up (2021)
One of the most engaging movies I've seen...
I'm super ADHD, so it takes a lot to keep me from constantly pausing a movie, if I finish it at all. But not only did I not look away once, I dreaded it ending. Plus, I love when people are able to constantly cuss without sounding like white trash.
How can anyone not love this movie? It's hilarious with an all star cast who have perfect chemistry. And, while it drives the extremely important message most people choose to ignore every day deep into our hearts and minds, they did it in a way that doesn't make it too intense on a "serious" level, but at the same time accomplish sending the message of how serious the issues we're all ignoring are.
Just watch it. Worst case, you'll find it hilarious. Best case. Maybe some people will start pulling their heads out of their a****.

The Morning Show (2019)
It's rare...I thought possibly impossible for me to be a woman of few words...
But:
1. Combining America's two sweethearts = Brilliant
2. Letting Jennifer Aniston finally shine in her true acting glory = Beautiful
3. An all star cast with a clearly amazing team of writers = Unheard of, until now.
Best. Show. EVER
Bravo.

Y: The Last Man (2021)
I want to vomit reading these half minded reviews!
First of all, Brian K. Vaughan cannot screw up writing in any way, shape or form. I read this graphic novel in 2013 or 2014, and it sealed the deal as his bring my #1 favorite comic book/graphic novel writter (Neil Gaiman bring a close second).
The show doesn't fully follow the original, but it's still amazing. For any of you who haven't read the original, I HIGHLY recommend it. And I wasn't your "typical" comic book fanatic when I did read it 7 or 8 years ago.
Give this a chance like I did, please. Without any preconceived notions of what the show "should" be. You won't be disappointed. -Kristen Susemihl.
