High (2020)
Indian Gem
So I usually don't watch short series mainly because they are poorly made and it's mostly below average but I have to say MX Player finally brought out a Gem. The whole experience is very binge worthy, there has been an improvement in the cinematography, sound engineering and the storyline is just very well setup, it's perfect for someone who wants a break from mainstream hollywood crime based movies to something with an Indian feel. This series is perfect for someone who has watched Narcos, Breaking Bad and other shows based on the theme of drug abuse. The whole show is just something different than selling drugs it's not just focussed on how drugs are sold but rather focuses more on how it has an effect on community and families moreover how people in power try so much to supress the truth.
Captain Fantastic (2016)
Unique perspective, Fatherhood
After Greenbook this is the second film that I loved watching Viggo Mortensen take a lead in. This movie has a lot of values on fatherhood, its desperate try to make them fit for the world, I love its unique take on fatherhood, their perspective of the world. It's a fresh break from the mainstream movies and the best cover of Sweet Child O' Mine.
Bad Boy Billionaires: India (2020)
Intriguing, Curious
Have you ever wondered growing up listening to names of some of the greatest frauds in History wondering how do they get away with it? Well if your curiosity has got the best of you I Highly recommend you watching this series! I can't say much about this series as its pretty self-explanatory and describing this would just ruin your viewing experience in general.
Paatal Lok (2020)
RAW, fresh, Dark
There is only one word to describe this whole series RAW. Story is very fresh and I love the way it unfolds the darkest secrets presiding in India turn by turn. Specially loved Jaideep Ahlawat's acting, very natural and a true backbone for the success of this series. Another notable performance is by Abhishek Banerjee playing the role of Tyagi and he will definitely light up the love for dogs if you're not a dog lover to begin with. Conclusively would say that the story is very engaging and would keep you on your toes till end.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Funny, Wholesome!
Judging by the ratings I was having double thoughts whether to go with it or not but it was quite worth it. The animation is just perfect along with grooving songs. The movie is funny, wholesome and the end credits scene is one to be waiting for. So watch the movie and do let me know how you liked it!
All Hail King Julien (2014)
Casual good watch with children
Like me, if you're an animation fan you'll love what they have done with the show! Every episode comes with a different trouble created by our beloved King Julien.
The show is very entertaining throughout, and casual, full of life lessons, for instance there are episodes portraying bad habits adults often stuck on. In a sentence, the show is a mix of children theme with dirty jokes for adults. So even if your kids are around you can watch and have a laugh together.
Modern Love (2019)
Still a watch for Non ROMCOM fans
Absolutely loved it! Not just because I'm a RomCom fan but the reasons being the storyline, casting, and performances - which were quite carefully curated and the selection of music to accompany those was brilliant!
With each story I learned something out of it. The entire experience was very giving, many tearful moments along the way making you wish to move to New York just to live that life. Additionally, I feel that we can all relate to several parts of the story on a personal level. So I'd highly suggest that you watch this one even if you're not a fan of Romantic Comedies.
Hasmukh (2020)
Mildly gripping, Repetitive
Not gonna lie I was having high expectations from this Netflix mini series, Part being that Vir Das is one of my favourite comedians. I found the initial episodes (1-3) mildly gripping and repetitive. The standups in the series are not upto the standard level except few punchlines which I really enjoyed. But this can be forgiven as the series isn't about standups and rather focuses on the politics happening outside the show.
