La Fortuna (2021)
waste of time
I have been very excited, when I have heard that Alejandro Amenábar had been working on a series. But this is an amateur hour. The main american cast is great, but they can't make the screenplay better. Holes in the plot, disappearing and reappearing of the main protagonist, dialogues from a high school play and so on. My advice: avoid this one, and watch Alejandro Amenábar movies.
Invasion (2021)
sooo boring
I have waited for this show. I so wanted it to be good. After three episodes - big disapointment. How on Earth the creators thought it would have been an interesting take on "War of the worlds" ? Supposedly Apple TV+'s paid for this $200 Million !!! How much of it did they give to writing staff ? Maybe next time they hire somebody with an interesing idea and writing skills just for one mil. (I can do it for half mil, just saying..)
No Time to Die (2021)
For the first time I have walked out of a Bond movie.
My relationship with 007 is about 40 years old. For the first time in my life I have walked out of a Bond film. The first half of the movie has its moments, (Ana de Armas is excellent) but the second half...
How on earth the writers thought, it would have been a great idea to bring back a villian cliche from the 60-ties era ? After Spectre they should have known better.
Another one (trying without spoilers): did anybody really read the dialogs before shooting the film ? Kids on Wattpad sometimes come up with better lines. So disapointed.
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
not usual Dave Chappelle's level
I have been a huge fan of Dave Chappelle for over two decades, but this one is a big disapointment.
Not a long ago "Sticks & Stones", "Equanimity", and "Bird Revelation" were funny and insightful.
Not the case with this one. Nice, some interesting ideas, not funny though. Has my sense of humor changed so much in the last two years,
or Dave had started to believe, that he is always funny even without proper material ?
The Protégé (2021)
Nice surprise.
Although I'm a fan of of Jackson and Keaton, I wasn't expecting too much of this film (especially after Hitman Bodygard 2)] What a surprise. Kind of sequel to "Leon" by Luc Besson ?. Definitely above average of the genre.
