Black Mirror: Beyond the Sea (2023)
Predictable and has plot-holes
Finally, an episode that actually feels like Black Mirror in the sense that it involves technology and dystopian tragedy. However, it lacked the polished storytelling and tight plot that makes the first season special.
The main plot-holes leave you guessing why they weren't covered:
1) Why didn't humans stay on earth? Maybe the tech is too recent and if it fails, the humans are still up there to complete the mission. These space missions can cost billions of dollars and relying on an experiment isn't an option. They were kind of celebrities on earth, which shows that this technology wasn't widely adopted by society.
2) Why did Cliff leave the tag in the tray? He knew David was not trust worthy but he trusted him with his tag? This one I can't explain, just ridiculous. Mental gymnastic: he forgor.
Rick and Morty: Rickdependence Spray (2021)
Empty humor
It was filled with low hanging jokes that felt empty and completely out of character. I didn't even think it was gross, it was just poorly written compared to every other Rick and Morty episode.
Why would Rick need bombs from the military to destroy the Grand Canyon? I hate this powerless Rick, I'd rather see his toxin version... at least he knew he is God and invented the toxic equivalent of electricity.
