The Batman (2022)
I love Batman and really wanted to like this but....
Very contrived plot and real missed opportunity with The Riddler character. Rather than having clever riddles and harkening back to the classic "detective" version of Batman, we get a continuous mispronunciation error that was the laziest of writing. Alfred got such minimal screen time and mainly served as a vessel for Bruce to shout "you're not my REAL father" at in various different ways like a petulant child. This wasn't the only instance of petulance as we see Batman at one point screaming and bashing his arms on a wall in what can only be described as a temper tantrum. The less said about Catwoman the better and we can only hope the home release sees an alternate cut with her whole obtuse and unnecessary side plot minimised. I went in really wanting to like this movie as Batman is the only real superhero I've ever really followed but this was like an attempt to copy Marvel including the next movie tease in the last 10 minutes. Generic mindless superhero movie if you want to turn your brain off, but I would strongly suggest sticking with the DC animated movies if you're a true Batman fan.
The Curse (2022)
I really wanted to like this
I kept watching each episode hoping it would get better, but alas it was just more disappointment. Unintelligent whinymen stooges interspaced with know-better strongwomen to act as the straight characters supposedly classifies this as comedy, but the laughter will be absent. It's like a 6 part stupid-dad/wise-wife commercial.
The Secret Life: Jeffrey Dahmer (1993)
Best of the Dahmer movies
It's not glitzy or sensationalised but rather an eerily accurate account of the Dahmer tale.
