I might like a DC show
16 March 2023
I had no expectations going in, since I'm no DC fan and have no idea about the source material. To be honest I only gave it a chance because of Misha Collins.

But I actually might like this show.

I liked that it was not to dark, but also not too cartoony. The characters actually seem to have fleshed out backstories and the actors playing them actually make me believe in those.

Of course there were hit and misses, but it was the pilot episode. As I've heard there were changes made between the pilot and the rest of the episodes in filming location and probably also in budget, so maybe bad wigs will no longer a distracting factor for the ultra fanboys, who I've seen complaining on other platforms.

At last I give the show an extra kudos for having a trans character. Representation matters. Especially in times like these in a country like the USA.

Story and character that just draw you in
16 January 2022
My neurodivergent brain doesn't like to just listen to stories, so podcasts never really were an option for me. Until Bridgewater came along.

The incredible cast and a compelling story got me hooked right from the first episode. The episode length was just exact right to keep me concentrated, and the sound design really added to the feeling of being a part of the story as it unfolded. To think that everything was recorded during the pandemic via Zoom!

Can't wait for the second season!

As if this was the finale for season 1
23 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Over the course of 15 years we have seen Sam aand Dean struggle against the path set out for them by their fathers. First their biological, then their heavenly one. We have seen them from loners to part of an ever expending found family. We have seen them both acknowledge that hunting is not the be all and end all goal in their lives. If only they could get rid of the roadblocks keeping them from their respective happily ever afters.

And they did. They beat all odds. They found love, they adopted a son, they had a plan for after. And they got rid of literal God, who didn't want them to have all. But that was 15x19.

15x20 came and pretended nothing like that ever happened. Oh, they defeated the big bad, but you know, just keep on hunting, I guess. And first chance Dean is killed by a rusty nail, send to heaven, where his course of action is to just go back on the road until his brother arrives. Because obviously they had to be endgame. After Sam lived a miserable live with a blurry wife and a sone, who ultimately never caused him any joy.

I don't know who cause the show to revert back to toxic co-dependency and wincest themes of the first seasons, but they are already claiming Covid did that. But Covid did not make Destiel canon in 15x18 just to kill of the gay and bury every mention of the confession for two episodes. Covid did not literally take away Dean's voice in all things not related to Sam and hunting. Covid did not pretend for two months that the third lead of the show had also quarantined to make his reappearance.

It is like a bad fanfic AU come to life. A Game of Thrones' ending to a little show, that once could.
