Really bad stuff..
28 January 2010
This is just to let anyone seriously considering to watch this movie know that it is a complete waste of time. It isn't funny, entertaining or exciting, it's just bad. It's badly written, the characters do not make sense, there is no payoff whatsoever. I just watched until the end to find out whether it was really that bad, or if it had anything to offer in its ending. It has not. The only good thing about it is that it's short. Still, it feels veeeery long.

I think Hutton is a good and likable actor, and he tries hard in this one, but it does not help much. Ryan is way over the top (as her role requires her to be) and that means I could barely stand any scenes with her (which amount to 85% of the movie). So please, go watch something else. Almost anything will be more rewarding than this...

Guy Ritchie's second stinker!
4 June 2006
Imagine some would-be-Tarantino to do "The Game", and you might end with Guy Ritchies "Revolver". It tells the story of an ex-convict who has made a fortune with gambling after his release. Then he discovers that he suffers from a rare blood disease. Then some obscure loan sharks (a guy from the "Sopranos" and Outkasts Andre 3000) enter the scenery, and the story gets really weird. What's worse, the characters start delivering lines that even the Wachowskis would have found silly. The only good thing is the acting by Jason Statham, the rest is hardly entertaining, at times really boring and very short of unwatchable. Ritchie is a good director when it comes to showing cool things happen in a cool way, but here his story is such a mess that his talent is almost completely wasted. I really liked "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock...", but I fear that after two movies that not only sucked but also completely tanked at the Box-Office, his career may be over. Or at least postponed until enough people have forgotten about the infamous "Swept Away" and this movie.

Funny but cheap trash!
17 September 2003
Found this flick in a videostore, it cost $2 to buy. The whole movie stinks really bad! The so-called colonel, who would the hero here if the cover could have been trusted, must be in his eighties and is barely able to walk. He nevertheless manages to shoot some of the dumbest ninjas in the world. Then the story leaves the colonel, which makes sense given the old man's inability to DO anything worth mentioning, a now two terrifyingly eighties-looking guys take over, in what must have been some sort of story. I got lost a hundred times but didn't mind, because the movie is so bad, it's real fun to watch. Zero-Budget trash with actors not deserving that name. Go check it out!
