Stupid
13 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The idea that an influencer got a six figure paid internship in London for a hotel chain that also paid for her wedding in Thailand and gets a free thirty thousand dollars dress is completely stupid.

Why are we cultivating a generation of youngsters that actually believe that these things happen to people in real life? And why all of this rom coms only happen to beautiful and super wealthy people.

Media has the responsibility of not present unrealistic scenarios especially to vulnerable individuals like the gen z.

It is awful that it was the number 1 movie in the UK, not funny, overacted and completely unnecessary and disrespectful.

I was disappointed
14 April 2024
Amy Winehouse had a tumultuous life, full of success and drama, but this film does no make justice to her legacy.

The story is narrated on a chaotic way, like if parts of the movie was left on the cutting room. One minute she was living with her mum in a flat and the next she was living in a house in Camden with a flatmate that disappeared inexplicably.

One minute she was a young 18 year old and the next she was a successful singer that quit her label. Is like her career and achievements were not interested for the screenplay, if you didn't know Winehouse story and this is the first time you see it, you would think that the girl was just a bit stupid. The only interesting thing that happened to her was Blake, and for those that followed her career we know that Blake was not good for her, and she had more interesting things in her life than being obsessed with that man.

She sang with Tony Bennet! And was like the peak of her career! No mention of that; she lived in the Caribbean trying to get better, and also no mention of it.

Is sad that Hollywood just simplifies someone's life for a movie and then that's it... very very sad to see what her legacy has been turned to.

Highly recommended

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't think much about it when I started the series, but it was a great story, the main character was so real and all his struggles were very familiar.

He is a person that doesn't have the confidence to navigate the difficult world he is living in, and the woman stalking him saw him as an easy target, because he suffered before and was vulnerable.

It wasn't judgmental at all about the stalking, it presented the woman as what it was a person with mental illness, I didn't know why was he so weak at the beginning, but then you understand the journey he's been going trough and all makes sense, his shame, his fears, why was he so naive.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but this is a must see, is not all about the stalking, is about lonely people that don't have nothing and are desperate for attention in a society that ignores the small ones.

A remake of a mediocre 90s soap
2 January 2024
Dudes or "manes" as they call it in Spanish isn't anything but a pretentious insufferable remake of an old soap opera from the 90s that was quite bad originally.

The characters are not very credible, and the whole story about start ups is a bit over the top. But definitely the worst of the series is the acting of the main cast, is like they didn't even tried to create a character with a back story, they just decided to have each one of the main guys as one stereotype of what they believe it is a man.

Looks like this was a complete waste of money from Amazon, I couldn't even go trough the first episode without cringe.

Don't wast your time with this rubbish.

Nice but not enough
26 November 2023
Jonathan Bailey is amazing here, as he is on everything he does, the "lavender scare" piece is quite interesting, although I doubt the venues or the places are correct.

I would say that the series would be just great if it stayed on the 50s, the whole Washington drama and the schemes that the government has been found for ever surrounding the love story of two characters trapped in the society of that time.

But the big problem of the show is that is so pretentious and disrespectful with the audience, the actors are at least 40 on the 1950s part of the show, so how comes that by the 1986, 30 years after! Matt Bomer only has a few silver hairs and a couple of badly drawn wrinkles? This small detail just takes all the joy one can have watching the show.

After finishing the series, a bad taste stays, what was the series about? Was it about skippy's activism? Or about Hawk's self acceptance? Or about politics? Because the series did not develop any of these themes enough to tell a story. I am sorry because this must have been the result of the hard work of a lot of people, but when the script is so weak, there are no strong performances that can help it, and it looks like the project was driven by Matt Bomer's ego rather than wanting to show a character.

The Killer (2023)

did not like it.
16 November 2023
Photography, direction and especially sound editing was absolutely amazing, the timing of the scenes maintained and lot of tension for the spectator, great direction and in general everything should work, unfortunately the problem I see with this movie is mainly that the material is not much to work with.

I got quickly hooked at the beginning in the Paris part, and got invested on the character Michael Fassbender was portraying, but by the third act his performance and the overall story was already boring.

I won't spoil anything for anyone, but i can only say that this is like a PC version of Kill Bill, although the Killer's motives to do any of the things he was doing is unclear, Fassbender was one note all movie, very difficult to believe that he had any feeling or that those would motivate him to go on a vengeance spree.

By the end of the movie, nothing interesting happened, i was not expecting redemption or anything like that, but we did not get absolutely anything, and honestly i am still wondering what was this movie about?

Not even the amazing Tilda Swinton could add something to script that was empty and honestly felt like an afterthought, you had the star, the locations, the director, the theme, you just need an excuse to put all of that in a movie a la "Femme Nikita" but without soul.

Good story, a bit over acted
30 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the film, and I have to say I didn't know the story behind it. It is an interesting theme but the movie tried to be more like a Wolf of Wall Street than to be authentic.

My problem with this is that the timings don't look right, she didn't even finish high school, but was proficient with the numbers in terms of commissions and growth? Plus she started one day and in less than a week the company grew, and by the time six months passed she already had stock valued on $15 million?

Not even a year passed and there were deaths, incarcerations, repentance, surgery and trial? I think the creative liberties taken by the movie in order to give it a bit of context ended up impacting the credibility of the story. And at the end she gets a 15 month sentence but after that time she has a new company and is thriving? No explanations no notes at the end. I think it needed a bit of work on the script to make it more credible.

Terrible
25 October 2023
I am sorry for Jack Whitehall, but this movie is bad, and he is a big contributor to the failure of the film.

Is clear Jack is not an actor, he is pretty bad in this movie, it was difficult to differentiate when was he a robot and when not.

Shaileene's performance wasn't great either, it was evident that half way the movie she just gave up, like what the hell, let's just get this over with. And honestly by that point the audience also gave up.

There's not real story, it could have been explored in a different way, but unfortunately the film looked cheap and improvised from beginning to end.

Nothing to highlight, not even a single scene was credible, and for the most time was boring.

This show lost its plot
17 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
As if Bradley Jackson wasn't annoying enough already, now she is in space too... Is there anything that this woman can't do?

What is this season about? At the beginning was all about sex harassment in the work place, then about covid and now about the sale of the streaming service?

I get the try to be up to date with what happens in the world right now from the girl boss female perspective, but the dialogue, the scenes and the storylines feel fake and forced.

There is no chemistry between the actors, and it feels like written by AI making sure that both on the stars have exactly the same amount of lines and close ups, it is very forced, very boring. All supporting cast is just there like white noise, there wasn't a single scene that wasn't about Alex or Bradley and how brave they are.

I thought I would give it another go to see if it addressed the mistakes from the past, the bad writing or try to give the main characters some "character", but they failed so hard, that I couldn't even finish episode 1.

Why?
30 July 2023
Why have these group of unstable women have another show and another season?

Is not only about the ridiculousness of seeing middle age women with too much money and zero intelligence, but now you jus see them reproducing and creating new versions of them.

Let them live their lives in peace and please spare us the pain of having them releasing 2 seasons a year, I only feel sad and pity for these women, they are trapped on a glass jail and are just and spectacle. They can't even be at home without their "glam squad". They are so uselesss that not even push their own babies or slice their cucumbers.

Please cancel this garbage! The world is over these stupid people.

Ugly Betty meets devil wears Prada ... not groundbreaking
23 June 2023
How to tell exactly the same tired story once again of a marginalised person that is somehow "special" but does not need or want to work for their dreams because they are already super glamorous?

This is a poor attempt to revive the same trope that ugly Betty and Devil wears Prada and many more have explored successfully in the past. But in this case is just insufferable.

The main character, Marco, is the main problem. I don't think that the actor is bad, but the part is so stereotypical unreal and exaggerated that probably will destroy his short career. He is a combination of the entitlement and annoyance that Emily in Paris has been hated so much for, with the added element of him being an average boy that wears far too much make up and high heels landing an executive assistant job at a cosmetic firm, with no experience more than working part time on a make up counter and wearing makeup?! I know that there may be influencers in the world that survive from that, and every body hates them, so why make this kind of person the centre of a story?

Netflix and in general TV products are making the same mistake again and again, and is believing that character so two dimensional are there just to tick off the box of diversity, without worrying on making the people with real conflicts.

Watching this series is painful, and I really hope that instead of hiring diversity advisors, they start hiring drama and mental health advisors. I am very concerned of the unrealistic message that these kind of shows send to our youth. The message that you are entitled to "success" just by wearing make up and "slay", that anyone with a little more experience who wants to guide you is considered an enemy, and that going around calling people "straight boy" or "white man" is something that is appropriate in the environment we live on.

I only gave the stars because of Kim Catrall, she deserves better, and she looks like she does here best with the terrible material she is working with.

Is OK but not great
28 April 2023
I did not remember the story very well having seen the movie when I was a child, and I never read the book, but in my memory it was a beautiful story.

This movie had some Interesting sides, I was surprised by the plot twists and I found it enjoyable. Jude Law was credible and entertaining, a developed character that is consequent with the backstory.

Photography is marvellous and the locations were magnificent. The costume design is on point and the soundtrack is average.

Unfortunately the only issue with this movie is indeed Peter Pan, the poor kid is not overacted, is just completely flat, no emotion or intention, just a boy that clearly look uncomfortable having to play a character and that is a big mistake from the producers, I understand why this never went to cinemas, the acting from Peter is terrible. So much that I feel sorry for the poor kid.

This was simply the best episode
21 April 2023
I was moved to tears. Chet Baker, Amsterdam, the boat hose, the feeling that it doesn't matter what happens every thing will be alright...

At the beginning of the episode I thought it was a bit forced, like they wanted to create storylines for everyone out of nowhere, but after a bit you realise that is an ode to the city and to the feeling of being ok no matter what.

I won't give any spoilers, it doesn't need them. But is a very enjoyable experience, this show has always more about feeling well that about football, and with this episode you get immersed on a feeling that life wonderful. Kudos to the writers for not focusing Amsterdam on prostitutes and weed, but about being happy with who you are.

Is another Telenovela
14 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It is a telenovela disguised as a TV series. The acting is quite average and obviously all the characters are very cliche.

The premise is interesting, but not original, there have been plenty of telenovelas with the same or similar story.

What is appalling is that this kind of things, like organ trafficking could easily happen in Colombia or anywhere in LatinAmerica. Sad but true, Colombia is a dangerous country with unscrupulous criminals, and this series is nothing new compared with the stories we have seen in the news.

Apart from that is a good production, nice photography, etc. But lacks empathy and relatability, I watched up to episode two and was more than enough.

The worst movie of 2023
1 February 2023
Starting with the fact that all dialogue is extremely dull, and the try to talk about "the culture" on a very forced way that sounds extremely forced.

Jonah Hill is annoying and his character is totally fake, all about being politically correct and planting jokes .

Julia Louise Dreyfus is the only rescatable one in this piece of trash, but even she looks uncomfortable on it.

I want to forget about this stupid movie where nobody has a real name but a derogatory terrible suffix that just borders in racism.

It is really offensive to use people's identities to focus on their differences with the only objective of making cheap comedy.

A complete disappointment
8 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There are mane positives with this movie, the visual effects and the design, that is undeniable, but when you think deeper then there are many questions that really disturb me.

The first movie was all about saving the environment and how the blue people were defending their world and how they live and respect it. This movie is all about the revenge of one of the marines against the protagonist, nobody cared about the world or the natural resources exploitation, it was like terminator, a bad guy chasing another one destroying everything on its way.

The other thing is this fascination that Hollywood has with machine guns and bullets, this is the future right? So why on earth are the humans still using guns? Also, it is 2023 now, many countries are moving towards electric cars, but in this future the space ships are still exploding because they are full of gasoline? Wouldn't humanity found an alternative energy source by then?

Finally, it looks like their focus was to create the products for the franchise, now is all underwater, so new toys can be released, what is next? The snow? I know they are planning 5 more movies, but I barely tolerated this one, 3 hours and half of the movie was about the kids learning to dive under water and live the recurrent American team of the bullying, don't they understand that the rest of the world do not bully and probably other planets neither? The other half was shootings and explosions. At the end nobody learnt anything and the society in there remained intact, while the USA government I guess on representation of earth, just spent billions of dollars trying to kill an exmarine ?

The whole premise was just ridicule. And sorry but I won't get back these three hours of my life ...

Good try, but fell flat
1 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
At the beginning I was really interested on the vision that the series was going to take, it looked like it was going to explore masculinity and as they keep on saying all trough the episodes, end toxicity.

The main four characters are excellent, they are real people and they evolve, I was very excited to see that the series had both male and female writers, and a female director. Storylines were a bit lame but believable and all the set up is very good, camera photography, etc.

By the time you are half way you can start seeing the cracks on the story, and unfortunately these are all the female characters, there isn't a relatable or likeable one, they are selfish, vain and egocentric. From the crazy ex-wife, the controlling teenager, the idiotic influencer or the liberated lawyer, all of them use men as an accessory, there is no depth on their stories, they do not evolve, and at the end the series is just a huge letdown.

It was a great premise, but poorly executed. I was hoping for a fresh European take on the new gender roles, and ended up with a series where men are just the same stereotypes and women are completely shallow.

Cheesy
3 December 2022
Just one comment: "there's only one room available" and 5 minutes later she has new dress and straight silky hair. Next morning she is curly again .... 😂

The movie is completely cheese, with all the clichés you can imagine. Full of fake snow, and a very stupid plot. I am not sure if is a Christmas movie or a RomCom? Or a very bad drama...

This was one of the biggest waste of time in my life. His and her drama are completely exaggerated, they movie tries too hard on playing with formulas and that makes it fail, all the characters are badly written and very badly executed.

It is worst than the hallmark movies, but I laughed all the way trough 😂

Just all the same cliché
24 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It looks like the studio had Julia Roberts and George Clooney on a contract and didn't know what to do with them, so they asked them what did they want to do and they said "something in the beach" and the whole movie was written around that.

Seriously there wouldn't be any difference if their daughter was marrying a boy from mid Wisconsin, or a boy from Bali, all the characters in Bali were simple caricatures of how the "Americans" see the exotic cultures, and I though we were passed that kind of offensive movies in the current world.

Julia Roberts character is completely plain, she is another white woman in her 50's working on an art gallery and earning millions, George Clooney is an Architect or something, but he is also rich! By the way Clooney is 62 and Roberts 58, so is according to the movie their child was born while they were in uni, 25 years ago, we are looking at a couple that finished uni in their mid 30's and still managed to become successful in 10 years... or are they playing 40 somethings?

The worst character of all is Billie Lourd's best friend trope, she does not have a life of her own and exists only to appear here and there to try and make a joke about being an alcoholic looser, pay attention to the creepy scene where Clooney is at the hotel bar in the middle of the night, and she appears out of nowhere just to have a drink with him and leave. Really it would have had more sense if she had an affair with the dad... the bride character, I already forgot about her existence.

I could spend pages and pages ranting about this movie, but I am just surprised that old Hollywood is still around, telling the same story with the same racist misogynistic stereotypes. I would be surprised if this even breaks even, but we really have to stop the ridiculous "star power" on movies, it affects the kind of stories we want to see and how do we want to be represented.

Don't waste your money with this rubbish.

Season 2 sucks
13 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't say that season 1 was amazing, but at least had a clear theme and it was somehow entertaining, it was also well timed with the environment on 2019 of the "me too" movement and in a way was very similar to bombshell. There was a certain level of suspense and you were interested on the twists, it looked well finished. Reese Witherspoon's character was annoying and pushy, but it was well balanced by the rest of the cast so it was tolerable.

Now the second season actually feels like Reese Witherspoon's vanity project, her character is just not coherent, is no longer a journalist looking for the "truth" but more of a celebrity diva pushing for limelight. She sings, has a lesbian lover, has diva tantrums, etc. So it looks like a very desperate attempt to make Reese look edgy, and is a complete failure, she is the worst of the season. Then the whole storylines, nothing seems to go anywhere and even the Covid news seem dull in these series.

I really doubt I would like to finish series 2 or what he series 3, we have to stop supporting vanity projects for Hollywood celebrities and look for original stories that focus on the story rather than the "star".

Amazing
28 September 2022
Ana de Armas shines on this piece, her portrayal of Marilyn is far from a caricature but a real human being suffering throughout out the whole film with the life she is trapped in. There is no point on trying to compare it with a biopic as this loosely based in real events, and once you stop thinking about it you really start enjoying it.

The cinematography is superb and provides a familiar feeling, is well crafted based on her most famous portraits from Kirkland to Winogrand, and takes us trough the different phases of her life.

The audience is involved with the drugged, sleepy sensations on the second part of the movie, the part with the president is just like a nightmare that never ends and is treated superbly!

Ana de Armas is going to the top league with this movie and has proved she is a great actress, but I believe this piece will get many award nominations.

Predictably boring
24 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What is this fascination that Hollywood has with high school teen drama? Although Tom Cruise is older, the whole movie feels like the same old tired premise, a teacher that comes to a school and teach the kids a lesson.

There's the popular trope, the nerd and the bully trope, and the hot woman that can understand the troubled character that Maverick is and is the only one that can handle him.

Almost all scenes are about how great Maverick is, he is above any other human being, single handed defeats all of his pupils, which are stronger and younger, on the first day of class. He destroys a very expensive plane on the very first scene and he is promoted to teacher?! WTF?

The weirdest thing about the movie is that they are targeting a plant that is surrounded with defence weapons across a long cannon, where they need to fly no higher than 100 feet..... so drones do not exist in this universe?!

The whole premise is stupid, I am sorry... I tried to give it a chance, but nobody would believe that Tom Cruise is the best of the best, this is just another vanity project for him, and he certainly looks pathetic trying too hard to be one of the boys...

Who is writing these things?
11 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The story is absolutely unreal, unfortunately the characters are completely unrelatable, from the very beginning you hate them all, the original version was about more human situations, this is a caricature of woke characters.

It seems like tv and film now are trying to comply with a "diversity" trend, but on trying to do so are just ridiculing the whole community. These Gen Z boys are entitled, disrespectful, with no sense of community apart from "Me" and what I deserve.

For a generation that cares so much about equality and anti racism, the show is very racist and there is not much consent. Babylon doesn't look like a place one would like to go, and you don't have have anything else to feel but sorry about all of the people on the show.

The shooting on the club was bad taste and opportunistic, such a tragedy shouldn't have to be used as a strategy to get likes on the show.

Very average
8 September 2022
The movie is OK, nothing special. The special effects are below expectations it looks like Disney should have spent a bit more time fine tuning them and the story is a bit slow. Is understandable why it has been released directly on Disney+.

Unfortunately the only negative point is Tom Hanks, his character is quite boring, and at points very difficult to understand. Sad for an actor of such trajectory that his performance is so bad.

Nice nudge to other movies, nice colors and good attention to detail, really I shame that they didn't spend more time on getting finished better. I had to take a few tries before finishing the movie.

This is the worst movie I have seen in years
28 July 2022
Full of gratuitous and unjustified violence, trying to be a comedy about torture and killing. Completely insensitive about the gun crisis that the US is suffering, where killing people for sport is "fun" and there are no consequences, why is Hollywood perpetuating this sort of movies?

The characters are half baked, and the female representation is completely cliché, women are just there to nag the loser male characters.

This movie was clearly not worth a cinema tickets and is the worst spent 2 hours of my life.
