Laverne & Shirley: Not Quite South of the Border (1980)
Neir, Mexico
What could possibly go wrong here at a nice vacation resort. Well maybe it's not that nice. Certainly not 5 star accommodations here.
The fact that one wall was missing in the hotel room will play into the comedy of this episode. ...and it doesn't disappoint.
When a tropical storm blows in, it is absolutely hilarious. (Not that there were other things that were quite funny already). As usual the physical comedy from Penny & Cindy is outstanding.
Actually at least a decade later, (I can't remember which episode of The Nanny), Fran Drescher was on vacation when a tropical storm blew in. They were outside during the scene. Excellent physical comedy as well.
I do remember Fran mentioning in an interview that she was a big fan of Laverne & Shirley.
Anyhow this episode would easily be in my top 10 favourite episodes of L & S.
Law & Order: Organized Crime: Ashes to Ashes (2021)
Top Notch Episode
No question this series has been well above average.
No spoilers but Ashes to Ashes would easily be in my top 3 episodes so far. Well written, acted, directed, etc....
I'm sure this show will keep you engaged.
Very highly recommended.
Crossing Jordan: Forget Me Not (2005)
Not Just About Forensics
An excellent episode where Nigel, Jordan & Garret shine. No spoilers as this is a show I would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre of TV.
Inspired direction job from Roxann Dawson of Star Trek Voyageur fame.
Easily in my personal top five 5 shows from the series.
Elementary: Heroine (2013)
The Truth
Excellent finale to a surprisingly good first season. I really didn't know what to expect when starting this series.
Well written, directed and executed by the company of actors. Looking forward to start season 2. A shame I didn't see the show when it was on the air.
Recommended.
According to Jim: The Dream (2005)
Dream or Nightmare
Actually a very funny episode. Jim directed this one. Kudos.
Kimberley Williams-Paisley is priceless in this show. The friction between Jim & Dana is generally first rate. This episode is no exception.
Highly recommended.
Little America: The Silence (2020)
The Applause
This is by far the most engaging episode in the series.
Mélanie Laurent absolutely shines in this show as does the rest of the company of actors.
Well written and beautifully executed. My personal favourite in the series.
Three's Company: Furley vs. Furley (1981)
What are you doing here, Zipper?
....Bart Furley to Jack, forgetting his last name for the umpteenth time.
Good to finally see Ralph's brother Bart. Is he has bad as Ralph has made him out to be? You betcha. Extremely mean, nasty, unlikeable, etc....
Nice to eventually see Ralph stand up to his brother after Bart was mean to the trio.
Solid episode. Lots of laughs.
The Simpsons: A Serious Flanders: Part 2 (2021)
What a great surprise in Season 33
Personally this was my favourite episode in many years. Fantastic homage to a great movie.
Maybe it wouldn't be in my top ten list of all time but it would be close. The two part episode never got dull.
If you're a fan of the show, I think there's a great chance you'll enjoy these episodes. Just my two cents worth.
Bob's Burgers: Bob Day Afternoon (2012)
One Of The Top Episodes From The Series
This would be in my personal top 5 of all time from Bob's Burgers.
No real spoilers here but there are some great one-liners in this show. The phone calls between Louise & Mickey are worth the price of admission.
Very well written. Highly recommended.
Laverne & Shirley: The Diner (1980)
Simply Hilarious
So many good episodes from Season 5. For me this episode and the two part "Murder on the Moose Jaw Express" would be my favourites. Honourable mentions to "Not Quite South Of The Border", "The Wedding" & "Why Did The Fireman Die".
Got to love Laverne's Diner voice and her new diner name for Shirley as "Betty".
Poor Shirley has to deal with bullies, degenerates, etc....through the dining room scene. She was quite skilled at carrying the plates using arm service. Got to love when she wants to take on the entire diner after she's had enough.
Great episode. Could have easily been the Season finale.
The Simpsons: Krusty Gets Busted (1990)
The Best Of Season 1 - The Cannon, The Cannon.....
This would be my desert island show, if I could only bring 1 episode from Season 1.
Homer in the courtroom was terrific. I love the video of Homer taking the "cowardly leap" into the heavily salted snacks.
Of course, this is the first episode with Kelsey Grammer as the voice of Sideshow Bob.
Great episode.
