Uno y medio contra el mundo (1973)
Fatalistic at its best.
The whole movie is a roller coaster to hell, totally depressing and decadent, not even the ending has a bit of a shine to it. The beauty and good performance of Ofelia Medina is the only redeemable, but it's only 3 minutes in the whole movie.
The image and the photography are quite mediocre, the shots have an absence of light that with the plot of the film seems to be intentional but it is just a lack of cinematographic knowledge.
Vicente Fernandez makes several interventions with playback of ranchera music, which is what this film was made for after all.
In short, I could say that with a bit of imagination you could have had a slightly more enjoyable product.
The Square (2017)
A French movie....
The music is the worst I ever listen in a story drama, too long for me. From the inherent narcissism of even the most ordinary of people, to the shallowness of popular culture, to the complex behaviors and interactions between people of disparate backgrounds. Again, these ideas are not necessarily novel, but the film presents them in a way that is consistently entertaining - even when certain exchanges on- screen are uncomfortable. There is a scene that takes place at a gathering of elite artists and sponsors that is as squirm-inducing as anything I've seen all year. I also must point out the constant use of dead-pan humor with verbal and visual gags throughout as one of the film's secret weapons. Really tedious movie for me.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Plot 4, action scenes 3.
Disgusting. It's a shame they spoil a trilogy for a little more money. It's even more embarrassing that they don't even invest in special effects, what stood out from the Matrix movies was undoubtedly the excellent action scenes. Sad. You realize the fraud when you see that they do not even invest in costumes and supporting actors. Sad.
Amor Cautivo (2012)
Worst Mexican's Soap Opera in the History.
Really Bad Production, empty history and without Direction. A huge waste of excellent actors, very poorly directed.
