The People We Hate at the Wedding (2022)
Classic, funny and great one liners!
I read some of the reviews but decided to watch anyway. I like to make up my own mind, although if a review is 1 stars I admit I'll give it a miss. I wondered if most of the people reviewing actually watched the same movie. I needed a laugh and this movie provided that. I thought the title was a bit long. But who cares. The main characters suited their roles. Omgosh, Jorma Taccone was gold. The scene when he urinated on his father's feet, my husband and i lost it. We rewinded the scene to watch again, that actor was the best. Kirsten Bell was her awesome self and Allison Janney was solid in her role. So many great one liners, lots of laughs and great acting. I still think about this movie a week later!
Skinamarink (2022)
Yeah...nah
I watched this with friends. We all couldn't wait for it to end. So boring. Yeah the cinematic photography was cool, but like the other reviews, twenty or thirty minutes would have sufficed.
Grainy footage throughout. Acting, the little that there is, is rather cool. You'll get to see plenty of the walls, roof, carpet, Lego and feet. Not scary at all. I wanted to fast forward it a lot but we managed to get through it. At the end we all exclaimed the movie needs to be called shitamarink.
A long drawn out movie that could have had more potential. It's a big no from me. Great some people enjoyed it though!
Becky (2020)
Funny, clever with teenage angst
Becky delivers on the angst of a teenage girl. A 13 year old one with dead mum issues. One way to get her anger out of her system, is when a bunch of prison escapees rock up at her holiday home and start a crime scene. The build up gives a decent picture of the families background. The story takes off really quickly.
Without giving to much away, this movie is like home alone with horror. The kills are clever, they work well.
Warning, a dog does die in this movie.
Great acting, great script, decent gore and is a little different to what's out there. Not horror horror but enough to be one for a horror movie night with the girls!
Malevolent (2018)
Actually a great movie and ending
I'm not sure why the low score. As someone who loves horror movies, i thought this was really great. I decided to make up my own mind about this movie and I'm glad I did. The storyline is different to other ghost movie which makes it different. The acting is really good. The ending i didn't see coming for quite a while . Of course there are moments of "why did you do that "and "you can escape from that", but what horror movie doesn't. More jump scares would have been great. Decent kill scenes and creepy home!
I think horror movie fans have high expectations. Just sit back and enjoy this movie for what it is!
Fender Bender (2016)
Not that bad. Really enjoyed the ending
After reading the reviews I decided to make up my own. Yeah the killing scenes aren't very gory and you'll wonder why the girl does certain things. Overall the actors are great, the killings simple and the ending was not what I expected. Definitely worth a watch 🎬
Clickbait (2021)
Excellent short TV series
Fantastic short TV series with so many twists and turns. Lots of moments when you think you know but never do to the end. It's interesting to see how online photos and names can be used to anyone's advantage...
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006)
Good grief, hair flicking, pouting and wet lettuce unite!
I really believe this movie was made just to 'showcase' the blonde wet lettuce acting skills. FAIL. The other blonde is way better. Lots of hair flicking, pouts and looks from leading actress that make this movie average. The kill scenes are cool. The starting scene is really good where the two guys are on the roof. Not the worst, worth a watch for anyone interested. Ending is great. Oh and you'll see some boobs too.
Crawl (2019)
Pretty good flick
Crawl is actually a pretty good movie. Yeah it has typical 'don't go down there', ' as if he/she could survive that' moments but hey, there are so many movies like this. Great atmosphere, scary alligators, Moody set, cute dog. Definitely worth a watch. Good blood scenes and decent father daughter relationship script. I felt surprised at who survives.
Searching (2018)
Different, clever and well done
When I read the synopsis for this movie I couldn't understand how it would work for a movie. But it works really well. You'll get an initial understanding for the family, and then you'll see how the father tries to find his daughter. All through the computer. I've watched it twice now and I'd watch it again!
