Mission oriented killer and the return of Harrison Scott
1 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode features two effective story. The majority of the team go to Cleveland to track a man who turns out to be a mission oriented killer who is avenging a loss. Jon Gries is compelling and chilling as the unsub. In the second story Rossi flies solo to LA when he finds out his old Marine sergeant Harrison Scott is missing. Rossi finds him and learns he is upset because his estranged son wants nothing to do with him and he has a grandson he's never met. Rossi talks to the son but it doesn't seem to do much good. There is and emotional scene at the end, where after Rossi returns Scott to New Directions, the son, daughter in law and grandson appear and he gets to finally meet the boy. Another powerful, poignant performance by Meshach Taylor as Scott, which turns out to be his final performance before his death from cancer.

Dark secrets
27 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was a very good episode. A broken water main leads to four bodies being found buried in the backyard of an African American family. They find all the bodies are connected and the key are the two men who were killed thirty five years ago. This episode is powered by the performances of guest stars L. Scott Caldwell,Seth Gilliam and especially Glynn Truman. Turman is a man who killed out of hate. His scenes with Joe Mantegna, who is also terrific, are incredible. The ending, where we see the horrific act that was perpetrated on him in flashback with Billie Holiday singing strange fruit as the soundtrack explains what caused that hate to be born in his heart. It also does something extraordinary. It enables us to feel sympathy for what he went through while not at all condoning his own crimes.

Race against time.
22 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the best first season Walker episodes. Walker and Trivette busy a lowlife named Critter who tries to make a deal for himself. A convicted serial killer, Woodrow Wilson ,is scheduled to be executed in just a few days. Critter says he is innocent. He directs them to a creek where they find women clothes, purses, etc buried that connect to the victims. Under pressure Critter reveals the only info he really has,the killer's first name,Leon. While investigating,Walker and CD,who worked the case together, and Alex who prosecuted, remember their aggressive actions in the case and begin to have doubts. The investigation leads Walker and Trivette to the home of one Leon Muncie and discover he has his own personal electric chair. They realize that Woodrow, who worked for the electric company, must have been sent to investigate Muncie's excessive electric usr. He saw the chair and witnessed Muncie kill someone with iin Muncie planted evidence in Woodrow's house and backyard. He visited Woodrow in jail and said unless he went all the way to execution, he'd kill Woodrow's wife and daughter .Leon shows up and a gunfight ensues where Leon shoots a propane tank that blows up ,injuring both Ranger. When Walker awakens the house is empty. He sends Trivette to the hospital and goes to the auto wrecking yard where Leon works, stopping him from destroying the evidence and delivering a well deserved ass whipping. Alex and CD get to the prison in time to stop the execution and Woodrow goes home to his family. There is quite a lot of suspense In this episode and some strong emotional stuff too. The regulars are good. Leo Burmester gives a strong performance as Woodrow and Don Fischer is convincingly evil as Leon.

Liza meets Jonbenet
19 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This case is of course based on the infamous Jonbenet Ramsey. Law and Order CI was always good with guest stars and with this one and the previous episode Bedfellows they cast back to back legends. First the great Rip Torn, and here the incomparable Liza Minnelli. Liza plays Mrs Harner. Years ago her pretty little daughter Amberleigh was brutally murdered and the case remains unsolved. She has all but lost faith in the police by this point and leans on her author neighbor for support. There is a John Mark Kart like pedophile who tries to claim on responsibility but didn't really do it. I love the scene on the plane where Goren pours the creep champagne. There are plenty of twists and turns before we get to the real killer whose identity is a shocker. D'onofrio and Erbe are rock solid as usual as Goren and Eames as they unravel the cold case mystery. Eric Bogosian is good as Ross and Leslie Hendrix is always a welcome presence as Dr Rogers. The centerpiece, though, are the two main guest stars. Liza is incredibly powerful as the shattered grieving mother and Bill Irwin is riveting as the neighbor who holds secrets. A stellar outing.

The Return Of Buford
31 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The BAU are brought to Chicago to investigate the brutal murders of several men in Morgan's old neighborhood. A phrase the unsub scrawled at his murder scenes "Look up to the sky" tells Morgan that the killer was another victim of the man who molested him as a boy,Carl Buford. The scene where Morgan gets a victims list from Buford is electric. You can see Morgan still hates his guts and Buford hasn't changed a bit, despite his conversion to Islam. The killer turns out to be Rodney Harris,a guy who harassed one of Morgan's sisters on Morgan's previous home visit. Morgan takes him alive after talking him down .Also,in another note,Stan Gordynski apologies to Morgan for arresting him before and for the way he treated him as a boy. The performances are good Shemar Moore shines as Morgan cgoid onfronting the demons of his past, and Julius Tennon is even creepier then in his first episode. Skipp Sudfuth is good as the repentant Gordynski, and Thomas Gibson is strong as always as Hotch. One of the best.

Scream To The Skies
26 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode stayed with me ever since the first time I saw it when it originally aired on NBC. Quincy and the rest of the ME staff are called to assist with the recovery of survivors and bodies from a jet airliner crash in Santa Monica Bay. Quincy himself is on the Coast Guard Cutter that arrives first on scene. He saves a stewardess then finds a little girl unconscious and near death from hypothermia. He places her under his jacket and zips it up to try and warm her with his body heat as they rush her to the cutter. Later he,Sam and Dr Asten have been doing autopsies all night. Asten is sending them home when one more body arrives. Quincy and Sam decide to do It immediately. Quincy pulls the sheet back and is shattered to see the little girl he tried to save. Quincy withdraws from work. No one can reach him by phone. Finally Danny takes the extraordinary step of visiting the morgue to seek help for Quincy who is on his boat in a deep depression even refusing to eat the meals Danny brings him. Asten goes to try and get Quincy to work through it. Before this, the stewardess Quincy rescued cones to ask him to help her and others take on the FAA who won't order life rafts on planes that fly over her water. He brusquely turns her away. Finally Quincy gets going again and goes to Washington to testify before a Senate committee. The senators seem receptive , especially after a.mock crash demonstration that showed only one of them should survive, but Quincy is dismayed to find that the legislative process may take up to 2 years. Outstanding episode featuring a particularly powerful performance by Jack Klugmam and one of John S. Ragin's best as Dr Asten.

Hall Of Fame.
17 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the best episodes ever. CD is being inducted into the Texas Ranger Hall Of Fame. The publicity around the event draws the psychopathic serial killer behind the one case he never solved back into action. The Hangman begins killing young women again, and worse, calling CD to taunt him about it. CD, Walker and Trivette search for him. At one point CD get in a long foot chase but has to stop as he is too out of breath and needs to recover. Walker and Trivette give chase but the madman stabs Trivette. He comes down some stairs where he encounters a still recovering CD. He charges but CD is able to bring up his gun and shoot him dead. There is an earlier scene that shows just how good an actor Noble Willingham was. He describes to Walker and Trivette the original horrific murders and investigation and the toll it took on him. It is a powerfully emotional moment as he is brought almost to tears.

What happens when we die?
11 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is an episode where an unsub drowns and resuscitates his victims to try and find out what they saw while dead . The actor who plays Chase the unsub is effectively creepy and the kill scenes chilling. The subplot with Rossi and first wife Carolyn is even better. In the previous episode, Carolyn asked Rossi to help her end her life after a diagnosis of ALS. In this one,he arrives at her apartment to tell her he just can't do it,and finds she's already taken the pills. The scene where he gently holds her in his arms and cries she dies is one of the most powerful the show has ever done. Joe Mantegna's and Isabella Hofmann's strong performances are powerfully emotional and heartbreakingly beautiful. If you don't cry at the end of this episode you need a humanity check.

Out Of The Past
1 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
One of the best season 6 episodes. John Savage is brilliantly creepy as Lucas Biggs, the serial child molester/murderer who is the original suspect in the 25 years earlier murder of Jeffrey Ronson. The scene where he identifies the owners of the caps from his storage locker is chilling. He is also compelling when he shows a little humanity later. Savage is matched by the powerful performance of Michael Shannon as the man who tries to lead Benson to Deacon Bring, who really killed Jeffrey and also molested Avery as a boy. Terry Serpico is convincingly evil in the small role of Deacon It is incredibly moving when you find out how Avery removed himself from his girlfriend when he found out she was pregnant. Mariska Hargitay's scenes with. Savage are unforgettable.

The girl nobody knew
25 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is an excellent episode but also one of the saddest. Eve Cleary disappears and even her roommate doesn't notice for SIX DAYS! The team in searching for her has a hard time finding anyone who really knew her. She lived a chameleon-like existence from aspiring model to hard working salesgirl to sweet soup kitchen volunteer. Her last night was the worst as she and her clubbing friend got into a potentially ugly situation with her sleazy Russian."helper" and a "movie producer" . There was a guy she argued with at work and club who turns out to be her ex boyfriend from home in Indiana. Martin and Sam go to Indiana and find Eve's real name is Becky Radowski. They meet her haunted mother who is racked with guilt for not protecting Becky from her abusive alcoholic husband. Back in Nee York, they discover she fled the hotel where the sleaze was happening. She called.ex Brady who didn't answer because she changed her mind about going home with him . Then she called her soup kitchen guy friend, who when he saw her skimpy dress ,felt compelled to cop a feel. She runs from him and we.learn she was later struck and killed by a taxicab. Her mom comes the morgue and weeps over her daughter. This episode also has the first of two appearances by Charles S. Dutton in his powerful Emmy wing performance as missing kid father Chet Collins.

Birthday boy goes missing
24 January 2022
This is a favorite episode of mine. The cast is excellent as always, especially LaPaglia, and there are solid guest performances from David Henrie, David Paymer, and Megan Gallagher as Gabe and his parents. This also has a resonance with an incident in my own life. Years ago ,I went on a bus trip to see the Red Sox play the Yankees in the Stadium with my Dad,my brother-in-law,two of my uncle's, my cousin and my three nephews. When we were making our way out of the Stadium, there was a big crowd surge and one of my nephews got separated from us. We went to the bus thinking he might have gone there but he wasn't. Things were very tense for more than a half hour My Dad and uncle's went to look for him but couldn't find him . Finally my cousin climbed a small way up a light pole and saw him making his way towards us to our great relief. Fortunately , nothing like what happened in the rest of the excellent Without episode happened to him,but I still remember it every time I watch this one.

Excellent episode about the murder of a lawyer named Felder who was handling the appeal of Steven Dupree a.man on death row. The investigation leads to a fence, also dead but from cancer.s bartender who remembers the fence talking to a man named Michael Gordon.and the fence's widow who remembers her husband talking about Gordon who frightened him. Gordon is arrested which brings in a lawyer who once represented him ,none other than Jamie Ross. This relates back to an anonymous tip that turns out came from Ross herself. The ADA on the case,Andy Wolinsky now a judge. Wolinsky denies everything. McCoy offers to give Gordon a deal if Ross comes clean, but she resigns instead. The case is resolved when the detective on the case tells McCioy Wolinsky knew that Jewelry Gordon stole from the dead Mrs Hagen was recovered an's asked him to cover it up This one of Sam Waterston's best performances. Carey Lowell is good as always as Jamie Ross. Richard Masur oozes arrogance as Wolinsky. Michael O'Leary, best known for many years as Rick Bauer on Guiding Light shines in a small role as the grieving husband . The topper ,though,is Gordon Joseph Weiss. With his cold dead eyes and gravelly voice,he paints a chilling picture of an evil soulless killer.

Warning: Spoilers
In this one and a later SVU episode,Ellen Pompeo plays evil young women very effectively .in this one she's Jenna ,the sole survivor of a massacre at the Weber home while Dad is out getting cataclysmically hammered. The ending is chilling. In Trivia , this show is based on two fascinating real life cases,John List and Bradford Bishop. Bishop is more fascinating because he's still at large 48 years later. He might even be dead given his age at the time. I also think it resembled the Patricia Colombo case, where she and her boyfriend slaughtered her entire family.

This episode is the final regular one for Khandi Alexander, the terrific actress who brought the stalwart coroner Dr Alexx Woods to vivid life in the show's first 6 seasons. When a man on a jetski is killed by a flagstone thrown from a bridge, the man turns out to have been just released from prison after serving 8 years for selling illegal pills called Y2K,and was riding with a woman he'd just met. The flagstone is traced to Henry Woods,Alexx's husband ,who bought it and others to their backyard. The woman,Mary, denies involvement with murder or drugs. The older Ortega is well and nastily played by Geoffrey Rivas, who later played a Vegas cop for many years on CSI. A wonderful ending to one of my favorite shows
2 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've been a marvel fan since I was a kid,so when Agents Of Shield was announced of course I was going to watch it. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I gave it a chance and have never regretted it. So now we come to the final episode and the end of the journey. They wrapped it up in style. The team roundly kicked the Chronicom's asses and saved the Earth. The best part is no one died I had been most worried for Fitz and Simmons. The way Jemma kept getting upset when someone asked about Fitz made me wonder if he weren't already dead, maybe sacrificing himself in some way to help the mission. When he showed up I was thrilled but still worried that either he or Jemma wouldn't survive the final battle, but indeed they did. I loved their meeting at the end. It was good to see that even though they were no longer a team.they'd all moved on to good lives, fighting the good fight in their own ways. I loved the happy ending for Fitz and Simmons, reuniting with their daughter Alya who'll one day be Deke's mama. The final ending ,with Coulson putting on shades and flying off in Lola , was sweet.
