Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (2018)
Average but not terrible
Ok, it barely includes goosebumps monsters and relies on slappy entirely but it's not as bad as people say it's still good for young kids. It might not be as good as it's predecessor but it sure isn't a bad watch for families.
Goosebumps (2015)
Decent movie
The plot doesn't really make sense but who cares it's just a kids movie I think it's quite enjoyable for families. It's a good movie overall.
Casino Royale (2006)
A rare reboot success that saved the franchise from mediocrity
Casino Royale saved the franchise's legacy after the mostly underwhelming run of Pierce Brosnan. It was a necessary reboot allowing the filmmakers to build a new story arc with a younger, less light-hearted bond and stepping aside from the ridiculousness gadgetry of the past few films.
No Time to Die (2021)
One of the better Bond films.
Well, to start off the gunbarrel sequence was disappointing. The opening was a decent start to the film. The song is too quiet and slow for a 007 theme. The first car chase with Bond and Madeleine arguing and the bullets failing to go through the car is honestly brilliant. The middle of the film doesn't have too much chatting in between fight scenes. The villain doesn't appear enough but this does add to the mysteriousness of his character. The final third is really high intensity and features the first ever death of James Bond. I don't think this is a good choice as now it pretty much has to be rebooted and at best will be a soft reboot with the rest of the cast remaining and James Bond becoming a code name. The fact that it says "James Bond will return" at the end suggests the code name theory for Bond 26. Overall it's one of the better Bond films. Just about earns an 8.
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)
Silly and confusing film
This waste of time film is very silly, which reaches its peak in a shot of Michael in chains with his mask on. The exiting ending to Halloween 4 was wasted and replaced with another basic Halloween movie premise. I can commend it for not just "killing" Michael like pretty much every other movie does. Overall a pretty bad film.
Friday Night Dinner (2011)
Average and a bit silly but some laugh out loud scenes guaranteed
The humour is a bit too slapstick for me but its got a few good laughs, not sure if I would recommend but if you happen to stumble across it watch it for a laugh i guess.
Spider-Man (2002)
Good movie all in all
The fights are a bit anticlimactic. Good humour, a pretty average costume and corny high school scenes mix up into a decent movie. I would recommend it.
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
Funny film
I went to see this at Its local premiere and I really cant say I was not entertained with everything, the satire, the visuals, the characters. It would be a great film if I did not feel like it had some liberal message behind it. Even if so it is still pretty funny. The film probably deserves more publicity as It has not been talked about much for a while now.
Knives Out (2019)
Predictable and overly PC yet entertaining
I viewed this at the cinema and at the time thought it was around alright to good. It had some good laughs and minor suspense although the mystery itself is rather predictable and the film seemed pretty overly PC. Daniel Craig and American accent are not a good mix. I was entertained for sure and I would say I am glad I went to see it.
Family Guy (1999)
Good show at first but declines
At first this show was a great Black Comedy sitcom but slowly turned stale and tired.
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
Not the best return of all time but not terrible
After being "killed" in Halloween 2 this addition came after a failed attempt at an anthology series in Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. Overall it can be commended for not just ignoring the fact he would be severely injured following the events of Halloween 2 but It just ignores his blindness and the plot itself is rather uninteresting. The mask of Michael Myers is terrible in this entry and adding insult to injury on the posters the original mask is shown! Michael Myers "death" in this entry is rather weak but is made up for to some degree by the films finale of the daughter of Laurie, Jamie, doing a little re-enactment of his first kill. Far from the worst in the franchise yet far from the best.
Clarence (2013)
Funny if a bit weird
Nostalgia stops me from hating this show but it is certainly not great and is very strange.
Steptoe and Son (1962)
Great classic British show
A hilarious British show before the BBC went pc mad. It manages not to be too dated even today but sadly isn't very well known to today's audiences.
The Inbetweeners Movie (2011)
Nothing special but not bad
I think the fact both inbetweeners movies are set mostly abroad is disappointing as it would be better if the first was set in the U. K. right after the events of season 3 and the 2nd could then stay the same. Jokes not terrible and all in all a bit of naughty British fun.
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)
Weak entry to a decaying franchise
This entry into the Halloween series is unfortunately Donald Pleasance final film appearance aswell as the final film of the original timeline. Micheal Myers death in the theatrical cut is rushes and disappointing and hilarious in the producers cut. Overall a very bad film.
Halloween II (1981)
Decent Sequel to a good film.
Halloween 2 is an alright follow up to a good slasher despite the odd retcon here and there. Micheal Myers death is very satisfying, showing him walk slowly before falling shows he is truly strong. It's one of the best entries in the franchise.
Halloween (2018)
An average and unappealing entry to a dead franchise to make money.
This rehash of the dead Halloween franchise is not really bad or good, it has a decent score but the kills are rather boring. I find the acting to be quite bad and the lines by Laurie like "Happy Halloween Michael" just come across as cringey to me. Michael Myers mask is very original looking but the weathering looks a bit unrealistic. Laurie seems to carry the same PTSD as in H20 in the other timeline. This entry just did not really need to happen.
Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)
Unsatisfying mess sprinkled with a lot of 90sness
Perhaps being more overrated than the original Halloween, H20 has a boring opening, a total overdose of 90s tropes and an everchanging mask design. Michael Myers comes across as weak and stupid in this Halloween outing, rather easily being defeated by Laurie Strode. Laurie herself is kind of just meh with nothing really interesting about her but her rather severe PTSD she picked up. Michael Myers death in this one is very overrated, audiences should not have been tricked by his decapitation in this film. Overall this entry, while probably not the worst entry in the Halloween franchise, fails to deliver. Edit: My review of this earlier this year was unfair. It is alright and it did save the franchise from what would have been a terrible Halloween 7. Rating upped to 6 from 4.
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
The best of all Spiderman films
Spiderman 3 has great fight scenes, brilliant music and a satisfying finale to the original Spiderman trilogy.
Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
Underrated Nostalgia Fest
While it is for sure dated and very corny, Halloween: Resurrection is an alright film with decent laughs, decent scares and entertaining kills. Michael Myers mask and the theme music are both good updates on the original. The plot, while undeniably generic for the time, is still interesting. It is not the best film in the franchise, but it is probably my favourite because of its nostalgia and humour. The film will hopefully receive more positive reviews in future.
Halloween (1978)
Good film but overrated
Halloween (1978) is a film that I think lurks around the middle of good and great but is undeniably criminally overrated.
