Something Was Wrong (2018)
Some human being are shockingly hurtful
This podcast shares stories of real victims speaking up about the abuse, trauma, lies and hurt they've been through because of a mentally ill person who scared them and got into they life somehow either as friend or love interest, or even worse a family member that they grew up with.. I honestly love the podcast and the vision that Tiffany has for it the way she edits and organizes the story, the interesting questions she asks as well as the insightful information she gives at the beginning of the episodes and I also love the contribution of experts such as therapists or psychiatrists, I discovered many things about some people in my life and understood why they did what they did thanks to this podcast.
Farha (2021)
Beautifully heartbreaking
Thank you Darin for this masterpiece. The story is tragic but it's told so delicately and gracefully, it is harsh and brutal at times, it tightens your heart and tears up your eyes, but I enjoyed every bit of it even though some of them felt somewhat suffocating. The details that went into the production of the movie are immaculately wonderful: the decor, the clothing and cinematography were perfect so was the acting and the cast. The story itself is engaging you truly root for the girl as she tries to convince her father to enroll her for school, and you feel her pain as you watch her suffering and mourning. We need more movies like this based on true palestinian stories.
Clickbait (2021)
Brilliant show with an *intresting ending*
Yes I know I gave it 10 stars but the ending was a bit weird to me at first but you know what they managed to make it work. Come on "Go ahead. Do it. I don't care." Of course it's an old white lady, a typical owl line.
I think the show as a whole is great, the stories, the plots and how they aligned. Everything was exquisite and meticulously done. I love how they followed a character in each episode to give their pov and perspective not so many shows do that, and it's vital to learn and understand the story from different people and angles. I think the show as a whole is a success and I would love to see a PIA & ROSHAN SEQUEL they can't just neglect that part of the story *yes I'm a hopeless romantic*
Café Society (2016)
No plot just vibes
That's the litteral essence of this movie.. It is such a comfort movie about old hollywood. THE CLASS & THE SASS you just get a taste of these people lives, the aura is captivating and cozy. You get to see a beautiful romance with a little drama involved. I absolutely love the art, the architecture and the outfits. Who doesn't want to see Kristen StewART, Blake LIVEly, Jesse Eisenberg and Steve Carell in a classy setting in Hollywood and New york city in the 1930s it's just charming, comforting and beautiful to watch.
You shouldn't really raise your expectations as I said issa vibe no plot twists whatsoever, not much going on.. just a beautiful atmosphere that's all.
Scener ur ett äktenskap (1973)
A deep dive into married life
Watching this made me feel uncomfortable at times and frustrated at others, it's filled with raw emotions, frank conversations and thought triggeting questions.. This is obviously not how all marriages go down but it's a story from which we could learn a few things one of which is that people are complicated we don't know what we want, we fear uncertainty but it is all we feel most of the time.
Growing up in a society that has built this trajectory for you to follow, you just continue to do so until you reach a point in your life where you start questioning all your life decisions since they didn't really come from you, it was designed by your family or community. By the time you start reflecting on your life and the choices you've made you might feel that it's too late to change it since you're already settled, married and you have kids as well. When in fact you can find a way to get the life you want and break free from the prison you've been locked up in all these years. It's easier said than done but it's always an option.
The Photograph (2020)
THE Romantic movie you're looking for
I'm not really into romantic movies so if you don't like cheesy romantic movies or silly romcoms but you still want your dose of love stories I think you're going to love this one, it's pretty chill the story is captivating the characters are absolutely lovable the vibes are there and ofc the music is good, it's a lovely light-hearted movie that is now very close to my heart.
