Glitch (2015)
Brilliant concept! Failed ending.
Seasons one and two were brilliant. The whole concept of the series was incredible. It could have (and probably should have) concluded at the end of the second season. Great plot, great character development and some amazing plot twists along the way.
Season three was littered with unnecessary story lines that made the plot drag, as if to fill enough time to get to the finish line. The dialog in season three seemed to mimic the combination of a poorly written soap opera script and a Walking Dead remake.
They almost seemed shocked they got season three approved and scrambled for a storyline.
All in all, it was very enjoyable.
Don't Worry Darling (2022)
Did they run out of film for the ending?
There are so many parts of this movie that could have been expanded upon. Bunny's (Olivia Wilde) almost subliminal comment about losing her children in real life. That should have at least been a flashback. Margaret's suicide (attempt) kinda disappeared and we could only guess what might have happened.
The ending (or lack of an ending) seemed like a lazy way to wrap up the movie. Maybe they were all running late for something. Who knows? Alice finally takes off and heads towards Headquarters. Her car predictably stops, she makes it to the top, puts her hands on the glass and then a gasp and then.....the end? WTF??? This should have been a mini-series. Or at least set it up for a sequel where Alice goes back for the others.
A Christmas Karen (2022)
Funny!!!!!
I watched this with zero expectations. It was hilarious! I didn't read any reviews until after I watched it. The only reasons anyone would give it a terrible review would be because they are, themselves, a Karen. The cast was filled with new actors. They did amazing. It was nice to not have to think beyond a Hollywood star to get to the character.
There were many current cultural references which made it relevant. They could have overdone the whole Karen thing but they did a great job balancing the humor with the original story line of the almost 200 year classic story. Who knows if it will become a "must watch" Christmas movie down the road but it sure works for now.
