Fast X (2023)

What on earth is people moaning about??
23 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Before I watched this movie on the cinema, I read some bad user reviews on this IMDB site, telling that this movie is somehow not worth to watch. So, I low my expectations when I go watching it... but hey, it turns out that it is not bad at all! What are you guys complaining about??

I suppose that this movie would pay more attention to the action scenes. Well, they deliver it very well. You just cant force them to obey the law of physics tho. LOL. There are so many scenes that defy the physics law and theory, such as a car that can drag down two helicopters (wtf), a car that can push a crane from one jump so it will swing for like 180 degrees (wtf), a giant fire-ball that keeps rolling no matter what things it hits along the way (wtf), two persons (one of them is a kid) that survive after jumping off from extremely high water dam (even the tires doesn't burn out when theres fire on it)... and many more. Actually, that's the beauty of the movie. Lol. The director wants to go all out with all these physics nonsense, and our only duty is to shut down our intelligence for a moment and just enjoy the movie.

I also love when there are so many characters recalls, like Shaw (Jason Statham), Han (Sung Kang), Giselle (Gal Gadot), Cipher (Charlize Theron), Mia (Jordana Brewster), and Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson). There are also some flash back scenes to remember us of what is the connection between the story line. That's a cool thing to see in this movie, so I can grab what is going on in the story. I think that they want to prepare for the next 2 movies which wrap up the trilogy of Fast franchise ending.

About Jason Momoa... he totally kills it and carry this movie. He is the main reason that I give the score 8, without him it would be 5 or sumthin.

Shazam: Fury of Me
23 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Although I'm a fan of DC, I have to admit that this was the first time I actually dozed off during a movie. I purchased it on YouTube Movies, but I can confidently say that it ranks among the worst investments I've ever made. I attempted to watch it until the halfway mark, but from that point on, I found myself repeatedly skipping scenes because I could barely tolerate the film.

1. The movie begins with the introduction of two esteemed actresses, Helen Mirren (portraying the villain Hespera) and Lucy Liu (playing the role of the villain Kalypso). To my surprise, their performances in this film are incredibly lackluster. It's perplexing to witness such accomplished actresses deliver such subpar acting. It's truly disappointing to have talents like Mirren and Liu and still witness their underwhelming performances in this movie.

2. The main character development, Shazam/Billy Batson, is also bad. He should have one character because, well, he is one person. Duh. But instead, you will get like really two different persons with different personality. Also the character of Shazam is kinda off this time, he is like trying too much to be funny.

3. The Shazam family is too lame and doesn't feel connected each other. I suppose that they have spent many time fighting crimes together since the first movie, but seriously in this movie they show no chemistry between one another. There is one scene where Shazam wants to do after-meeting in Rock of Eternity, but everyone just go away for nonsense reasons.

4. The fighting scenes were also really bad, there were so many scenes that could have been more exciting. One example is when Kalypso had already planted the seed in the stadium and monsters appeared everywhere, but Shazam just stood silently on the roof, waiting for the cringe-worthy moment of "I can't do anything." Dude, you CAN fight them. Why do you just stand there? At least try your best to fight them and only then you can shout out that you can't do anything. The dragon is also super weird. This is the first time I see a dragon which doesn't spit fire; instead it produces some weird-ass blue wave that sucks your life force into it.

5. I also confuse with the villain's agenda; they want to get the magic staff because the staff was stolen from their father, and then suddenly one of them want to rule the world because she hates human? Wtf?

6. Regarding Wonder Woman's appearance, initially, it did bring me some joy as I was feeling bored during the movie. However, regrettably, her presence doesn't contribute any significant spark or value to the movie's storyline. The dialogue between her and Shazam is lackluster, and the moments when she enters and exits the scene are really dull. She just casually walks in and out... like a normal human being. Come on, she is a GODDESS, show some respect. Make her entrance more majestic.

7. There are only two things that I like from this movie: the power of Anthea and the appearance of the unicorn. The power of Anthea, Power of axis, is a power to control axis of reality and materials. Somehow I feel that that kind of power is really cool and really powerful and it's kinda rare to see such superpower in a movie. As for the unicorn, I am happy that the unicorn looks so badass with the black skin and terrifying appearance, not white and cute like in any other movies.

8. The first credit scene is kinda showing us that there will be a Justice Society movie (not Justice League, they're different). I hope that they learn A LOT from this movie on how NOT to make a superhero movie.

Not good, but not that bad either
20 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know what kind of weed people who give 10 score smoke. They are so bias as hell, I wonder if they are just hardcore fans of Pevita Pearce.

Negative
  • Numb dialogues. The script for dialogue is poorly written. It is like literally the just repeat everything what is written in the script, without adding some nuances to it.

  • The tempo is too fast, and that leads to poor character development. Suddenly we have an easily-angered-girl Alana, or Kala coming out of nowhere.

  • The story line is very easy to be guessed. You can sniff that out who is the main antagonist by first one third part of the movie.

  • The jokes in this movie are so corny.

Positive + Act of Reza Rahadian and Surya Saputra save this movie from its undoing. Their act is just amazing.

+ Some CGI effects are crazily well done. Especially the power transfer from Asih to Alana and the CGI effects on the main antagonist with smokey stuffs. And also I love the details when our hero fights the main antagonist, you can feel that they are the two most powerful characters at the moment.

Overall, it is an okay movie so you can't expect too much from this movie. I hope Godam movie will be much better than this one.

Morbius (2022)
6/10
Suprisingly I enjoy the movie LOL
17 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Minus : 1. The script is totally screwed up. After so many good and bad Marvel movies, it seems that the scriptwriter hasn't learned a thing. The story line jumps and bumps from one point to another fast enough.

2. The number of characters in this movie are not that much, but somehow the development of the characters is that bad.

3. The story line is pretty basic : a person who turns into monster, and has to fight the villain who gets the benefit from his own formula, so I pretty much can guess how the movie would end.

4. In the credit scene, it is very unclear why Morbius hates spiderman and decides to join with Vulture. They don't explain that throughout the movie.

Plus : 1. The choreograph is fantastic, I love the fighting scenes in this movie.

2. The CGI effects are also incredible, I enjoy it so much : the echo location, the effect when Morbius and Milo moves, the physical changing when they turn into vampiric monsters, etc

3. Matt Smith (Milo) acting is really good.

Overall, it is an Okay movie, with bad script but good choreo & CGI. Still an enjoyable movie for me to watch on weekends or holidays, but maybe for hard fans of Marvel who consider character development is a huge important part of the movies, this movie is a big minus.

Absolutely Amazing to Watch
27 June 2021
I haven't read the books, but watching the movie makes me wanting to see the books as well.

The movie itself is reaallyy great almost in every aspects, such as cinematography, story line (even though it's just 2 episodes yet but I can tell that the story is promising), acts, and even its music background.

I want to shout out to its cinematography which has been really outstanding, you can tell that the ones who is responsible for this is a serious pro. I have learnt so much about cinematography techniques even from its 2 early episodes.

This series is really recommended for you who want to enjoy your weekend and please your eyes. I can't wait to watch the other episodes.
