Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai (2023)
A cliche court drama about a criminal godman
A man who fought and won against some of the most prominent advocates of India is sure to be an inspiring personality and the film portrayed him well especially the last monologue of PC Solanki although the dubbing was a major issue throughout the movie. This film is not among those on which I would've written a long ass paragraph to describe. It's important for an art to critique social injustice and irrationality, that's what I have to praise it for the most. I have a strong opinion on these godmen and that's why decided to drop a review.
Wouldn't be surprised if in future, a film is made on Dhirendra Shastri, Aniruddhacharya or even Ram Rahim who can most likely make a biopic himself in those regular holidays he receives from the jail.
Hagane no renkinjutsushi (2017)
An insult to the original masterpiece
Fullmetal Alchemist is my religion and this movie is blasphemous.
Why is it that all the live action always mess up the ethnicity of characters ? Japanese characters with blonde hairs are unbearable to look at.
There is no plot in it having a pointless action sequence at the begining of the movie that introduces those cringy cosplaying characters.
My life has been good lately and I wanted to torture myself so I decided to watch live action adaptation of Avatar : The Last Airbender & Fullmetal Alchemist and to be honest I haven't completely watched either of them otherwise I would've gotten a nausea.
Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue (2023)
Akshay, please be serious about your craft
Pathetic VFX and pathetic direction ... Almost felt like I was watching an old 70s-80s bollywood movie.
Akshay Kumar probably shot this film in his room cuz normal conversations were also done with special effects and like any of his movies, he didn't even care about this one as well.
While watching this film, the interview of Shahid Kapoor where he was saying " Main moochh chipka ke acting nahi karta (I don't act with a fake beard on my face) " was continuously running in my mind and AK has done it thrice after Kesari and Samrat Prithviraj
I watched it only because I heard appreciation from some youtube reviewers, but I guess I shouldn't have trusted them in the first place.
Koe no katachi (2016)
A Masterpiece in animation, nothing comes even remotely close to this
One of those films that changed me as a person
I first watched it when I was in my high school and wasn't aware how it felt like "to grow up", even then I loved it but now when I'm an undergrad student and not many people are there whom I can call friends, this film hit me really hard. I related to Ishida, not for his change from being a bully to redeeming himself but for overcoming guilt from the past and value of having good people around.
Cinematography, Animation, Music, Writing ... everything was pitch perfect. Character development was real and Ishida's growth as a person felt like a personal victory. Easily among my top films of all time.
