Eternally Confused and Eager for Love (2022)
Started well, developed badly.
It began well, the first few episodes had genuine laugh out loud moment and the characters showed promise. Unfortunately, the characters became predictable and the lead character with his incessant bumbling, unable to make decent decisions became annoying very quickly. It's a shame because the premise seemed good but the execution was poor and by the end of it I just wanted to forward though the episodes to at least finish it but I wasn't exactly invested in it by this point!
Long Story Short (2021)
Too long, need to time travel the film and skip it!
Dreadful, really dragged for a story that skipped a year every few minutes! It sounded interesting but even at 90 minutes it was too long, not engaging, I wasn't interested in the characters or their development and by the end I didn't care about the conclusion.
Intouchables (2011)
Absolutely Fantastic!
Almost impossible to say how much I loved this film! I didn't know what to expect, I watched the trailer and thought it looked decent let's try it! It's extraordinary, full of love, compassion and humanity. It's very funny but also gives the viewer plenty to think about. I couldn't stop watching it. It's a rare gift of a film that can keep you captivated for the duration of it.
Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives. (2022)
It did not need four episodes!
This genre has been done many times before on Netflix (or at least feels like it has!) Whilst it's sad this happened, overall I felt for the restaurant's employees. It's not to victim blame but whatever the story, it did not need four episodes! I watched it all but I did keep falling asleep, which I think says a lot!
Back to Life: Episode 1 (2021)
Restores your faith in storytelling!
Loved this! A fantastic second series, the character development, storytelling and continuation of where we left everyone in series one, gave so much depth and made me root for the characters. Please make series three! Thank you for such a fantastic show :)
This Way Up (2019)
Sharp humour and honesty for a difficult subject
I didn't think this show would be for me, as I'm not normally a fan of the main actors. That said, I was proved completely wrong. It takes you through a huge range of emotions. It's brave with the subject matter and at times painfully honest but it's also hilariously funny with its sharp humour. It has a brilliant way to show you a huge amount of perspectives from all different characters and how they connect to each other, whether they want to or not. It is brilliantly written and well worth your time.
Phil Wang: Philly Philly Wang Wang (2021)
Too repetitive
Usually absolutely love Phil Wang but this was terrible. Introducing the jokes and getting to the punchlines was so repetitive. Couldn't watch it all for that reason. Sad to say as Phil was great in Taskmaster and is great in panel comedy shows.
Me Before You (2016)
Beautiful
Gorgeous film, full of love and warmth. It's emotional and sad at times but it's beautifully made and worth a watch.
Wild Mountain Thyme (2020)
Charming
Based on the IMBd rating for this film, I wasn't expecting much! It's charming, funny, has a great script, feel good film. It's delightful and well worth your time!
Ted Lasso: Goodbye Earl (2021)
Disappointing start
Loved Season 1 from start to finish, couldn't praise it high enough! Hilarious, fantastic lines, brilliant delivery, wonderful friendships all round great! Couldn't wait to watch Season 2 and it just wasn't the same. The lines are more predictable, the newer characters are difficult to like (I know its only episode 1!) it just doesn't have the same warmth, humour and unique qualities that made it unmissable. Will watch the next episode and just hope it goes back to what I loved about it in the first place.
