The Gentlemen (2024)
As Great As Could Be to the Movie
Let's be honest...the movie was amazing! And Theo (who I never thought was a great actor) had to compete with stellar lead role of Matthew McCounaghay (however his name is spelled). Being so I didn't expect much. Once I found out Guy Ritchie was still involved I got excited. Once I found out it wasn't an extension or reimagined version of the movie I was a little more excited. However I was still nervous because of the lead character.
Theo style was debonair & classic with a hint of gangster. Only negative Stanley Johnston still felt like the bad guy in Mandalorian. Story was brilliant. All of the loose ends, tie downs and the actual punchlines in the script was masterfully done. Amazing work!
Fast X (2023)
Worst Acting and Storyline Ever
First, Jason Mamoa has one of the worst character acting I have ever seen and I don't know if it's his fault, the writers fault or both. I guess they were doing their best job to make a non binary villain maybe cause he was flamboyantly gay one minute incredibly masculine the next minute it was as if his character had multiple personalities or something. They said in the film he was mental so you might be thinking his character was meant to be like the Joker or something but again...EPIC FAIL. So much so numbers might be impacted for Aquaman 2....it was that bad!
While the rest of the Fast characters wasn't better. Ludacris and Tyrese having these childlike fights. Pete Davidson was corny.
Vin Diesel primarily grunts the whole time. Nothing about this movie was good except maybe Statham being Jason Statham.
Look Fast has made its reputation now about stunts I mean they went to space in one of the last ones 🤡 but at least there was something to keep you grounded to the movie.
The acting was so terrible by so many I couldn't even watch without thinking what a joke it is. The Marine actor (wrestler) can't think of his name could of simply jumped out the car but chose to be a martyr instead.
The movie by far one of the worst catastrophes ever. I guess they want to give Marvel a run for it's money since End Game. Why can't people just quit when it's time to quit.
OMG.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Better than the first
This movie was so great! I'll admit it was a little long but it's been 10+ years since the last one so I was cool with it. However it didn't drag on or seem boring everything was an add on and felt like brought character to the story. They did a great job connecting majority of the dots from the last one. I think you'll love it if you were a fan of the first one. There's more action. The story is similar to that of the first with a slight twist. There were only two things in the movie that I thought didn't make sense however it wasn't big enough points to damage the movie overall. I am in awe how great this sequel is.
Andor (2022)
Boring AF
I'm on the fifth episode and I keep hoping it will pickup into something remotely entertaining or action packed just to be let down again and again. There are a lot of negative reviews saying this is not Star Wars and they're right it's not! I'm ok with the lack of monsters and weird characters as Andor is a spin off from the Rogue One characters but I'm not ok with this great cinematography drama that's full of weak scripting and no action. It's like this build up to a climatic battle that just never really happens. I can't imagine it has that many episodes left in the first season and rash episode is the same thing. The rebellion lack of trust in Andor and the Imperial snoozefest of nothingness. This is the most boring post Star Wars production yet. And here I thought Boba Fett was bad. BF was phenomenal compared to this.
End of the Road (2022)
Started Good Ended Terribly Hilarious
Ok so the beginning of the movie and the storyline I thought was really good. Everything flowed well up until the money being stolen by the white meth-redneck gang lol. Was downhill from there.
Although it didn't see it coming that Mr Cross was the deputy and that was a nice spin I'm trying to figure out:
-Queen Latifah could fight an entire meth mob
-Just so happened to find a crack pope and able to free her tied hands
-How come they cannot beat up and or kill these senior citizens though.
- Why was the lighting everywhere purple
-Where'd she get the flare
-Luda got a bandaid that didn't cover the whole wound and he was healed.
-They we're laughing and joking with zero trauma.
I liked it until that scene.
Uncharted (2022)
Just Make A New Creation
I don't understand these producers who choose to take a video game that already has great storyline, already has character development, and has already done the heavy lifting.
I think this movie would've been a lot better if it had its own name because it was good little action flick however it was not uncharted.
I knew it wasn't going to be like the game when I found out that Tom Holland was going to play Nathan Drake. I'm not sure why they didn't cast Mark Wahlberg is Nathan drake it would've been more fitting.
As I'm sure you already know by now the movie is nothing like the game. I didn't give a five star rating because of that I thought the script was cheesy.
There's a few loopholes in the movie which is why I gave it this rating. The only thing that is like the game is the clothing.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
The Best Scenes are In The Trailers + Makes No Sense
The movie has some great action scenes and that's about all it had as to why I got a four.
The story made no sense. They were trying to be comical and the punchline to didn't land. Everything in the movie was extremely random.
Claire just happened to run into the pilot randomly who saw the kidnapping.
The original scientist behind the dinosaurs was randomly experimenting on giant locusts which never tied back into the storyline.
The girl was a clone from a Jurassic park character that never existed. And they never explain what the purpose of her clone or dna is/was.
The little clone girl was randomly with Owen and Claire as a daughter.
The dinosaurs somehow got off the island as a hole and spreads throughout the entire world.
The movie is a bunch of random nothingness. The action scenes were good but spare yourself the 2.5 hours and money to watch it.
Watch the trailer and you will watch the movie.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Excellent- Action, Emotion, Story
If I'm being 100% honest I would say that the previews didn't do the movie real justice. I knew they were bringing some of the old characters back and I knew that the other Spider-Man were also in the movie however I didn't have high expectations. This movie brought me to tears, made me laugh, it was an action packed thrill ride almost all the way through. Well done! Well done.
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
Phenomenal Top to Bottom
The animation is amazing. The story is pure platinum. The character development is flawless. Even the music score is beyond. I'm blown away by this animation. Reminds me of Batman animation + Aeon Flux + Overwatch + Star Wars. I'd give this a 20 out if 10 if I could. Excited for season 2.
Halo (2022)
Good Drama Poor Action Film
Halo isn't as bad as people make it seem. I think they're rating is skewed because they expected it to be just like the game which I'm sure by now you've found that out.
The only thing that is like the game is:
Cortana
The weapons
The vehicles
Aside from that this is a totally new creation with all new characters. Even Master Chief is invariably different.
The problem with this show is it doesn't have enough action. I think if there was more action that mirrored the game it would of saved the 1st season but it's too much drama and not enough fighting.
The graphics and CGI is cool. The storyline is alright. The action scenes they do have are good, just not enough of them.
I'm a fan of the game and the season has a long way to go to match that of the game.
The Batman (2022)
Boring with a capital B
If you're looking for action this isn't it. It's like a crime thriller and Batman doesn't have all of his gadgets and cool gear. The cinematography is amazing but the acting and storyline just drags on. It's boring from beginning to end.
Jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy (2022)
Awe Inspiring
To say Kanye is an enigma is an understatement however watching this man from the beginning is intriguing and inspiring.
Like most of us dreamers, everyone told this man what he can't do. It's awesome to see someone Will their dreams into reality, something we don't get to watch live from celebrities we enjoy.
After watching I believe we can see just how different he was after his mother passed. I loved the way she inspired her son and kept him grounded at the same time. I believe her passing was a major milestone in the life of Kanye because of how she really died. (Michael Jackson died of "plastic surgery" as well)
If you know anything about the things that happy behind the scenes in Hollywood or you listen to the hints that West drops on his interview on Joe Rogan podcast, you know that there's a lot that happens in the dark. So many people want to know how or why he became "crazy" and it's just easier to accept mental health as an issue but the facts are Kanye is ahead of his time and he shares as much as he can and still be safe. He's playing life at the heights of life getting temptations from enemies we can't see.
I didn't expect this documentary to answer those mysteries because it's hidden for a reason. I only hope and pray Kanye stays safe and protected. I hope people who watch this documentary can appreciate it for what it is...
The journey ...of another human dreamer.
The Last Kingdom (2015)
A Masterpiece
From beginning to end, a story with deep rich characters about a warrior of integrity and his loyalties. One of the most beautiful and ruthless stories I have ever seen. It drove me to tears at the end. Tears for this man's journey and sadness that this series is coming to an end.
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
Decent Not Good Far from Great
I don't think you follow the Mandalorian with this series. It had a few good episodes but that was about it. The grand finale was sub par and you wonder why they didn't hire the same team that did the Mandalorian. Story was all over the place. So many scenes felt and looked like Power Rangers. I give this series a 6.5/10. I hope Mandalorian Season 3 doesn't follow in its footsteps.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Just Like the Originals
I didn't think the plot of the story was great however it was going to be hard for them to top a classic. I thought it was a great action movie. They did a good job with the cast. And I thought the movie was overall good. Lot of people hated on it rated it a 4 but I think they were expecting it to be better than the others and it's like Star Wars, youre never going to outdo a classic. But like the Mandalorian you can make something special without competing.
The Gentlemen (2019)
Phenomenal!!!!!
I wasn't expecting this movie to be very good. However, this movie blew me away. If you enjoy superb acting, a great story, and the wit of a Quentin Tarantino movie you're going to love this! And seeing Matthew McConaughey play a gangsta is just sheer perfection.
