Excellent funny and witty movie .... so true!
29 December 2004
I have read the previous comments and of course, a movie rarely comes close to the book, due to time constraints and of course it always has to fight one's fantasy. But that's OK, if the movie is well made and this one is ...

And apart from that, I had shared house experiences in Brisbane for several years and everybody who had too can appreciate this movie, as it is so true ... and believe me, a lot of the subjects or experiences are quite close to the truth, as crazy as it may sound :-)

The Queenslander reminds me so much of my first shared house. I started of living in a 2 by 2 meter room and soon moved into a bigger room. It was great fun!

Watch it!

A beautiful film about native african animals presented in a nice personal story line
11 January 2002
I was starting to watch this film, shortly after it started and liking nature fils, kept looking. I was pleasantly surprised, as the film showed the african nature in a interesting, quite personal and often funny way.

Bill and Ginny are invited by a naturalist friend to take care of his home in Africa while he is away, and they find themselves adopted by three orphan elephants an end, don't want to leave this paradise any more. By living there, they get in contact with a lot of animals and they have to find a way to live with them, hence they need to understand them. Of course they have at first all sorts of funny ideas and prejudices, but slowly discover the real truth through all sorts of funny incidents. All this set before the picturesque landscape of kenya, this makes truly a film to watch for the whole family or everybody who wants to have an enjoyable saturday or sunday arvo. Oh, i forgot. The main character is poly-poly (or slowly-slowly), an adorable 5 year young elephant that follows the couple around like a dog. I really like this film! Enjoy.

A Must See! One magical movie about Dreams, Mercy and Forgiveness beautiful set in ancient Egypt!
28 October 2001
I saw this movie per accident this late night on channel 9 (28->29th Okt. 2001) and after reading the first comment in this IMDB sticked with it to watch and tape it. Quite honestly, it was even better than I had imagined. A Jewel of a film, emitting such a passion and peace while painting a picture of ancient Egypt that might be very true.

By telling the story of Joseph, believing only in one God, sold by his Brothers as a Slave in fear, because he told them he dreamt of himself becoming as powerful as the pharao, and watching his journey through time and dreams on his way to fulfill his faith, one is deeply touched, as are the lives of those he touches by being him and living his peaceful heart and soul!

Don't miss this movie, you'll love it! (if it is your kind of movie)

Odd, very odd ... a classical B-Movie. But I like the song!
26 October 2001
Voyage of the Rock Aliens is perhaps the goofiest of Pia's movie ventures. It features the arrival of some extraterrestrials who look an awful lot like a 1980's pop music group. Pia is the rockin' teenaged diva who becomes the center of conflict between the aliens and the town's local band of rock and roll rebels.

Tacked on to the beginning of the movie in a rather strange framing sequence is the video for the song "When the Rain Begins to Fall," a duet between Pia and Jermaine Jackson. Jackson doesn't appear in any of the rest of the movie.
