The Vision of Escaflowne (1996)

My FAVORITE anime!

I haven't really watch a whole bunch of animes, just the ones they showed on Toonami and Cartoon Network, really. So when Escaflowne came onto Fox when I was 13 or so, I fell in love with it. I loved how their noses were so long, and how the plot line developed, and how we really got entangled in Hitomi's life. The ending was bittersweet, but I can't imagine it being any other way.

Other anime fans that I've shown this to don't seem to share my deep appreciation of it, but then again, this anime delves deeper into emotions than other animes, and isn't just surface based--It dives deeper, and doesn't deal so much with action as other animes.

Jesus Christ Superstar (1973)

One of my favorite musicals.

With the sticks-in-your-head-all-day music that Andrew Lloyd Webber gives us in this film, what's not to like? Come on! The white-haired afros, and Simon dancing all over the place, this movie just rocked my socks. I loved it as a kid (and I'm only 20), and I love it as an adult. I enjoyed how Judas was played by a black man--It helped with prejudices when this movie was released. And it amuses me now, how they featured the roman guards with purple shirts like that. And Herod! How funny!!!

Anyways, I found the film to be very hippy-ish, but filled with good music, and fast-paced action. Go Jesus!

Peter Pan (2003)

Just....Wonderful.

I've read a few comments already, and everything I could've ever said has been said already (and with much better word choice than anything I could have ever written). When I was a little girl, I'd read this book (and I was only 9 or 10), and I'd just have amazing pictures in my head of all the adventures Wendy and Peter would have. Real ADVENTURES. This movie...Was just breathtaking. I saw it at the movie theatre when I was 18, and I cried because it was like seeing the pictures in my head unfold and it was so....Beautiful. Honestly, the color and music (oh the MUSIC!!!) was simply fantastic. I'm now a music major in college, and have a deeper appreciation for music, and what James Newton did with this soundtrack was out of this world. Literally.

Ronin Warriors (1988–1995)

Classic and entertaining!

I used to watch this show as a child, and I loved it! I watched it when it came on Toonami YEARS ago....Sheesh, I sound so old! I must've been 13 or 14 when it came on...But anyways, it had a great plot line, and I'm one of those girlie-girls who watched (and ADORED) Sailormoon, and I enjoyed it very much. The animation wasn't the best....Quite amusing in some parts, actually, and the voice acting was EXTREMELY lame in the beginning, but it was all a good watch, and I found myself sucked into it day after day.

Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors is a classic, and an all-time one of my faves. Go Ryo!!!!

The Princess and the Goblin (1991)

Wonderful and charming!

I loved this movie when I was a child. It was just so fantastical and lovely, and the main song just sticks in your head for days upon days. When I watched this movie recently (as in 10 years later), I saw how fine the animation was designed to be, and how well it was done in some areas. It's old, and the animation dosen't really compare to the computer graphics we have today, but it's CLASSIC. And although someof the actions are exaggerated in the movie, it's like opening my Hans Christian Anderson book, and seeing stories come to life.

So if you're a lover of fairy tales, or enjoy telling stories, this movie was MADE for you.
