Rottweiler (2004)
Worst Killer Dog Movie I've Watched
This film is a combination of "Cujo" & "Terminator," but failed miserably. One may think that's a good idea, since both those movies can be scary. As a kid, "Cujo" was nightmare inducing. Newsflash, this movie is not scary at all. The dog looks incredibly fake & stupid. It's a poorly rendered CGI monstrosity with metal teeth. There's gore to the movie, but it's just senseless like a "Friday the 13th" movie. Blood doesn't make something scary. When I read the "Cujo" novel, the excessive gore worked since it amplified the vicious dog attacks. The point of the killer dog was to track down & kill an escaped prisoner in dystopia Spain in the future year of 2018. This makes the dog even less scary. Even though the dog was instructed to only kill the prisoner, it kills random people as well. That's a plot hole all right. Once the dog loses its flesh & becomes a bare robot, it even looks more repulsive. The metal robot in the first "Terminator" was actually pretty disturbing looking, and had a deranged walk to it. The acting overall in "Rottweiler" is poor. There's also a forced rape scene in this. This movie is just not good. If someone wants to watch a movie on a killer dog, watch "Cujo." That movie has true horror in it. That movie actually has a scary dog. Even "Man's Best Friend" is a far better movie in this. Even though that movie is not scary either, the acting & sci-if elements are vastly superior to this.
Tucker Carlson Tonight (2016)
Life Line of Fox News
If you want a free-thinking conservative commentator, watch Tucker Carlson. He does not play for a team like Sean Hannity & Laura Ingraham. He does not do Trump worship. This guy explains a variety of national & world events. He allows people from all points of views to be guests on his show. He helped spread the truth on the 2020 riots & Kyle Rittenhouse. His foreign policy leans towards non-interventionist. He also criticizes all the power of the USA's elites. The slander this guy faces is awful. Disliking Democrat policies & wanting border protection does not make someone a white nationalist. He is also not a Russian puppet. His show's coverage of Ukraine is vastly different than RT (where they call Vladimir Putin a hero). I also find his sarcasm and dry remarks to be funny. The Tucker face is funny as well.
Infowars Nightly News with Alex Jones (2011)
There's a War on for Your Mind
Alex Jones is hilarious. He takes insult comedy to a new level. He called Michelle Obama a man. He called Hillary Clinton a demon wearing a flesh mask. Along with that, his performances on screen are hilarious. He flails his arms, makes growling sounds, and screams at the top of his lungs. Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, Trevor Noah, & Jimmy Kimmel should take note on how to be funny instead of doing smug lectures disguised as comedy. Infowars skits involving him are funny as well. He did a parody of Stephen Colbert's lame Tuck Buckford. He dressed up as a gay frog & Illuminati lizard man.
For the last several years, it has turned that AJ's elaborate fear porn is becoming reality. He was right about a pandemic ten years prior, Jeffrey Epstein, atrazine destroying a frog's reproduction, spying on Donald Trump, COVID-19's origins, NSA spying, & the government persecuting political opponents using the Patriot Act. Back in 2001, he saw 9/11 coming as well. I wish that Alex Jones was wrong about everything, because his show is so dark. But, reality isn't good.
To note, viewer discretion is advised for Alex Jones. It's not appropriate for persons under 18.
South Park: Back to the Cold War (2022)
Nice Take on Russia-Ukraine Crisis
The episodes mocks the Cold War nostalgia that the Democrats embraced for the last five years. The episode satirize how Americans discriminate against ethnic Russians. The vulgarity of Butter's melancholy horse is hilarious. I loved how the episode portrayed Putin as being shirtless to prove his masculinity, and the revelation that his penis doesn't work so well anymore. I wonder if Putin will ban South Park now, like the clinically insane Winnie the Pooh of the Orient. "South Park" knows how to portray both sides as ridiculous during controversies and this episode did this as well.
The Angry Video Game Nerd: The LJN Library (2021)
Not a Good Episode like I Tried Telling Myself
Here is the Nerd reviewing all LJN games. This is his forte. It was basic with the Nerd reviewing video games, without too much overdrawn skits (unlike "Shrek" & "Las Vegas") Also, it was nice learning about the history and the entire library of LJN. This episode is split into three parts (1 - Movie Games, 2 - Sports & Marvel Games, & 3 - Wrestling & Miscellaneous Games). I did like the twist of how the Nerd now owns the LJN trademark. The Nerd gets one of his Screenwave assistants to develop a new Back to the Future game, and it turned out to be a disaster. I do have to say that it wasn't too drawn out, and that did help make this episode better than the others from the same season. I know a lot of people hated this episode, but Episode 100 (ROB) was disliked when it came out as well. I myself don't mind clip shows. I myself enjoyed it when "The Simpsons" and "Malcolm in the Middle" did it.
(DISCLAIMER: This was the original review in December 2021. The next part is my added portion as of February 15th, 2022)
Everything said, I haven't went back to rewatch this three parter again. That's because I did not enjoy it much in retrospect. I liked the premise of the AVGN doing an LJN marathon. Clip shows are good when done right. The setup of it was good. It did remind me of an old episode. I was unhappy about the 2021 season of AVGN. The overdrawn skit episodes were terrible. Those Screenwave actors feel like props, and not engaging characters. I started enjoying the season when James went back to the basics & reviewed the Commodore 64. So, the LJN library was very exciting for me. My biggest problem with this special was that James seemed clearly burned out & lost his charm. I saw that he lost track of the game numbering farther into the special. I was disappointed with the execution. If James didn't clearly have the burnout, this episode would have been great. Even though this episode was better than the skit-heavy ones (such as "Shrek" & "Las Vegas") and the lazy rushed ones (such as "Pac-Man 2"), I wouldn't consider this episode to be one of James' finest, but not his worst either.
As a fan of the AVGN series, this is very difficult to come to terms with this. I think Irate Gamer is better than last year's season of AVGN. I'd take Wisseau-style acting of Chris Bores, every character being played by Chris Bores, & the ludicrously stupid storylines over watching a series that has completely lost its soul. For the future, James should cancel the AVGN series since it seems clear that his burnout is getting the best of him. On the other hand, James could follow the route of "SpongeBob SquarePants" and try reinventing the charm of the earlier seasons. He can focus more on the games he's reviewing themselves and get rid of all the pointless skits from these Screenwave assistants. I think rehiring Mike Matei & Kyle Justin can help with that since they knew the show during its golden years. I'm fine if Screenwave stays for filming and editing purposes, but these people shouldn't act and contribute heavily to the plot.
The Angry Video Game Nerd: Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures (Sega Genesis) (2021)
One of the Worst Episodes of AVGN
What a disappointment.
The nerd has a chance to make this episode good. He got to play a game that was not only very low-quality but also put a stain on a popular franchise. The nerd could have used his full-blown rage to shred the game's terrible point-and-click controls, terrible music, and preschool-designed graphics. Instead, he played it and got mildly annoyed and cut the developers slack. This review was half-@ssed for sure.
The Angry Video Game Nerd: Freddy & Jason (Commodore 64) (2021)
Nice Follow-Up to Previous Episode
The previous episode was the by-far the best episode for a lackluster season. The nerd was quite informative and played a variety of peculiar games for the Commodore 64.
This episode was a great follow-up to it. The two main games (Friday the 13th & Nightmare on Elm Street) we're entertaining to watch. They kept the bizarre factor from the games in the previous episode. The nerd also played other horror games as well. Freddy and Jason make an reappearance as well.
This series has been a mess this season, but I guess playing Commodore games redeemed it. The nerd has a history of making good episodes playing games from Commodore. Watch the a modern nerd episode back from 2018 where plays the Amiga CD32. That's a great episode as well.
The Angry Video Game Nerd: Commodore 64 (2021)
Good Episode after an Underwhelming Year
2021 has not been the best year for AVGN. Between the overwhelming lackluster skits for Shrek and the Las Vegas episode & the rushed episodes such as Pacman 2 - The New Adventures, I wasn't very impressed with this year. Before this episode, I guess the Panasonic 3DO ones were the best, but not nearly as entertaining as the Amiga CD32 reviews.
I got to say, the nerd playing on his Commodore 64 brought back the charm. He was quite informative on the console itself and he played a huge variety of games. It is best when the nerd plays bizarre video games. Fortunately, the C64 has a ton of them.
