Dream Big (A Golden Time in the Golden State) (2022)
Already a classic movie.
I can highly recommend this movie. I was born in grey old England in 1971. The California lifestyle and ensuing muscle beach life seemed truly idyllic to me. This movie had me smiling from ear to ear, while being forever jealous I could not live it. Also, as a bodybuilder of 35 years now, you realise what a unique era this really was for that lifestyle. All the important folk are interviewed at length and along with some excellent film footage and endless stills, you will be wishing you were born mid-1950s and with the free spirit these people had back then. A time that will never return, and thus, should be celebrated. Dr D.
Rich Piana Chronicles (2018)
Awful in a sad way.
Clearly a troubled individual, promoting what ultimately is a short and empty lifestyle.
The film-makers tried to make him look cool and multi-talented where he clearly was not. No MMA skills, no shooting skills, clearly 'lets get him doing this' moments.
The duration of the film was largely repetitive and lacking little substance of any use to people looking for long-lasting genuine motivation. He seemed to have no real friends, just hanger-on's and people he was paying to be there with him.
I hope he made money from it, because it just seemed like more exploitation to me.
Rich seemed lost and at times uncomfortable. RIP.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
This is not Star Trek. Insulting.
Predictable storyline and badly acted roles.
Anyone who has watched Star Trek over the years, especially the Next Generation series, will be hugely disappointed with this poor offering.
I won't be watching any more episodes, such is the poor quality of this series.
The female roles dominate and are unrealistic in any era, but this is today's trend. Boring and not believable. Borg character is a total joke.
Same old BS lines about how we have ruined the world and how 'we' can change it if we are fluffy and lovely to each other.
Never fast-forwarded through any Star Trek episode in 30 years.
Each episode has gotten worse and it feels like a series for children
such is the simplicity of the lines and overall 'done a million times' story.
I did with this.
Bit of an insult to ST.
Copshop (2021)
Not very good at all.
In fact pooh. Just silly, ridiculous storyline.
Tiny woman gets the crap shot out of her, and she carries on like the terminator.
All parts not believable and the worst trained cops you've ever seem.
Avoid.
Mother/Android (2021)
Decent movie.
Well worth a watch.
Storyline is believable and parts are well acted.
A realistic ending adds to the credibility of it all too.
Give it a go.
Much worse scifi movies out there at the moment.
Zeros and Ones (2021)
Awful in many ways.
Astonishingly bad foreign pooh, which at least shows off the reality of the dump that is Rome.
You would struggle to have any idea of what the movie is about, if you haven't read the synopsis beforehand.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Antlers (2021)
Decent movie.
Not that bad really.
Decent storyline using a bit of local folklore to scare.
Worth a watch.
Good, depressing backdrop in the cop and his sister's story.
All ties in with the depressing area it is filmed in.
Candyman (2021)
Afraid not. Anti-white drivel.
Wanted to love it as the original was good scary fun.
Comical anti-white references made it tiresome, pointless and average.
Acting fine, lines too desperate.
Spend your time on something intended to be an actual horror film and not politically-driven drivel.
