Mr. Corman: Many Worlds (2021)
Season 1, Episode 7
9/10
Personally, best episode for me
2 December 2021
Loved it. And the acting of different Joshes was superb!!! And questions and ideas raised are so universal and close to home, us making choices which have repercussions of how our lives turn out. Some of us choose to follow our dreams/goals and stick with it, some of us play it safe and settle. And you'll never know what is the right way to do it, which dimensional world to inhabit ;). As for low ratings and comments with 1 star, clearly it's not you cup of tea, and waiting for the 7th episode to rate it shows that you should move on to something else ;).

Great series, worth watching, worth 2nd season
24 September 2021
Clearly these series are not worth 10 stars, but I just had to mark it so, in hopes to balance it out a bit.

Confused why is it rated so low...

Most of the actors are doing a great job at their performances, especially Diane Lane, Ben Schnetzer and of course Ashley Romans (she's amazing at pulling off a bad ass look).

There's also a mystery, that is staring us straight into our faces from the series title, that needs to be solved/answered.

And did I mention that I love apocalyptic movies? :).

Watch it, rate it as high as possible, and lets hope for second season.

All the haters should go munch on some other drama fodder.

Quality show that's worth you time
26 January 2019
Cancellation of such a beautiful TV series is sheer madness. How come the shows that do not come close to the par of this show get a chance for a second season (ex: Terror, Shooter, Lost in Space, etc)? A "professional" reviewer stated that it misled and did not fulfill his expectations. Is that the criteria of how art should be judged? With meeting expectations? It's not the beauty in the eye of the beholder, but quality, such as acting, story, character that should be judged; and in the society pumped with the over indulgence of TV shows, how come their taste isn't sufficiently refined to see that 'The First' is a keeper? It shows a more than likely unfolding of the near future, it ignites an adventure inside your conscious, gives a chance to participate in the greatest voyage that is to come; and all of it, from the safety of your sofa seat. Leading actors are amazing, Penn's physical preparation just blows the mind, and McElhone is close enough to SpaceX's leader as it gets. So cherish and enjoy the show that had so much to give, but was abruptly turned away.

Beautiful Show, unfortunatelly unappreciated
27 September 2018
It just shows that IMDB ratings do not show the full story. 6.5 ? In what universe does that even close to reality? Those who get stuck in irritation due to daughter-father relationship should not forget that there's more to this 7 hour long show: beautiful cinematography, great acting (and preparation and sweat put in by Sean Penn is mind-blowing), and the ideas that tackle the possibilities of near future, those are just few things that should not be overlooked by choosy, spoiled raters. It is a solid 8 from me. Rating it 10 to give a small chance of balancing it out...

Insulting to the intelligent viewer
5 September 2018
If you like the spy/terrorism/CIA genre, do yourself a favor and watch Condor or Berlin Wall instead. Jack Ryan is an insulting series to the intelligent viewer.

Great concept!!! Something refreshing!!! Loved it!!!
1 September 2016
Somebody, in previous review, mentioned that the plot was straight as an arrow, but I have to disagree with that. I had no idea what will happen in the end, and it had plenty of twists, especially in the second half of the movie. New characters were introduced and disposed off, but each one of them had a particular part to fulfill.

John Bradley was in his character, close to the one of his in Games of Thrones. Killian Scott, I thought, did a good job, especially at the end.

The whole concept is refreshing and interesting. And I would recommend to watch the movie. 8 out of 10. Enjoy.

Great show with fleshed out characters!!!
24 August 2016
Glad I watched it! Sharito Copley as Christian Walker is superb. At first I was skeptical, thinking, how the main protagonist can fight all these powers without having powers himself? But that's one of many underlying themes of this show, power does not come from lifting things in the air, flying or teleporting yourself, it comes from strength of the character and its moral fiber. And I am not talking about moral fiber were you have to follow the society rules blindly (Walker breaks many of those), but more about the inside feeling, conviction of what is right and wrong even if everybody else says otherwise. And that's what Walker stands for, the integrity of his beliefs. He walks the talk.

The other actors are on par with Sharito Copley. Noah Taylor who plays Johnny Royalle (what a great name!!!), reminds me a little of Deep Throat from X-files, with his constant chain smoking. But how fitting that is, with his power of teleportation, poof, and he's gone, like a smoke. Watching him, you can't shake the question, 'Is he a bad or a good guy?' This duality is played by almost every character in the show, but Johnny Royalle nails it perfectly.

Deena Pilgrim (played by Susan Heyward), like her name suggests, is taking a journey, more like a passenger than a driver, but such a wonderful counterbalance to Walker, holding him back just a little, so that his character won't seem to us crazy or overblown.

Well, I won't rattle on anymore, every character is fleshed out, the dialogue is not copy pasted or cliché like in other shows, and it's just a great and fun show to watch. Enjoy!
