Cani arrabbiati (1974)
prob. my fav. foreign film..
I love horror, so when i heard bava had a crime/thriller type flick, i HAD to check it out.. it easily turned into my favorite foreign film. i could not take my eyes of this movie! It had been on my 'to see' list for quite sometime, till one day when i was looking up horror trailers on youtube... i typed in rabid (david cronenberg flick) and i spotted Rabid Dogs a few clicks down.. i checked out the trailer and i was hooked.. the score is beyond great, it was stuck in my head for days! The setting is wonderful (hot summer Italian afternoon), the characters were very intriguing (the shot of 32 after they are speeding away from the police is breathtaking). Bava's great story and direction is flawless.. I much prefer 'rabid dogs' to 'kidnapped' though.. you be the judge! check out this near-perfect movie and you will see its influence over the media favorites of today.
My Man Adam (1985)
my fav movie
i lovvvve 80's flicks (even though i was 6 by the time the 80's were over).. so i'm in this video store thats about to go out of business, i'm on my normal routine of looking for 80's horror flicks (my true love), i came across this title. the cover looked amazing! those crazy "hi-tech" 80's. there's a line in the movie where the guy from next door calls the Swit family "degenerate techno scum"!!! gotta love that! i watch this movie every sat. morning!! the score, the setting, and all the characters involved are priceless!! I also love the way his parents yell at each other, "he's not my son!" "he's not my son either!" good story line (whats with that statue of liberty?) dave thomas kicks *beep* in this, and you'll see Chris Elliot in there too. "detention for everyone!" As my man Adam Swit would put it, "It's the quiche of the 80's"
