Devdas (2002)
Unforgettable Love Story
Devdas is the ultimate love story, which transcends everything ... even life itself.
It is the story of a man called Devdas, whose intense love for his childhood sweetheart Paro, came to destroy him. One hasty decision, and a realization which came too late, ruined any change they had of being together.
Not being able to live without Paro, as she now belonged to another, Devdas took to excessive drinking in order to forget her. Even though his life became a downward spiral, leading only to self-destruction, he was still not able to put her out of his mind.
The sheer intensity of his love consumed every part of him. His burning passion could be seen deep in his eyes. No one, not even a beautiful courtesan, could erase the memories embedded within him. In fact she makes him remember Paro all the more. Even sleep itself refuses to assist him in this burning quest. He asks, "when will this thirst be quenched?"
Merely existing, he promises Paro that he would visit her before he died. He makes good on his promise and sacrifices everything to see her one last time. His peace finally blankets him, in the form of eternal sleep.
His being a chaste and faithful lover to Paro, gives even greater depth to his undying devotion. Although tragic, Devdas will prove to be the ultimate love story for all time.
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001)
Get the tissues! This one is a real tear-jerker!
K3G is an intense, mature, and entertaining film. Shahrukh plays the role of a son(Rahul),who worships the ground his father walks on, and would do anything to avoid hurting him. The day comes, however, when he falls in love with an "ordinary" girl named Angali, and dashes his father's hopes and dreams for him to pieces. The intense emotion displayed as the two have a falling out, not soon to be reconciled, is heartbreaking. It splits the family apart and it will take everything a younger son (Rohan)has to try and reunite them.
Shahrukh shines (as usual), as the creative actor he is, in this wonderful family film.
If you haven't seen this film yet, you don't know what you're missing! But have a box of tissues at hand.

Feet of Flames (1998)
AWESOME
Michael Flatley was awesome in Feet of Flames. Not only was his dancing spectacular, but his flute playing was exquisite.
I liked this updated version of Lord of the Dance much better than the original.
