Remember (2015)
I Thought I'd Pass But Then I Realized My Hometown Is In This?
So I was flicking around Netflix and saw this title which intrigued me. Being that Chris is in I thought I'd hit Play. Immediately I was taken by the scenery which looked oddly familiar but I quickly offed that as being unlikely my area. The backstory became quickly engrossing and the details quickly captivated me to look further. Low and behold I recognized a film location as my hometown and I was floored! Sault Ontario, if you even heard of it is featured largely in the movie but it quickly became more of the PLOT that won me over! WOW what great story telling and edge of your seat also plus the cast in this is beyond what I was expecting! For anyone thinking of giving this a watch definitely click "PLAY".
I'm actually sorry now that I didn't go to the release of the movie and support this title!
Roadworthy Rescues (2022)
When This Comes On I Gather My Composure and Come Out a Better Man!
I'll leave this to a sentence or two because there's no need to re-describe what you will get out of this show so here goes! I'm likely the least to tune into an automotive show much let alone follow one! This one is like a good friend, like a TV show you watched in the 70's and 80's say where you didn't want to binge like you can today but awaited the moment till the next episode to see what's up in the build that is the episode and man do you get your viewing's worth! The guys/gals that are in the show are so welcomed in my life and leave you often with a nice warm touch at the end of each episode!
Should this series leave soon I know I'll be researching why! I suppose there's only so much you can do in a series of this type but I can't imagine why one would not want to just keep watching these types of shows where you get to see some beat up relics come to life and often in hilarious fashion! What a great ride!
Clarkson's Farm (2021)
9 Stars Because the series Ended!
First off a huge round of applause to EVERYONE (even the towns people) that became a part of this series! I know there's odd rumors of Jeremy being this or that however everyone has faults and goodness so leave your nose on your own potato and life will be good for you! Being a Canadian and living on a farm (working off the farm though) it was a blast to see this series with the highs and lows of life doing a farm from scratch. Please keep farming in the spotlight everyone cause it's a reality we're living to keep the population living!
In light again to the beautiful area this was filmed in and the recent news of the locals feeling squeezed by the added flock of onlookers and developers I suppose we should take heed in any future ideas of this nature. Yes it's agreeable that it was natural to create a buzz of fandom and curiousness from the public however who could have predicted the outcome where people would be swarming to move and settle in outlying areas! The results are noted in fact now but lets not forget about the reason this show was built which was to see the end result of what running an operation for a year could incur in cost and profit...the result is pittance and that's true for a very very large percentage in every country!
Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule (2010)
I'm sorry but folks this is 10 out of 10!
Oh John you totally had my head spinning, my guts so sore and I just can't stop clicking on the next video and the next I must STOP to keep these videos NEW! I definitely beg for more but I know this was your era! Anyways LOL the Cessna Airplane incident where you call your HOST an AIRHOG! OMG LOL lol lol....
Unhinged (2020)
Sorry All You "SnowFlakes" in Plastic Land if Mr. Crowes Masculine Appearance Doesn't Appeal To You! It Does to Us Though!
Alright, now down to the real "man" review! All the world knows that if you have a slight to your belly your done dog these days! Don't worry Russel and in fact don't even care. The percentage of the world is nuts anyways and that being said I'm happy they don't see what went on with you and this whole movie which is freakin' brilliant! It's main course is one that doesn't stop, that relentless pursuit and knowing it is likely not going to end well for some and it shouldn't. The despair and darkness was great.
Now onto the cast, it's a great ensemble that tied in perfectly to what the movie was intending to do and that's give me a mention of apology or see where I'll take ya! LOL.
My eye was keen on Russel himself through this as I couldn't not look into him and how he looks both in the real and on stage...don't for a minute (you plastic people out there) think that everyone is against having a body that portrays mass cause he wears that VERY well!
Keep doing what your doing Mr. Crowe...You have a fan base that is alive and kicking...you have to look past the charades and plasticity that is prevalent in our society, your appearance is both appealing and intimidating so beef up and wear it well!
Pretend It's a City (2021)
Are You Kidding With The Blah Review! Totally Worth A Trip With This Lady!
Flashbacks to some of the greatest times on EARTH...More Flashbacks to the Greatest Times on Earth...Sports Neutering (Laugh)!
A woman that self describes herself as "Do I Look Approachable" (Laugh).
C'mon knock the crust of yourselves you overindulged, self absorbed A-List types and lighten up a little just cause you didn't get the mini-series!
I WILL watch this a second rough for sure. I can't get enough about the little trip through the streets and eyes of someone living and growing with New York and her slips and falls along the way to be where she sits today. The references to the cultural effigies and their persuasion to progress as we also go along for the fashion trip!
I'm giving you Fran a big high five!
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
Thank You For NOT Being Immature In This Series! Thank YOU!
At a few times throughout this series I was on pins thinking please don't wreck this series with some immature plot about the spoils of drugs or drinking...we get it already and to many movies don't get it over and over. WE GET IT.
Well it didn't happen and more so the smooth silky sequences rolled on and each character, well put in fact flowed amazingly well!
Thank You for keeping this tone! I'm like others in that I have zero interest in Chess, zero. Everyone involved crafted such a successful story around chess that not only am I intrigued but want to keep this story as a base to more.
I'm going to fire up Episode One again thank you !
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005)
Hands Down These Freaks Definitely Will Live ON! Season Extension Just Announced YEA!
Still one of my favorites (there's way to many though) is the "Dennis and Sweet Dee Face The Bumble Bee!" LOL, 2 each in their either sociopath or narcissist ways completely make me grumble and laugh out loud. Then there's the others whom again you can't take with a grain of salt oh no no no.
It's just brilliant to spend the little time you get each episode and where do they get these ideas! OMG the ideas that come up and their lines are at times so hilariously funny!
Yikes the "Under The Boardwalk", poor Charlie can never "un-see" that!
With todays news that the show will GO ON for several more years is pure bliss!
Fatman (2020)
OMG I LOVE The FatMan! Of course I do *grin*
Seriously a great ride, I want MORE...I too went into this thinking ok I'll watch cause it's near Christmas and I came out totally flipped and ended up throwing my Civil Engineering final exam study period to the curb!
So many cool moments, Mel and the crew did an amazing job at putting this package together...Mel looks rugged and stoic also, you meld that part Mel and this brought out the best in you...go FATMAN!
Ford v Ferrari (2019)
I Blew A Piston!
What an awesome evening I just experienced! Drawn into the music, scenery, old time 70's feel which is and will always be the best movie era of movie making period!
All the perfect flowing racing, chivalry, the cars in that era and of course beat on acting. I can't say enough and won't anymore, just watch the movie and zone out to just yourself and you'll have flashbacks to your own era if you were around in them years.
Way to go to everyone who made this movie!
Beware of Mr. Baker (2012)
I've Yet To Watch (Lucky Me), The Reviews LOL I Can't Wait! His Passing Today Oct 6th 2019.
Wow, all those years I've known about him and Cream and all the other great bands. Now I'm awaking to read this announcement of his last breath to find myself immediately to catch some stories of his life. Oh what a trip he has had here in the living! Thanks to everyone that wrote on his movie biopic whatever it is. I'm going to savor the moment to catch a glimpse of the man that was Mr. Baker!
Fighting with My Family (2019)
RESPECT to Rock, Vince Vaughn, Nick Frost, Lena Headey and so on!
It's midnight here in Canada and I'm just settling in to a massive bowl of steamed beef rice while most grab a huge bowl of popcorn. First, so lucky are the actual family that inspired this beauty of a movie that encompassed your life! So blessed are you that it came out to us in a movie so well put together! Believe me I am and wasn't up for a "fight" movie this evening let alone wrestling! It was the furthest from my mind honestly if that sets the stage for this review.
I'm not going to write a novel but to say this really set me in a thoughtful mood, one that made me grit my teeth and accept where I'm at today which is in way different spot than I'd have hoped however it nailed my acceptance to say "screw it"...go forward and relish in what became and bring on tomorrow! The characters nailed their showmanship...it makes me want to pursue more WWE and WAW which is truly something to say LOL...I liked the parents so much and hope they see that this is truly such a wild gift to have happened to them...
T-34 (2018)
Without a Doubt 10 Star! If you like playing BF5 and any of those games you'll feel this one!
I'd donate another 2 hours of my life easy to get lost in this moment again without a doubt. Not cause I was born in the 60's and this just feels like the war was, nope because it was made to just carry you into a realm that didn't shock me into an "oh this is war" moment...It's the comrade's you gain respect for right till the end! That handshake even....really cool! Thanks for giving this piece of footage for us...way under rated so do know that there's the normal people out here that are only to thankful for the cast that put this masterpiece together! Great JOB!
The Escapist (2008)
If I Had Only One Movie! Authors Don't Repeat This Movie (No Masterpiece Needs Repeats)....
WOW! This movie took me by surprise! Wow... I'd give my life to "Frank" should I have been in that place!
I beg the producer-actors-anyone involved DO NOT repeat anything resembling this picture...it's classic perfect...move on now and leave this as it's standing masterpiece... This movie is an absolute surprise! I'm begging that this story will lay to rest here, however (authors) please bring forth anything else you present with this imagination...I loved this style of story-telling and it could have been any plot with this choice of characters! (hint hint more please).
To sum this up this is perfect "getting the book across story telling representation" in my opinion! Fantastic...awwww I'm speechless, perhaps even longing to be inside that prison to get caught up!
Rupert, Dan, Brian (OMG), Damian, Joseph, Seu, Liam (Wink), Dominic (Clap Clap Clap), Steve, Ned (Classic), Domhnall (You Rock lol) and and and (insert standing ovation)...last but not least again I say specially to you Brian Cox that Frank would hands down be the guy I'd most likely would like to have with me if meant life! (who thought of his character...neat mind) Kudos Brian...*Clap Clap Clap*.
Toss this movie into your weekend things to rent list, see what it can do for you...I know it took me for a ride that was very intriguing.
RIP Frank (my hero)!
In the Footsteps of Marco Polo (2008)
Absolutely Amazing Guys! Thank You Thank You!
It was a late night at work in a tiny Winter Northern Ontario town where I work as a Conductor/Engineer for a railway. I was settling into the local no-frills away from home Motel late last night in a rustic Paper Mill Town of Espanola which happens to have some remote and wild experiences as well as magical spiritual scenery but then again as I watched In the Footsteps of Marco Polo this all pales to compare. Perhaps because I was NOT prepared in the smallest fraction to the global experience that Denis Belliveau and Francis O'Donnell had taken me on and LOL on a 27" bubble screen TV for that matter! It's only because wow, this wonderful spectacle just became an instant close friend.
Nay-sayers, nick pickers or authenticity critics need not apply! Please don't go there...do us all the favor and simply think 14 again (which assumes your thinking that the world is wide open and bullet proof) which I would not hesitate to imagine this duo unmistakeably will. Grab a snack/drink and go for the adventure that naturally unfolded to create this beautiful trip (but trip is hardly used correct). This is neither to me a trip nor a journey, it was a little over a year of next to being there with them on a mission to find out as much as what Marco Polo could have expected. PLUS PLUS PLUS OMG.
I can't thank these 2 guys enough for the moment that unfolded in this drab time in my life where it appears I am also middle aged and yet unchallenged with having only 3 weeks holidays a year at work (and that just happened this year), and to further strengthen life's death grip on my present grounding I am given my holidays at my companies discretion and never more than 1 week at a time. Long story short...Denis and Francis's heroic trip was my journey, my conquest, my lifetime this evening! AMAZING! All I did was hit the power button. Is that why these kind of movies or cinema epics become hidden gems...I think I just finally found out why!
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006)
What A Trip! Sniffing Brings Out a new Scence!
Was completely off guard when I ordered up this movie today. Going by what the description gave from info on my ppv guide I thought OK, wasn't sure if I wanted a movie that brought me to 1700's era but I'll try.
Well, from the beginning I was taken in with not only Tom Tykwer's approach to the presentation but also to the cast and props, film angles bla bla bla...It all fit so well and created a nice little masterpiece.
Kudo's to how Ben Whishaw nailed his part at following the plum girl, showing us how keen his scent leads him to follow her through the musty alleyways, preying upon her but yet seducing us to what could still be one of our greatest moments when falling in love....Our Scent! Could there be such a motive that captivates a person to such desire as to bottle them up...oddly enough it's been said and I'll admit I've even used that phrase before LOL. Nonetheless I am still thinking of certain parts to this movie now but don't want to spoil any....enjoy the trip! Awesome movie...I loved it!
