Oppenheimer (2023)
My Goodness, what an Experience !
From the moment this movie begins you are transported to an incredibly emotional space. The soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous and perfectly paired with each scene of the movie.
I was worried that 3 hours might be a stretch in terms of maintaining my interest, but the pacing of this storyline is spot on. If Murphy and Downey don't get Oscar nominations then something has gone horribly wrong. Nolan has perhaps just made his greatest work, who would have thought he could be even better than he already is. If you are still deciding to see this movie, go and buy a ticket today ! You must experience this masterpiece in a theater in all its glory.
FIFA Uncovered (2022)
Blatter off the hook...
I was waiting and waiting and waiting for the interviewer to ask Sepp Blatter some hard questions and it took until the last few minutes of episode #4 for that to happen. How can this guy not be in prison when he is so obviously corrupt ?
This series could have been made into a 90 minute doco, yet it was drawn out over 4 long winded episodes that keep going over the same info.
The reality is that FIFA has always been and will continue to be an organization, that without true Independent oversight, will succumb to factional nepotism and pork barreling.
At least Chuck Blazer provided a legacy of insights that may yet hold individuals to account.
The Pentaverate (2022)
Everything I hoped for... NOT !
This show lived up to my expectations, unfortunately my expectations were very low.
I don't understand the gutter humour and vulgar sexual references... it's just not funny or necessary.
I suppose some people will like this, but as far as I am concerned it was just cringeworthy dribble.
Netflix really is scraping the bottom of the barrel with this type of content.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Why all the negativity?
We had heard from many friends that this film was really bad, so our expectations were pretty low. It's actually quite good and has many 'relevant' moments to consider.
I actually think it's better the second time you watch it as you can dial in on all the subtle jabs at modern society and how ridiculous our narrative has become.
Keep an open mind and enjoy this movie for being brutally honest under the mask of being naive and trusting.
