Noah (2014)

Noah reminds me of a suicide bomber with religious psychosis
26 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
While acting is alright, I did hope for a more middle age like setting, instead of this mythical one. What I hate about this movie is that we come to like Noah, and in the end all you want to do is smash his head in with a brick.

Noah becomes more and more fundamental in his beliefs, and the length he goes to makes me wonder how his family would ever be able to truly forgive him again. I mean, even if he was given a choice, not to do evil, he was extremely slow and crossed way over the line.

The torment he has already put his family through, makes him the most evil of all the characters in the story, especially the coldness in which he portraits his religious mental illness.

It could have been a good movie, but was ruined by a religious idea of selfrightiousness, that whatever evil you have done, you are alright in the end, if you start to do right. Bullshit.

Noah is a mental patient, just like all the other lunatics running around blowing themselves up. He should have died on that beach, a drunkard and familyless, that would have been just.

Hilarious, and well worth the time.
16 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know what you guys have been smoking. "Worst movie of the year." "Worst movie ever." Come on, are you 12? Worst movie of the year was probably some low budget Bollywood movie made by Indian teenagers.

So get real please.

It took me a few years to bother to watch the Hangover, and so I ended up watching the first two installments in one go. And both movies are equally hilarious. And I actually like that some of the odd characters of the first, appear in the second, it makes it even more crazy.

Same formula? Sure, it worked the first time, and it sure as hell works the second time around too. I found myself laughing more at the second, and having to rewind to see scenes again. Especially the "I have a demon inside of me" "You also have semen". Drop dead hilarious.

So don't listen to all these kids, overreacting as if the worst thing ever, just happened to then.

Its well worth the time, and in no way do I see that Phillips put less effort into this one.

Looking very much forward to the third installment.

Cheers

Wonderful, very well made.
5 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
If you have ripped this movie on a bad quality screener, then surely, this is barely watchable. But if you are in a any decent cinema with good sounds, this one will blow you away.

Don't believe people saying its bad. They either downloaded a horrible copy or hate the blair which (dogma) style this was filmed in.

For me this was very believable, and most characters made a very good performance. At times though, they seem alittle too unattached to the fact that they just barely survived an Alien like attack. Most people would be in deep panic and in a very distraught state of mind. I told myself that they would probably get some post traumatic stress out of it, but being able to ignore it up front.

Other than that, its a great movie. I absolutely love it.

Relax people, its actually quite good!
8 January 2006
I can accept some people finding this movie a tad too long, and with a little too much CGI.. But giving this one below 5 points on IMDb, is telling the world more about yourself than about King Kong.

Its entertainment, its not a physics class. Its fun, its not the end of the world. Relax and have some fun.

Realize also that a 200mill $ project, has to have mass appeal. And I personally find Peter Jackson to be a master of smashing great film-making and Hollywood together.

Enjoy the acting if you cant enjoy the CGI. Its all there, its all good!

One of the greatest adventures I've seen on the big screen, hands down.

"So this is how freedom is lost, with thunderous applause.."
19 May 2005
Making sense of what has been before, regaining the honor of the franchise, Lucas has.

If you close your eyes for a second, you will lose important details. The film is so rich and deep, you will have to watch it over and over, to get it all. Meanwhile Lucas is spinning the last threads hanging from Clones reaching towards A New Hope, and this is done in such a convincing way, that you cant wait to see A New Hope, with all this new knowledge, with this new and deep understanding of what Darth Vader is, and why he became what he did.

The third installment of the StarWars Saga, is almost as good as our beloved Empire, and far darker and meaner. This is where everything changes, Jedis will lose their grip on a struggling world, and dark forces will take over.. Much like our real life situations.. There is a wealth of implicit communication about our own reality. It rises with Darth Vader, to a new and powerful level of depth and detail.

I was surprised, and glad. The circle is now complete, and in the best way possible.

Enjoy!

Poetry in Motion
18 December 2003
This simply cant be surpassed. With Return of the King we are taken to a whole new level of Epic scale movie making, and it is breathtaking and overwhelming, bringing more to life in dreams, than what is alive for real. So clear and coherent is the message for man, sent to him through the media he understands the best but neglects the most.

Accept this fathom of art, recognize what it has to say, and perhaps we will all one day embrace hope as we today embrace the grand lies of our time.

Extraordinaire!

"I envy you Captain" *Puke*
9 August 2003
Im not gonna waste too much time commenting this thing. But it irritated me so much, I had to say something.

American, americanize everything. They cant see through the fog that is their childish and utterly unintelligent behaviour.

Even the germans behave as americans. Do they truly believe that the entire world have the same values as them? judging from everything they do and have done to the world, something seems like it.

All the prisoners we see in this movie would have been killed on sight, or tortured.

The costumes are nice and its well produced, but thats all you can say about this plastic bag from a lacking culture.

Bravo!
30 July 2003
It is very satisfactory to see one of your old heroes come alive on the big screen, especially when thinking it would be failure. It isnt, it far exceeded my expectations, and I was blown away by its relative darkness and bitter atmosphere. Bana is again awesome.

As Hulk, I will silently let his moves tell the story. Go see it, its great!

Drifting into shapes that is life
8 March 2003
The spiral of thought and depth of humanity, shine bright and sad in our momentarily coherent hearts while in the hours of these images.

It is truly beautiful and moving, while shaking and touching our lives, telling us why we are here. From life through fiction, into life meaning.

Good stuff.

Carefully Treading The Frailty of Our Norm
19 February 2003
Sweet little flick about how made believe ideas of right and wrong, in a society, undermines the human spirit. We are very gently and carefully being presented the problems that our two main characters have. Too gently in my opinion. But I guess it helps to illustrate the delicate issues of colored people and homo-sexuality in the fifties.

However I find it a shame that the movie takes part with Cathy and pulls Frank further and further into the dark, in the end turning him into the bad guy. While there might be a point in making him look like the one who ruined their relationship, it does a poor job at illustrating the innocence of homo-sexuality.

Im sure Cathy would have fallen in love with Raymond anyway. He was all she ever wanted, intelligent, passionate, gentle (and black). So the relationship would have fallen apart eventually.

What I think is strong about this movie, is not so much what it shows us, but more the ironic illustration of the effect our norm has in a society. The ideas of right and wrong, backed up in spiral like fashion, by the hordes of the mainstream, making the lie seem more and more true, results in enclosure and devastation of the human nature, and its love and search for freedom.

We still have much to learn.

Do you have ideas, or do ideas have you!?

Spread The Word People - We Want This Film In Top 250!
25 January 2003
I have seen this flick 2 times now, and it only gets better, the message stands even clearer now in my mind.

Therefor I urge people, especially now, to spread the word about this movie, people must see this and hopefully reflect on the subjects laid out in front of us.

Would be nice to get this one in the top 250, as it is perhaps the most most important film of our time!

Yes, it is time...

A Rose as Beautiful and Deadly as the Essence of Man
19 December 2002
One cant enter the theatre, without enormous expectations of what is to come, what is to be seen and lived through in The Two Towers by Peter Jackson. The fear of failure vanished 15 minutes into Fellowship of the Ring, so it was with good reason, that those unjust expectations flourished or for some still flourishes, in our minds.

But, oh my god, the river that is The Two Towers, lets us once again, deeply into the very heartbeats and cries of middleearth. Where I see Fellowship of the Ring, more as an introduction to the marvel of Tolkiens thinking, than anything else, Two Towers is indeed the unleashed epic of the Lord of the Rings.

Not since reading the books, have I felt such vigor, vastness and beauty in a story, that portrays in essense the so very important values of our existance.

The Two Towers is a masterpiece, not surpassed by anything I have ever seen. The story by Tolkien are one of the greatest fantasy-reality escapism/realism stories of the world today. Its silverscreen adaption is worthy of our gods of old, whose segas is our legacy to inherit.

With The Two Towers, is has once more been proven, that man can be god.

Sweet little bottle carrying a message to you!
6 November 2002
While this flick may be many things people didnt expect or wanted it to be, it sure did a fine job at presenting to its audience, one of the most important messages to people in doubt of themselves.

It might have been delivered in a shallow box, but maybe that was just what it took to get the message through to you.

I doubt Elle Woods would be a success in cases not regarding some sort of fashion related situations. But thats not the point here. The point is that it doesnt matter who you are, how you look, and what you like to do with your time. Its all just a matter of how you do the things you do.

Making sense of your passions is what life is about.

Just another biproduct of a pathetic plastic culture.
5 November 2002
Im glad this movie didnt take itself seriously, thats the only part I liked about this movie.

If you are a 13 year old boy, you might like this movie, and thats cool. But If you are older and are getting just a little tired of all the crap, the media, (and the world around us) has the guts to throw at us, then you shouldnt watch this movie.

Its bad, its real bad. But not that bad if you just turned on the TV on a sunday afternoon and have nothing else to do.

In the end, this is what there is most of in our world today. The consumers decides what the media throws at us, and when the majority of the consumers are in fact, young or shallowminded youngsters, this is what we get.

People this is just another biproduct of a pathetic plastic culture.

Ignorance is bliss...

Reign of Fire (2002)

Cult Classic in the Making
27 October 2002
After reading people thoughts in here about Reign of Fire, my hopes were fairly low, when I pushed my self to the big screen and watched this. I feel ashamed for even listening to most of the comments in here. I feel so sad for people, no longer able to lose themselves in an adventure, just as they did when they were children, just as they did when they watched SW, Tron, Quest for fire or someother Cult Classic of your choice, for the first time.

Dont let your critical mind or other people thoughts, ruin great times and great movies for yourself.

Im not saying Reign of Fire is a masterpiece, far from. But it is original in its way of potraying mans struggle for survival. It developped through and through as Independence Day should have, just like Terminator in the Years after Skynet screwed up did, man against its own doom, fighting the fight of evolution.

Spare me the details, spare me the realism-critisism and show me some faith.

You may not see it now, but this movie is a cult classic. baaah whatever. The world has turned into a pop-seudo-intellectual-plastic-kiddie-bib-bib-happy-happy-go-lucky bubble of ignorance... Yeah im losing it, but its not my fault...

Not that bad, its evil, and alittle different!
22 October 2002
You gotta love the end. Its evil and sweet to my mind to see this movie end like this.

Its silly, has its B-movie moments, I cant help to think about The Thing and The Mothman Prophecies, when watching this flick. It tries to build up some of the "creature" suspense, The Thing so admirably succeeds in doing. And it has some of the run and chase feel of the Mothman Prophecies.

Although not too much depth or anything great in this movie, I like to see a creature face-to-face and up front for once. No hiding here (at least not too much) The drawback, and perhaps the reason horror flicks never show their creatures up front, is we get attached to this thing, to this silly looking creature. Hey he cant live without the things he do, and he is having some nice and cosy times in his cavern.

Its not great, alittle boring at times, but worth attention, at least as long as it lasts. May the ending put a smile on your lips :) 7/10

Its renaissance and beautiful
31 August 2002
Did it ever occur to any of this film's viewers, that the majority of man to this day, still holds true to the thought, that earth is the only place in the universe that holds life? So being an alien from somewhere out there, thinking the exact same thing, but still finds the question intriguing, and has the technology to satisfy this curiosity, should be so difficult to imagine. One day they find out they are not alone, and want to seek out these new creatures (from earth), yet to their greatest fear, they find out that 75% of that planet, which holds these new creatures, is made up of what kills them the most, water.

So why did they come to earth? 1: We would try one way or the other to enter a planet, that harboured exterterrestial life, even if it meant exposing ourselves to a 75% acid atmosphere. I wouldnt do it, but your governtment might force their soldiers to do just so, even if it meant heavy casualties.

So 1 there is the curiosity of these new creatures. 2: they wanted to free the last of the M-class planets (yeah i know), from the decease it beared, the human being. 3: Maybe the gas they had inside them was an excess supply of love, that they thought could help the human species better understand the universe. 4: Maybe it was communication. 5: Maybe they lived on earth in another timedimension, and thought, just as we would, that the earth was theirs.

Whatever the reasons they came, its not the point of this beautiful movie. This movie is basicly about what makes us human; the need to reason every single move ever made in life. It is an overview of the first lingering steps of human evolution, into sentient beings. Building life up around illusions, is what spawns hope, not having an illusion spawns despair. Its all about reason. Doesnt matter what you base your reasons on, just as long as it makes sense to you.

Having a reason, based on what you deeply think is truth, is touching reality. And what we want most in life, is feeling real, being real.

These aliens made us real.
