The movie was loyal and close to the book, but the details of the book which weren't in the movie, are more interesting like, Rachel and Scott really slept together or the other more supportive detector was in charge to find Megan and he helped Rachel or Tom kind of wanted to kiss Rachel and lots of things that aren't in it.
I think It could be made better than what is right now. But about the actors and their acting, I should say they were great, especially Emily Blunt in the role of Rachel, Luke Evans as Scoot, and Rebecca Ferguson as Anna. But I don't like the directing of the movie and I think The events of the movie could be shown better and we could connect with Tom more as it was in the book. Tom in the book was very lovable and supportive in the beginning and everyone likes him, something that is not felt so much in the beginning of the movie. Also, in the middle of Tom's meetings with Rachel, Tom acted as if he still loves Rachel and cares about her, even in a part of the book, when they are in the car, Tom kind of wants to kiss Rachel or when Rachel leaves the Scott's house, should have made Tom to feel jealous, something that wasn't there at all in the movie.
But generally, It's a good movie and you can enjoy the mystery of it and the acting of the actors, especially Emily Blunt.
